rovers1995 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Does anybody else think that the right winger being watched this weekend but did too good and might not be available was elano. I can't see it happening because sparky won't sell anybody to us.

Eddie Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Go to another board, or at least another topic, if you want to talk about your clubs.
philipl Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Nice to see other clubs who are beneath us in the league table sweating buckets over potential transfers.
Eddie Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 We've had two games...don't think we can say "clubs who are beneath us in the league table" just yet.
Paulsman Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Go to another board, or at least another topic, if you want to talk about your clubs. Your fans AND Nicko were the ones talking about Milner. I thought, being a Newcastle fan and fairly in the loop, you might like to know my opinion. Crazy me, thinking you're allowed to post opinions on a Message board. I think you guys could do a lot worse than Pennant. He's a much better player than Milner.
philipl Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 We've had two games...don't think we can say "clubs who are beneath us in the league table" just yet. next pot stirring contribution you post will be anihilated.
Paulsman Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 By the way, I've heard a couple of rumours up here in the North East that Blackburn are interested in Kieran Richardson. A couple of Sunderland supporting friends of mine were saying at the weekend that they hoped he stays, and they've heard that Blackburn and West Ham have been interested.
Krillin Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Does anybody else think that the right winger being watched this weekend but did too good and might not be available was elano. I can't see it happening because sparky won't sell anybody to us. Elano would be a good signing and I'm not sure that Hughes has all that much call on transfers. If he is the target and we offer enough to cover their wage bill for this week ( ) then there has to be a good chance it will be accepted, regardless of what Hughes would like.
Baggio Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Back to Rovers. The clock is ticking, and time surely is running out for Ince to make a move for new targets. He stated a few weeks ago he was behind in the transfer market. Unless we can conclude a deal with one of the existing targets, it may well have to be a lone deal. There was a lot of talk about Ince's Italian connection, when he was appointed, but nothing seems to have surfaced on that front. The EPL players available are to expensive, and all have varying question marks against them, as to weather they fit into are immediate requirements of the team, and there individual qualities.. If we are going to move on, and challenge for a top six finish, we need improvements to the squad of that there is no doubt, not players who are of the same standard as we have. I'm sure they will keep looking, and pushing existing targets, but maybe January will be a more productive time for the club. Nicko, other than Andrews, do you think any of the players you know of, could a deal be done in time. It's starting to look like Ince has made a mess of this window.
rovers1995 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I just think that the right wing target is elano because nicko said that the right winger did too good this weekend so he might not be available and elano scored two goals.
Majiball Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I probably watch more Spanish football matches then the Premiership, mainly because I believe that it is the best league in the world and sky's coverage of it is very good. Joaquin has been inconsistent for the last 18 months, now huge amount of this is down to Valencia playing poorly as a team and him being asked to do a slightly different role, however on lots of times last year his attitude seem not to be right. Don't get me wrong he is potentially world class especially if he can rediscover his for however we as club are not in a position to be able to take that sort of risk. Koeman has to take a lot of credit in ruining his season he blamed Joaquin quite a lot amongest others as well. Silva was moved inside as Koeman adopted Mourinho's narrow 4132 formation so no wingers in the traditional sense. No-ones attitude was right at valencia last year Koeman came in and ruined team spirit, Christ players where trying to buy out there contracts and hated him. Joaquin still has it. I'll tell you a useful Polish player who is actually English as well, I shared a flat wit his sister at Uni. his name.......Lucas Jutkiewicz, he plays for Everton and to be fair he was an impressive youngster at Swindon which got him the move and he has done well in friendlies, I would say watch this space with this guy if everton don't manage to buy another striker. Wasn't he at Plymouth last year?? Came with big reputation and played 3 games in 6 months. he looked lost at times, and I'd be surprised if he makes the grade TBH. He did well at swindon but couldn't hack it in the championship he has a lot of work to do to make it in the prem. You never know though. No-one thought Gosling would make it, but he took his chance and never looked back. Sturrock was his boss at swindon as well and should have been able to get the best out of him, but struggled to do so, he was not ready for it. I'm not convinced on him, and he's not good enough for us yet or the prem. He may be better off on loan again.
roverfanuk Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I don't have a problem with other clubs fans coming on here and saying that players they have been linked to would be good for our club. What i do have a problem with is other clubs fans coming on here and posting quarter page posts about players being linked to their clubs, and bombarding Nicko with questions about the validity or possibilities of these players coming to their clubs. It doesnt take a lot of space to say so and so would be good for your club for certain reasons. Allot of this topic seems to have been eaten up by non Rover fans enquiries and supposed rumours about their clubs. This is a Blackburn Rovers messageboard, not a Premier League free for all...
Torgeir Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I just think that the right wing target is elano because nicko said that the right winger did too good this weekend so he might not be available and elano scored two goals. Only problem with that theory is the fact that Elano didn't play on the right, Stephen Ireland did.
Cally Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I think someone is getting mixed up with DIC and some other Dubia based investment vehicle. There is more than one.
nicko Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 OK, what do you reckon about this quote from the MEN link, that Philipl pointed out on the City thread? It is believed that the Emirate-based group is among the most active of the possible investors and would look to acquire the Blues in two stages paying around £150m in total, most of which they say is taken up with liabilities and obligations with regards to purchase of players, securitisation and loans. If that's true, it's incredible. Those figures are correct...but come in a story where they: 1 - said it wasn't Dubai and then quoted Cook as saying it was Dubai. 2 - and said that the deal was £80 million...before saying it was £150 million. Looks like a story written by a committee.

Completely agree with you mate, i had abit of a moan about it the other day and it just keeps happening. And my post got deleted
67splitscreen Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 It's starting to look like Ince has made a mess of this window. I don't think you can say that, he has only had around a month. In general the transfer market has been very strange this year. Will this week change things dramatically, I'm not sure. I really would like a true old school RW. I have not got a clue who, or where he is.
Fife Rover Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I just think that the right wing target is elano because nicko said that the right winger did too good this weekend so he might not be available and elano scored two goals. I hope the day never comes when I am standing in the dock, and you are on the jury.
philipl Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 It's starting to look like Ince has made a mess of this window. Well Ince has from now to midnight on 1 September not to find himself back in the same hole he was in at 2.30pm prior to the Goodison match. Not very usual to see a Chairman with cash to spend ripping his hair out over a Manager seemingly incapable of spending it if my other moles are not telling me untrue stories. Interesting story that Hamburg are expecting the suddenly over-extended Gaydamaks to accept an £8m offer for Krancjar. One for Rovers to look at?
Al Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Completely agree with you mate, i had abit of a moan about it the other day and it just keeps happening. And my post got deleted So did I. I'm getting peed off with having to read through page after page of Newcastle, Villa and City related crud. Can these posts not be deleted instead of our posts with objections to them being deleted?
dingles staying down 4ever Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 It's starting to look like Ince has made a mess of this window. How? By not rushing out and waisting any available funds on poorly researched buys at probably over inflated prices. It maybe that he is still evaluating his own players before deciding what players are required!
unsall Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Was the right winger who did too well yesterday elano (he did score two goals). He would be a good signing but i can't see it happening. The only right winger we will sign, if he will agree to move is Pennant,Andrews will be shipped in same day,and I expect Grella, the Israeli goalkeeper plus obviously our friend Mr Fowler as well, and if we get the guy on trial I can see Gally moving on with Sergio and Jason Brown going as well.........If all that happens I would say a pretty good transfer window.......

It maybe that he is still evaluating his own players before deciding what players are required! Exactly, would people hace seriously prefered he went out and bought like Eriksson last year?? We need to be prudent, we need to get it right. I'd be happy to wait if it means getting in the right players at the right price, even if that means jan or next year.
Sandiway Blue Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 How? By not rushing out and waisting any available funds on poorly researched buys at probably over inflated prices. It maybe that he is still evaluating his own players before deciding what players are required! In all fairness he is a Newcastle fan. He probably thinks all the other footy clubs operates the same `Laurel and Hardy` way that Newcastle do. Slapstick comedy at its best!
