dingles staying down 4ever Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I thought Vogel looked handy at the end of last season. He can pick a pass, and also pass the football accurately/forward, which is an improvement compared with some of our current midfielders He also had a good 'footballing' brain. He bossed the midfield for the first hour against Man Utd, along with Emerton, until he tired. Maybe a full pre-season will have benefitted him.

Maybe a full pre-season will have benefitted him. I'm not sure he played much in pre-season - and he also lost his number 8 shirt to Dunn. I just get the feeling Ince isn't a fan.
Sandiway Blue Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I see Rovers were at the Bordeaux v Nantes game................David Bellion is an INTERESTING target.......I am sure Ince has asked Fergie regarding him............The guy looks totally different from the player that was here during the United/Sunderland days...........he would be ideal for the right wing...... He must be batting on a bit now, seems to have been around forever.. EDIT: Just checked he is only 25!
John Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 He also had a good 'footballing' brain. He bossed the midfield for the first hour against Man Utd, along with Emerton, until he tired. Maybe a full pre-season will have benefitted him. Considering, because of his contract dispute, he had not been playing much football at all, I thought he made a really decent impression. Sadly, he has been injured this pre-season, so would have missed out on a lot of work.
nicko Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Everton set to make first summer signing, nicko, were we ever interested in this guy, he is a right back. The guy played three times last season...and was allowed to leave for nothing. That will please the punters.
Mc Love Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Nicko, would you say Berba will be off to United before the end of the week? I heard reports that Ramos told Levy to get off his ass and sell him
John Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Nicko, on Everton, do you think Moyes has a chance of brining in the 6/7 players he was talking about? Seems a bit extreme/unlikely considering they have struggled to bring in anyone all summer (apart from their freebie today).
Baggio Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 17.08 According to reports in Norway, Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United have made bids in the region of £6million for Rosenborg midfielder Per Ciljan Skjelbred. The Norwegian club are set to decide on the offers at a board meeting, with Tottenham and Portsmouth also linked with Skjelbred.
roverfanuk Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Nicko, is their any Rovers related names you can reveal. I find it rather worying that we havent made any 'offers' let alone signings in the past week... 17.08 According to reports in Norway, Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United have made bids in the region of £6million for Rosenborg midfielder Per Ciljan Skjelbred. The Norwegian club are set to decide on the offers at a board meeting, with Tottenham and Portsmouth also linked with Skjelbred. If this has any truth behind it i will skip around my garden butt naked! Snag is he is apparently a Newcastle fan...

Hopefully thats true and Gamst Pedersen can have a word with him but at this moment i reckon Newcastle are going to get him.

The Norwegian club are set to decide on the offers at a board meeting, with Tottenham and Portsmouth also linked with Skjelbred. What was Nicko's rule again about the number of clubs mentioned in one report? Can't see Spurs spending on ANOTHER midfielder when they only have one striker willing to play for them. And aren't Portsmouth so broke they're selling Kranjcar to pay the bills? Just doesn't add up.
S15 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Plus the fact if you pay £6m to a Norweigan club then you expect Pele in return.
nicko Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Nicko, on Everton, do you think Moyes has a chance of brining in the 6/7 players he was talking about? Seems a bit extreme/unlikely considering they have struggled to bring in anyone all summer (apart from their freebie today). He might get four or five, but not of top quality. Three on at the moment. One signed, one coming, one possible on loan. It's a start. Why do they all leave it so late?
dinglebasher Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I have nightmares about players called Per. Remember Pedersen? Awful.

John Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Liverpool defender Steve Finnan could be set for a move away from Anfield to join Barclays Premier League rivals Blackburn Rovers.
nicko Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Liverpool defender Steve Finnan could be set for a move away from Anfield to join Barclays Premier League rivals Blackburn Rovers. So why was Danny Simpson signed? nicko, there's a strong rumour about a Ghanaian player being next in. It's not Annan is it? NOT Ghanaian...but I can see where that rumour came from.
wandel77 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 The guy played three times last season...and was allowed to leave for nothing. That will please the punters. Well he did only play 3 times last year because he was injured most of the season. He then got his contract cancelled because he did not want to play in the 2nd bundesliga. I would loved to have come to Ewood, he is a fast RB with some very good offensive qualitys and can tackle also.
RoyRover Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 This is another guy that I mentioned a few days ago as a potentially good signing, to solve our right back problem. I know we have bought Simpson in, but I would like Finnan to come in as well. That would mean that we would have two men covering ever position in defence and he would certainly be a quality addition to the team. I'm glad that there are rumors are surfacing on the internet.
roverfanuk Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Liverpool defender Steve Finnan could be set for a move away from Anfield to join Barclays Premier League rivals Blackburn Rovers. This would mean we had 2 out and out RB's, Emerton for RM and Ooijer for CB cover... Could it be Ince is going all out to have Emerton at RM, or is he going to make sure we have at least 2 first team worthy players per position...? Ie. Finnan and Simpson for RB, and {mystery person A} and Brett for RM?
nicko Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I can't see Finnan for all of the reasons previously mentioned. He is older than Rovers would want, expensive, huge wages...and you have signed Danny Simpson. Not having it.
pksrover Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 nicko, there's a strong rumour about a Ghanaian player being next in. It's not Annan is it? Have just completly forgot in this Annan saga that my mum's cousin is the Chairman(or rather Chairwoman if thats more correct) of Stabaek where Annan is on loan. While back in Norway this weekend in my aunt's 60th I got to know that Annan apparently was struggling with an ankle injury while on trial with Rovers, but maybe this has been reported somewhere else already, by nicko or media? I think I've read it on this board that scouts finds the brazilian left winger of Stabaek, Alanzinho, to small for European leagues. I can confirm that this is correct as well, the scouts are always impressed by him but worried about his size.
roverfanuk Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Before i forget Nicko, what happened with the Hungarian 'David Beckhamesque' 17 year old we had on trial?
nicko Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Before i forget Nicko, what happened with the Hungarian 'David Beckhamesque' 17 year old we had on trial? There should be a deal by the end of the window.
Paulsman Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Nicko, have you heard anything on those £6million bids for Per Ciljan Skjelbred, from Blackburn and Newcastle?
