brfcs5359 Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Got delayed before the Grimsby game and got there at the end of half time. Walked up to the ticket office was told "No half time tickets anymore". £12 for 43 minutes of Grimsby. John Williams is a great CEO. Rovers have become a real fans club so I am not knocking them. But please bring back the half time ticket. We used to have it and now it's gone!!!

But please bring back the half time ticket. We used to have it and now it's gone!!! I didn't realise there was ever a cheaper half time ticket per se, just thought there was a "half time" turnstile you could go through at the normal price if you were late or if you'd bought a full price ticket pre-match. Not in favour of that at all tbh. People could choose to just go to the second half of a game to save money or maybe wait until half time to decide whether to nip down or not, depending on how the game is panning out..
T4E Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 To turn up late then want a ticket to see the Rovers at cheaper than £12 is a bit much. I don't think you've got much of a leg to stand on here buddy.
den Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I'd put money on, that there's never been a half time ticket.
brfcs5359 Posted August 28, 2008 Author Posted August 28, 2008 The lady at the ticket office said they had done away with the half time ticket. Its the first time (in 30 years) I have arrived late ticketless. I think it is a good idea providing you cant buy them in advance.
RevidgeBlue Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 The lady at the ticket office said they had done away with the half time ticket. They obviously haven't, as it seems from the other thread you got in for the second half! Like den said, pretty sure the woman in the ticket office was mistaken. There's no objection to people being able to purchase a ticket at H/T if need be, but it has to be full price.
bob fleming Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Would it be possible to buy a cheap half time ticket for the first half only and then hide?
RevidgeBlue Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Would it be possible to buy a cheap half time ticket for the first half only and then hide? I knew the "multi faith" prayer room would come in handy for something.
CrazyIvan Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I thought the Riverside only ever had half-time tickets...
SouthAussieRover Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Years ago they used to open up the turnstiles when there was about 15 minutes to go.
nellybc Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 After saturday, it appears they do open the doors with about 15 mins to go if the riverside stand was anything to go by
MCMC1875 Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 We've had the pleasure of 80% tickets in recent seasons. You pay full price but the turnstile supervisor lets you out at half-time for a pint and then lets you jump back in for the second half.
Mike Graham Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 i'm suprised that they did not let you in for nowt if you arrived late.....they usually do if you ask nicely.

Well they definitely shouldn't if you ask me. Why should anyone pay 17-30 quid for a walk on match ticket if you can get on for nowt or half price at half/time?
