Thats why I've always liked Lennon, and also why I tend to come out in support of James McFadden when he gets mentioned. Players that commit defenders are worth their weight in gold - even if they do not directly create something, then tend to make space for someone else. And we have plenty of players capable of taking advantage of that.

What was that, Lennon doing well for Spurs. Committing defenders. Putting in some useful crosses.

There was I thinking that he was the midget half-brother of Keith Gillespie.

Newcastle went for Inler earlier in the window and was told by his agent that he wants a Champions League club.

Also linked with that Di María from Benfica today.

Newcastle linked with him and Diego Buonanotte in the Daily Mirror.

He's linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid in Marca so I'd say it's unlikely he'll be joining Newcastle anytime soon.

Newcastle DID go for Inler...but he fancies Arsenal.

Just people watching games - somebody is going to have to play awful well to get a move THIS quickly.

But we will see.

Nicko do you think it is likely that we will sign a right winger before the 1st of September. How much do you think Pennant will go for.

I think you will get somebody...not sure who yet...I don't think the decision has been made.

There are two problems with Pennant. The price and the fact that he likes being a Liverpool player.

I would much prefer us to test valencia's resolve and slap a £10million bid in!

Is this likely to happen Nicko?

Pennant is ok but theres better options out there!Players with better attitudes aswell!

I know Pompey have got a big owner, but on the big name signing this summer, i dont know why we cant compete with them on the same level to sign that one player.

We must have the same budget to buy that one player ie, same value as Crouch and Defoe, and we must be able to offer the same kind of wage for that big player, in the region of 55k's...

I dont see why we cant go for SWP, we could test Chelsea with a 9 million pound offer, and offer a good wage. We could also pretty much garentee SWP first team football...

Pompey have no money and are now having to sell players, Mendez went last week, Muntari the week before, whose this week ?

Redknapp knows he can only bring loan players in now they are all spent up. :)
