scotchrover Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 The Labour Party are set to take charge of the council again after For Darwen part of the coalition broke away from the Lib Dem-Tory group. For Darwen now look set to join up with the Labour party, firstly in the council chamber tommorow and then in the near future to form coalition council. Overall this looks like a good move for the council as spending around both towns as council spending will increase and ARTS IN THE PARK will return. Bring back the good times

Flopsy Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 yes the good times, like the one's we're in at the moment? Over to you boys
dave birch Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I can't complain here. No recession, low unemployment, summers coming, beers cold, wines excellent, plenty of fresh food. Clear blue skies, a bit of rain overnight. Having a long long weekend away next week, somewhere warmer than Sydney. Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Hawaii, haven't made up my mind yet. Nah, can't complain.

Surely not a coalitiuon between those two! ES will have a duck fit! Half the 'For Darwen' party are ex BNP. Do politicians have NO principles in their everlasting pursuit of power and control? Methinks Kate Hollern has been instrumental in this. Labour are damned if they go with this cos they will be under the control of the BNP sympathisers and the Muslim councillors will be offended and damned if they don't cos then it will show to all that they are under the control of the IndoPak community. Would you be happy with either scotch?

Have you ever stopped and thought about what it means to be a Tory?
blue phil Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Surely not a coalitiuon between those two! ES will have a duck fit! Half the 'For Darwen' party are ex BNP. I never knew that ! But still it shows that the Labour junta are consistent in that they deal with extremists from all sides . You know , I can understand the For Darwen lot cutting a deal if it increases their chance of more power for Darwen . I can even understand the Islamists cutting a deal to further their interests . For Labour it is nothing but a brazen clutching at the straws of power - they represent nobody and believe in nothing . Having said that if we do get the Arts in the Park back I'll welcome this Nazi Soviet pact ...
