ANDREWS - Pass. How can MK Dons leave out their skipper, let him go to Blackburn for the weekend and a deal is not yet done. The fee is agreed. So what is the problem? Is there a PR issue? I don't know.

Perhaps Nicko, like you said ages ago, Rovers are waiting on the right time to announce his signing alongside a bigger name?

Compared to Bentley, Ireland's crap.

He played well at weekend against a truly awful WHU. Devastated if we sign him as replacement for Bentley.

Any better suggestions ? Fact is there aren't any players available as good as Bentley.

Simon Ireland seems to fit in with.....

Keith Andrews, Robbie Fowler, Zigic = All crap!

The quality of player we are constantly being linked with seems very poor quality in deed, i'm losing faith in Ince and his team with this kind of dross, we arent MK Dons playing championship football.

Did you ever say anything positive when Hughes was in charge - or are you just a serial moaner ?

I suppose you think we should sign Ronaldo and Kaka next week ?

I to have doubts about Andrews and Fowler - but Ince's other three signings so far have been reasonable - so give the guy a chance.

And how many of those players have we signed by the way?

Your opinions on Robinson, Villanueva and the signing of a new contract by Santa Cruz?

Losing faith... get a grip.

Indifferent to Ireland but he did well on the weekend so i wouldnt mind him coming in. Pennant/Joaquin/SWP wouldnt come so Ireland may be the best bet we have for the RW.

I think Ireland is a very talented footballer. He was top scorer with the Republic of Ireland team in the Euro 2008 qualifiers until his little 'problem' with dead relatives.

You could do a lot worse.

But I should stress he is still an option at this stage and this is by no means 'past the post.'

There are a lot of options and I just hope a right winger is signed.

If the fee is right - and I believe that might be about £3.5 million - then it would be quite a shrewd signing in my opinion.

Give it a rest until the end of the window. We don't know who we will sign. Whilst Andrews sounds underwhelming the likes of Joaquin sound good.

In the end it is all speculation and we will only have the full picture come September 1st.

For what it is worth Ireland looks talented to me, and someone who could potentially improve further with the correct management. 6 million sounds a bit high though.

Edit - if we could really get him for 3.5 million that is very good business. Plus as he can play out wide or through the middle he would solve a few problems for us.

Thing is where is the money going to go? Whats the deal with a holding midfielder? Surely we must be looking at a few names?

Whoa there Nelly.

Stephen Ireland plays for City. Simon Ireland is a coach at t'Academy, who scored one goal for us as a player.

That said, I think they're interchangeable, sadly don't really rate Ireland as anything as special as was hoping for to fit in at RW, certainly not at the type of money Sunderland were looking to pay (6 mill?). 3.5 million may be worth a punt, at that price anyone we get will have some degree of risk I guess.

He's either 'tick, or tapped, to boot. All that malarkey about mixing up which Grandma popped her clogs, then complaining about the lads ribbing up over that silly Shane Warne thatch he had last season, down to wearing/flashing his Superman undies. I'd suggest the only thing he's on a a par with Bentley on is his over-inflated opinion of himself.

Come back Andrews, all is forgiven.

IF we really have to give City some brass, get Johnson, please.

Supported Robinson we all think that was the best Rovers could do, watched him closely on saturday had a good game but hes a notch down on Brad but hopefully he can grow as a keeper.

I'm looking for better players than what we've presently got, looking forward to seeing the Chilean but the others that nicko has suggested dont or simply arent better than what weve currently got.

Its up to Ince to unearth a gem or two maybe the Chilean is one but who are the others thats what hes paid to do.

I'm not fooled by our current false position even though it feels good, sustainability is what i'm looking for the players are KEY to the club, just dont see any of these players nicko mentions as providing that sustainability.

I think the point being made is that you should let actual signings/sales and events make you "lose faith" or the polar opposite. Rather than those which are alledged to be happening.

True, its a reaction to alledged happenings which hopefully will prove false, but nicko hasnt been wrong that many times so I am going off his word.

The consistency of the poor quality players is a major concern though.

I think Ireland is a pretty decent player. At 3.5ish that would leave us with a lot of money to spend elswhere and would certainly give us a player good enough to hold down either a right or central midfield position. He's a bit of a risk, but if he weren't a risk with his level of talent he'd be out of our price range. He's the kind of player we've signed over the past few years, I wouldn't be overly excited by it, but not against it. I'd hope that we'd still use that extra cash to bring in an even better player, but Ireland plus another good one and I'd be very happy.

Only going by the rumours i'd draw the conclusion that ireland is a weirdo nutter who's less stable than gazza on a booze cruise. He ain't quick enough to be a proper winger but he has shown some silky skills and has good passing ability to play cm...........so i'd have to say the head case issues aside 3.5m seems ridiculously cheap. I'd fully expect to be asking in the 7-8m bracket minimum if he was playing for us. Definitely something more going on if thats the size of the fee?

must add that at that price i'm definitely in favour of signing even if he is whacko-leaves plenty in the kitty for shrinks

No there aren't Jim. That's why Ince should have kept his squad together until he'd had chance to assess his players [January transfer deadline at least]and weigh up options.

Old ground den : Bentley didn't want to play for the club any more and they had to get rid.

Barry doesn't want to play for Villa anymore and fat good it is doing them : the player's mind is not on the job witness his awful performances in the first 2 games.

Rovers are unlikely to be able to find a replacement of Bentley's quality but what they can do is sign a pretty good player like Ireland who is skilful and can provide some imagination in midfield. He also scores goals.

Ireland is a talented young player with a bright future. He hasn't got blistering pace but so what. He sounds like a staple on decent rovers signing. I just look back at the days when we had Craig Hignett in ore. If only we had him now to solve our right problem....

My first post. Keep up the good work.
