i want to sell him

but there is no denying he is a quality midfielder when fit

he's just never fit

so get rid

i'd probably give him till january though

I think there is quite a considerable amount of denying as to whether he is a good player still at this time in his career. Vince Grella has contributed little, if anything since his time at rovers. What does he offer extra over any of our other midfielders? He's a passenger and needs to be rid of as soon as we can.

Hopefully this new injury is a cover for the possible Galatasary move.

have you seen all of his performances?

there is no way you can say he is a passenger when fit

you can however say he is never fit so sell him

but that's not the point i'm making

I pretty much agree with everything you've said regarding Grella.

Glad I'm not the only one who see's past his injuries and the "Ince" tag and actually merits him on his football ability.

He is the best defensive midfielder we've got when he's fit.

Goes in hard and mean like a young Roy Keane ;)

Feel the whole system is one sided..These players like Grella are already on massive wages, then they have goals bonus, then win bonus and then the top 10 finish bonus or any postion bonus etc etc..............I am sure they have other bonus which i cant go into............

How come they dont have a system that benifits the club?.......when players can turn down offers which benifits the clubs and they still get there huge wages?........

Grella`s time at the club should be a lesson for Williams and the powers that be..............Value of someones money is an important lesson and hope the new Owners hold somebody responsible for this or at least improve the overall balence............

I've always thought that. His passing isn't bad either (stats back that up too...). It's a real shame he's never fit.

LT- Grella could be back for the Liverpool game. Straight replacement for Bert?

I'm sure it'll only last for around 30-45 minutes. He's bound to pull a muscle, break his leg falling over his own foot or something similar.

Shame really as I believe that, given a good run in the side, he could actually have been a good player for us. However, without looking at any stats, I bet he's missed 75% of our two previous managers reigns.

Well its cdertainly make or break for him to prove himself, I think its more likely to be break (break his toe nail after 5 minutes, and be out for another 4 months). I really hope he can stay fit as we are going to need him.

Just checking Grella's career stats. 36 appearances for Blackburn since 2008. I was surprised to see it so high. I'd have expected about half that figure. I wonder how much actual game-time that encapsulates? Don't recall too many full 90 minute appearances.

Grella:

08/09 1224 minutes

09/10 954 minutes

10/11 244 minutes

= equivalent of 27 games of 90minutes or near as.

Kudos for the research 67. I guess I must have blanked out a lot of the Paul Ince era. We're destined never to see Vinny get an extended run in the side, whether that's as a result of the phyical nature of a league he wasn't accustomed to, or he just has glass legs. I'd expect he'll be moving on in the not too distant future.

Judgement day has been and gone Valois regarding Grella in a Rovers shirt, and if Kean doesnt share that judgement then he also can put himself in the out tray with Grella.

A Grella....someone who has talent and the right attitude but because of a malingering and lucky nature seems to get paid lots of money for doing nothing except taking up other people's time.

In years to come "a GRELLA" will be the name for a 30,000 Pounds Note.

Bloody hell---my post made no sense at all! Here goes again-----I posted a reply to a post not that far down the list, then realised it was from AUGUST!

That's why I said "probably the last time he played!"

Nice one Gav! However the point of my post is that Vince Grella has "suffered a set-back in training" according to the LT! An achilles heel.

Hard to believe eh?
