I believe 9Million is a fair price for him? Do you think he'll be sold for that amount? If he is Incey get a move on.

Sorry, but £9 million for Milner!? He's not worth more than maximum half of that amount. I hope Ince and his team are working around the clock to bring in new players - any other names other than Ireland, nicko?

Man City are in talks with a very wealthy group about a partnership deal...Dubai International Capital.

It could be done next week.

I can't work out why, but they want to put millions in.

It will come down to how much Thaksin wants to give away.

A major turn-around.

Lucky City if this works out. I hear it could be done by Wednesday.

DIC are not interested in buying Man City, according to papers in Manchester.

and Liverpool.

In fact, City are now saying that Shinawatra wont sell.

So Bentley's worth 18Million or so? I've seen Milner a fair few times, he would be brilliant for us..

I've seen Milner enough times to know he's not the impact player we need. He puts a decent shift in ever game, but for £9 million we could do a lot better. As for Bentley being worth £18 million - no, and that's why he got sold.

I agree with you about Milner, but as far as a players worth, - if he's what you want, and you have the money, then pay it.

Don't mess around asking silly questions like "is he worth it?"

Nicko if the price is £9m, how come he has not gone to Villa yet? I thought they had bid that? If not does that give us a chance?

Villa have offered £9 million for Milner.

Newcastle said he was not for sale.

Milner now wants a new deal or he will push for the Villa move.

I don't think it will go beyond £9 million.

And we'll find out today if Milner has the balls to make this happen.

The Manchester Evening News story is a total mish-mash. They say there is someone from the Emirates and that they want to buy the whole club for £80 million. Tosh.

DIC - or some unnamed source - can say what they want about Liverpool. They talked garbage on that subject before.

Shinawatra is bringing in a partner...NOT selling. That was pretty clearly in the People piece and remains the case.

The fact is that Shinawatra's people met DIC in London on Thursday night and are sorting out figures and percentages.

The deal should be done this week.

Why today Nicko?

Martin O'Neill wants an answer today or he moves on to his next target.

OK, what do you reckon about this quote from the MEN link, that Philipl pointed out on the City thread?

It is believed that the Emirate-based group is among the most active of the possible investors and would look to acquire the Blues in two stages paying around £150m in total, most of which they say is taken up with liabilities and obligations with regards to purchase of players, securitisation and loans.

If that's true, it's incredible.

So do you think it'll happen? With Milner going to Villa, Decent RW options are running out.

Nicko, with regards to Milner. There is very little chance that he'll be leaving Newcastle this summer. Keegan said the other day "James Milner is the last person that myself and the owner want to see leave this club. He definitely won't be leaving". Milner himself said he's very happy here (his best friend in football, Alan Smith, is here) so I don't think it's a goer.

However, you never know. Most Newcastle fans would snap your hands off if £9million was offered (I'm still dubious about whether that amount of money has really been offered), leaving us to go for someone like SWP, who is much the better player for similar money.

Keegan talks up all of his players, if the money is right and he thinks he can bring in a better player Milner will be out of the door.

Baggio. I just can;t see it.

First of all, Keegan wouldn't have said Milner was "the last person" he'd want to lose.

Second of all, I think it's HIGHLY unlikely that anyone has or will offer anything like £9m for him

Thirdly, Keegans made it clear that he needs three players before the window shuts, and doesn't want to lose any. I can't see him getting 4 players this week.

Do not think its Keegan's decision, i believe its down to Mr Ashley and what he intends to offer as a contract for Milner and going by his success rate of reducing Bartons contract, i really don't think he'd offer Milner what he wants. So i think he'll be off and by the sounds of it a Villa offer has been made of 9Million. I think he'd be decent for Rovers, i know i've said it numerous times, but he's a versatile player. Maybe doesn't have the ability of Bentley but i believe he is just as effective.

Back to Rovers.

The clock is ticking, and time surely is running out for Ince to make a move for new targets.

He stated a few weeks ago he was behind in the transfer market.

Unless we can conclude a deal with one of the existing targets, it may well have to be a lone deal.

There was a lot of talk about Ince's Italian connection, when he was appointed, but nothing seems to have surfaced on that front.

The EPL players available are to expensive, and all have varying question marks against them, as to weather they fit into are immediate requirements of the team, and there individual qualities..

If we are going to move on, and challenge for a top six finish, we need improvements to the squad of that there is no doubt, not players who are of the same standard as we have.

I'm sure they will keep looking, and pushing existing targets, but maybe January will be a more productive time for the club.

Nicko, other than Andrews, do you think any of the players you know of, could a deal be done in time.

All this talk of a new contract for him has come from nowhere over the weekend, and is not based on anything that Keegan or anyone else related to the situation has said, therefore is probably nonsense. He's not a top quality player, and I'd rather we got rid of him if an offer that big has actually come in, but I don't think MON is stupid and wasteful enough to pay that for him.

I thought we were keeping this topic to Rovers related news? The last 2 pages have been more like Newcastle United/Manchester City messageboard..?

RoverFanUK, you're fans are talking about Milner as a possible signing, so us Newcastle fans are just giving you our opinion. Unclench.
