This is a silly debate.

The record transfer fee is exactly that....the amount that was initially exchanged to bring the player to Ewood park. If you start looking at clauses and fees then you might as well begin to look at players salaries. As in "Oh well he was there on X amount for 5 years so his total cost was actually..."

Then again, (other) people's stupidity is always amusing though.

Just goes to show the lengths people will take, and how deep they will keep digging, just to prove a point that was never incontrovertibly provable anyway.
