I couldn't agree more. Perhaps if the manager took the time and trouble to go on the coaching courses he might learn that there is more than one way to play the game. Both Souness and Hughes got results against the top clubs and Ince will have to do the same. You simply can't say that there are eight games a season where it will be impossible to get a result!

Over 90 minutes, good teams can compete with anyone.

3 questions: how many points did we get for this in your face attitude against the big 4; where was it under Hughes when we played the other 15 teams, and how has our attitude been in the other 7 games we have played this season?

2 maulings against the top 4 wasn't great or inspiring to watch, but to me is not indicative of a deeper malaise.

Not really, you could be on the pitch, roll over and die and get stuffed 9-0, I wouldn't call that being competitive.

Maybe the Masterplan is yet to fully fall into place, but thus far it appears to be to spend frugally, buy chuggers and let the top teams stuff us up the bum.

If that really is Plan A, I think we need to go to Plan B.

I've been pro-Ince so far but what is concerning me on Monday morning is his belief that there is nothing we can do when faced with teams like Man U and Arsenal. In today's Guardian:

"It's scary, isn't it?" said Paul Ince, the Blackburn Rovers manager. "You can spend all week, as I have done, discussing tactics and personnel, but when a team is that good sometimes you can't do anything about it."

I'm sorry, Paul, but there is. Against teams of this quality we can't expect to match them with fancy flowing football but we can at least expect our players to be in their faces, tough in tackles and closing them down quicker. Hughes knew this.

as did soey and many managers before that.Imagine flits or super atko or bats allowing a walkover like saturday. We played the midfield like the Chuckle Brothers.....to you ,to him ,to him to you.

1. I don't know but can remember some good wins and a sense of optimism at five to three / four / whenever TV dictates that we would get something from the game.

2. It was there more often or not.

3. Pretty good, though home form in the league generally has been nothing to shout about

I'm not saying there is a deeper malaise here following the two defeats - as I say I'm generally a supporter of Ince - but hearing your manager say there's nothing that can be done after this game really makes you wonder what was said in the dressing room at half time when we played Arsenal. The players in the second half played exactly as though they believed it was pointless trying, and that worries me.

thats exactly what it was like..no self belief and no effort and no motivation by the management.

Two defeats at home to two of the best club teams in the world and some of you focus on how bad it makes Ince look and how he must have said this or that... None of you were in the dressing room so none of you know.

We've played very well against other teams and you can only look at the negatives of defeats against two top teams. Does any of this mean we won't beat United or Arsenal in the future? Does it balls! Ince is still putting his ideas and plans in place and will be for a while yet. Do I expect him to learn as well as the players? Yes because that's EXACTLY what's been happening. I predicted this bullsh't to myself on Friday if we lost and look what happens? Some of you come out with utter tripe to prove your own twisted logic correct, it's predictable and sad.

It wasn't the best performance. I agree with that but the conclusions some of you are coming up with are just farcical.

You know what? Ince is right. You can play as well as you possibly can but to play United on the day they play like champions is going to end up in a defeat for Rovers. This was one of those days. They had their best day this season and we didn't have ours. It doesn't mean we are going to lose every time we play them.

Did you lot hear what MoN said about Chelsea? Chelsea were too good for Villa. What would you say about Ince if he said that? He pretty much DID say that about United. MoN said don't make major assumptions on one game. You lot have been doing that about Ince for ages and it's stupid.

I'm afraid you are p*****g in the wind Ivan. Certain "minds" were made up before the manager even set foot in Blackburn.

They are the ones who gleefully cant get on here quickly enough after we suffer a defeat and gloomily do a disapearing act whenever we win.

Sad. Pathetic and sad.

touched a nerve have I.If you read my words on the other thread its aimed at someone who all season as compared things for his own perspective with last season.

No, I just think you are full of it. You do exactly what you criticise other people for.

Yeah, three wins on the bounce and one loss to the Premier League and Champions League champions. Some downward spiral!!! Get real, this is one game not a series of poor performances!!!

What an utterly ridiculous post and it just about sums JAL up!

Ive been away for the three wins on the bounce maybe its me but i've just seen us play Hull, Arsenal and Manu U and the displays have all been pretty similar.

The second halfs are non entities, Rovers have gone in at half time and come out like headless chickens with no method or desire to their play just blind hope with limited conviction or belief - try tell me this has not been the case thats three home games so far.

Just cant see any logic in Paul Inces team whatsoever - he comes across as a blagger, he could get away with it on the pitch as an individual but being responsible for a group of individuals seems totally all at sea.

All I can say is the 3000 empty seats on saturday knew more than me and Paul Ince maybe........ more empty seats at Ewood is the answer.

I like the way you missed out the Everton at home game. We didnt play like that then.

Your last sentance says it all about you. You are a 1st class prick! Empty Seats are the answer??? It says it all about you. Why dont you start a face book group to get one your groupies in charge of the club?

Why ffs, do you blame Ince for empty seats!!!!!!

Did you blame Hughes for the same when he was in charge before the Credit Crunch?

Jesus! Somewhere a village is missing it's idiot.

As things stand JAL, who'd you have in if Ince left tomorrow? I assume BFS would be an option.

I'm looking for positives, desperately but i cant find many.

What is the constructive plan from Paul Ince for improving Rovers, do you know what it is Billy, on saturday morning someone heavily involved in the professional side of the game told me that Grella isnt a good player now i havent seen him play so cant throw any conclusions out about him but if this is true then I find it very worrying.

I've mentioned many a time that recruitment is key to Paul Inces success so why is Carlos not playing regularly now, hes been here long enough to be a regular ....or is it hes not good enough(recruitment).

Anyone who has actually watched King Carlos play will probably agree that he isnt ready just yet, in terms of strength and pace and therefore Rovers appear to be developing him, the same way they did with Pedersen at 1st.

As for Grella - he is an international player, so he cant be as bad as you make out.

Were you also one of those calling for Hughes' head when we lost 2 games 4-0 on the bounce?

Turn it around and yes maybe I have to question myself am I the idiot sat here watching a passionless display from a successful blagger.
