[Archived] Vince Grella Signs

Recommended Posts

He is a 'setback' pay up his contract and ship him out.

Why don't you?

Grella is a proper glass back whom I fear is simply playing the system in the most callous, mercenary and cynical way possible. Problem is with Jones injured and N'Zonzi abducted by aliens (or worse) we bloody well need him!

Inclined to agree with this though I'm not sure any professional really wants to sit around injured all the time. For Rovers the problem is Grella has been a complete waste of money and not very good when fit. I'd love to understand how we managed to spend so much on buying him? Was he an Allardyce purchase? How did we manage to buy a player so badly crocked as this one?

If I remember correctly, Sydney Rovers and I did comment on his "suitability" for the EPL.

Simply he's not that good.

Blackburn ace Grella shows his true colours.

Following the example of Robbie Savage when he signed for Derby, Blackburn Rovers midfielder Vincenzo Grella has purchased a vehicle in his team's colours to show his loyalty and dedication to his team. 'Vince' splashed out £9,000 on the top-of-the-range Granmaster Flash 3000, which has a top speed of 16 mph, a very comfortable chair and a basket to pick up parts of his legs should they fall off. The Australian international is said to be 'dead chuffed' with his new purchase, and there are rumours of El-Hadji Diouf ordering a specially made chromed model for £230,000 complete with unique alloys.

Out for the rest of this season of the season following operation on his achilles.

Dear God. Hardly a surprise but he just takes the p!ss more and more.

Pound for pound he has got to be our worst signing since 2000 surely? Especially as we never spent £4 million fees in the Hughes/post Hughes era on other players unless I've missed one.
