[Archived] Bets Of The Day

Recommended Posts

Looking for a few decent bets on opening day.

4 win bets stick out in the Prem.

Middlesboro are 3.4 on betfair against Spurs, not nailed on by any means but too big a price. West Ham are 11/10 to beat Wigan, should be odds in IMO.

Fulham at 2-1 look a good bet at Hull. Also sorry to say Everton at 11/10 look a decent price.

Championship is tricky as usual but Ipswich at t'turf (5/2) and Southampton who played OK last week at 5/2 to beat Big Club at home look good prices.

L1 banker is Carlisle to beat Crewe at 1.72. The rest are hard to call.

L2 the Port Vale/Chesterfield double pays just over 2-1.

Of the rest, Anderlecht to win at Cercle Brugge at a tasty 2-1 and Schalke to beat Hannover at 1.78.

My grandad always said never bet on anything that can speak so might be better sticking to the GGs. In that case O'Toole (4.15 Bangor) has completely lost his way since some good efforts at Cheltenham last year and a return to anything like that form should see him with a good EW chance at least at 16/1 (betfair). Was second in this race last year and ground/track/weights are in his favour.

Blackburn to score 5+ goals is 100/1... worth it.

er, whatever.

I can think of better charities to make donations to than the bookmakers. If you had watched Everton v PSV you would have seen that PSV could have 90% of the posession, literally, but they couldn't even force the Everton back line to break sweat.

Anyway as the Prem kicks off:

Arse slam dunk

Bolton to shade it as the more frightened of the two

Rovers take advantage of the Incesurprise at Goodison

Hull to shade it on enthusiasm

Boro to win the match of the week-end

WHam to shade it

Sunderland to get a draw against clueless Rafa

Villa to thump Citeh

Chelsea to ease past Pompey

Man U boring win cue talk of the treble

Great 3-0 away win for Anderlecht completed a good weekend. You can pick up decent prices on European games on Betfair if you can be arsed to familiarise yourself with other leagues.

Also in Belgium, Liverpools opponents in the UCL Liege warmed up for Anfield with a 3-1 win at the mighty Dendermonde.
