I wouldn't object to pushing the boat out for SWP, very exciting player, the only thing that puts me off him a bit is I've just checked and he's 27 in October.

On that basis he sems to have been a "nearly man" for a very long time - thought he was only 24 or 25.

Would still represent far less of a risk than someone like Joaquin though.

Loan deal only is possible as nicko says imo. No way will BRFC pay big money for a player who we will not be able to move on for more in a couple of years.

IRELAND - Heard last week that Rovers had inquired. Shocked at first, but he was watched on the right wing against West Ham and was excellent. This may have a chance as City could well sell if certain things happen. He is a bit loopy but a very good footballer and with the kind of skill Bentley had too. I would be happy to see him sign at the right price, which could have a chance if...

SWP - Man City ARE in talks with Chelsea to sign him. The £10 million fee takes some believing, but agent Zahavi - who seems to sign most of these players for them - is conducting the business. City also think they will have this 'new' money from a deal between Shinawatra and friends by the end of the week. So that could happen which would make Ireland more available again.

KEEPER - I hear the Israeli may be too small and Rovers are still looking for a new reserve.

ANDREWS - Pass. How can MK Dons leave out their skipper, let him go to Blackburn for the weekend and a deal is not yet done. The fee is agreed. So what is the problem? Is there a PR issue? I don't know.

EVERTON - Jacobsen is signing, the 'Ghanaian' is actually a Guinean called Kamil Zayatte, a centre half from Young Boys of Berne. In on trial.

RIERA - Liverpool will go in with an increased £10 million offer, which is £2 million less than Everton's offer. But Benitez thinks the player will push to go to Liverpool. Can it get any worse for Everton? Probably not.

I'm just glad there's no news about Villa. I think Ireland's a decent player though.

He has good skill but does he have much pace? And is he a right winger or an attacking midfield player?

I heard Sunderland had agreed a £6 million fee for him, that price would be good for a 22 year old.

Ireland's not bad.

The trick with City is to wait until all this "we've got money" stuff is shown to be BS and they panic again- got to be a decent probability that as the August wages go out; the chill in the bank vaults will overwhelm the sapinning plumes of hot air.

I'd offer 2 to 1 against City having any real money this side of 2 September. The £30m they have got can be spent once only- OK fine go get a busted flush in SWP but see where not paying Shakhtar and Dinamo Zagreb gets them before Christmas...

Hmm dont know what to think about him. Always thought he was over-rated. Dont think he has too much technique, nor is he the paciest but a combination of decent on both fronts from what I have seen. An honest hardworking player, I dont know if I would rather have him over SWP, or Pennant either...

Maybe we can offer 10 million for SWP.

He played well at weekend against a truly awful WHU. Devastated if we sign him as replacement for Bentley.

The quality of player we are constantly being linked with seems very poor quality in deed, i'm losing faith in Ince and his team with this kind of dross, we arent MK Dons playing championship football.
