How? By not rushing out and waisting any available funds on poorly researched buys at probably over inflated prices.

It maybe that he is still evaluating his own players before deciding what players are required!

I agree, Ince has said on a number of occasions that he came in late - he therefore needs time to look at players available, plus acessing his current squad - which is why the younger fringe players have featured in the friendly matches. Anyway other clubs may panic buy and also panic sell in order to raise funds in order to buy. rovers are in the position where they have cash to spend without the need to sell. Rovers can afford to play the waiting game.

It is also the style of play Ince wants rovers to play - he has had to wait to see if the current squad are able to play the way he wants them too. One thing I have noticed is Rovers get the ball forward faster than last season.

I have been disappointed with the transfer window as much as anyone..

But looking at it from the other side of the coin, we have the cash and there are quite a few over extended clubs out there or teams looking to just get rid of players, so we should be one of the first clubs that clubs think of when trying to raise much needed cash and may be able to get a bargain or two.

This could work very well in our favour (or turn into a total disaster).. lower the prices on a few of them out there.. and there is no time left for full blown bidding wars.

As for the usual wild guess routine on who did too well yesterday.. Ireland did well, Joaquin did poorly, m'Bia didn't play, Riera didn't play and how did Inlar do..?

This is getting tedious.

Why post lies? Sorry to be so scathing but there has been a million and one posts like this since these threads opened and all have been a waste of time.

''Just heard this, just heard that.'' Unless John Williams or Paul Ince told you, then please keep it to yourself/ves.

Everton DID ask for SWP on loan...a few days ago...but at the moment it is not happening.

So he COULD be available. But it is very expensive.

I've not heard anything about a Rovers attempt, but it wouldn't surprise me if they had asked.

I am sure that people like Pennant and SWP will rediscover their energy and potential if they play regularly. I dont believe either are even close to what the media heralds them in "One match is enough to create world class players country" aka England, but they are GOOD players nonetheless.

Well I'm sure Scolari has said he is willing to let SWP leave, or did he just say some could leave and the media presumed he meant SWP?

Anyway if that's the case then surely he is going to have to take a step down slightly, I can't see the others in the big four being interested in him, possibly Liverpool but can't see Chelsea letting that deal happen.

I bet Ian Wright probably is a big influence on where he goes, he is always talking about him needing regular football and always hints at wanting him to leave Chelsea. We could offer him regular football week in week out so if he could be persuaded to drop his mega wages then it could happen. I wouldn't be suprised to see Villa go in for him though if they decide against pursuing Milner, I'm suprised it hasn't been rumoured already since in my opinion SWP is better than Milner.

Maybe it was a case tha teams didn't think he was available?

Nicko, by very expensive are we talking north or south of £10 million? If it's north then no chance!!! Do you have any idea of his wages and whether or not he would take any kind of cut? I hear he is on about £55,000. I'd be surprised if we would offer above £40,000.

Not very usual to see a Chairman with cash to spend ripping his hair out over a Manager seemingly incapable of spending it if my other moles are not telling me untrue stories.

Philip, you have heard no such thing - stop posting such complete and unmitigated rubbish!

Nicko, have you heard anything about what my Sunderland friends were saying about Kieran Richardson. They said they had heard that Blackburn and West Ham were looking at him. They didn't say whether it was a recent thing though.

I don't believe that Rovers would have an interest...wrong wing. West Ham would have taken him in a swap for Ferdinand...and they have got TWO left wingers already.

SWP is on more money than any player at Rovers right now...around the £60,000-a-week mark.

Chelsea also want lots of money for him...around £8-9 million.

I don't see that one happening - to Rovers anyway.

Unless it's a loan, of course.
