:rover: maybe the problem is paul ince has replaced a successful manager, the majority off rovers fans were glad to see the back off souness,kidd/hodgson/harford were all sacked and most fans thought the replacement could do no worse.hughes is a big act to follow :brfc:

That is THE number one reason waggy.

Carrying on after a successful manager is a completely different prospect from what Hughes was faced with. In his case any kind of improvement would have been good enough. Yet Ince has taken over from a manager who managed a superb relegation escape followed by three top-ten finishes which included three semi-finals.

Ince is somewhat of on a hiding to nothing. If he can satisfy the fans after what Hughes produced then we really have got the right man...

Eh? How can a simple opinion constitute a FACT?

Anyway it's complete rubbish. We did play well at Everton but the performance of the team in games v Hull, Fulham, Arsenal, MU have varied betwen awful and tedious.

I admit the performances have been quite patchy but that is going to be the case when you change a teams management, coaching, players & style of play, but there is a clear indication that the team is now trying to play with more of an attacking flow.

Hughes played some good stuff at times but last year it was few & far between.

My point is that we are still in the top 10 at a major transition point, we have money to spend in january & at the moment things should be looking good. However, we are listening to too many newspaper reports that are undermining our club.

For example, Roque, i have no doubt we will loose him as i did with bentley but that could be a year or two from now so lets be a bit more optimistic about things & maybe you will enjoy supporting Blackburn Rovers a little more!

....if that all fails maybe a hug will rid you of those frustrations!! :brfcsmilie:

All this from Sam Allardyce's agent :P

What bothers me about responses like this is the logic isn't transferrable.

You'd quite happily have the Antichrist in as manager, when watching his Bolton side twice a season against Rovers was a slog?

Be careful what you wish for Gordon!

To be honest i think he is spot on in what he says.Imagine the look on the face of the likes of Bill Shankly etc if after winning numerous trophies they are told to do a coaching course in order to carry on in management.

I don`t care how many courses they bring out,i doubt it would make any of the top managers better equipped to do the job.

You are dead right, no-one who has played under some of the greats is really gonna be taught anything from a course that has not really changed in over twenty years. Football training has developed leaps and bounds in the last 20 years so out of date would be the best way to describe them.

However they are required I guess you have to think of them as a driving licence hands at 2 and 10 0' clock and so on. Once you've passed drive as you feel best. Its the same with the badges do it the required way to pass and then develop the style you feel gets the most out of the players around you.

They desperately need up-dating and if they are to succeed and become more than a driving licence perhaps the FA should turn to the best to aid them in this.

I've a mate from Bolton who thinks the same but from a different perspective.

:rover: Wha-hey! Straight from the horses mouth!

"Ince completed his second week of courses at Ewood Park last week and revealed the practical work was a lot better than the educational side of it.

He said: “I know it has to be done and to be fair I have enjoyed it. The coaching outside has been great. It gives you a different insight into what goes on as a coach but the classroom just does my head in."

Kinell I was spot on again! I'm expecting a whole raft of apologies and retractions from certain members whose responses to my initial post suggesting that Paul Ince suffered 'learning difficulties' were disrespectful, churlish, containg accusations of racism and basically just downright insulting.............

C'mon children, and apologise. You know that you'll feel so much better for it. :P

'perception' is a much better fit. You could also use 'insight'. ^_^

Basically though creosote you accused me of being racist, senile and called for me to be banned. But I have been proven right, and so many others are now left with egg on their faces. An apology from you is the least I expect.

How have you been proven right? The guy admits he dosnt like the classroom environment, what a revelation! You, btw, are the boards best at calling for other posters to be banned so you had better leave that one alone.

I have never said that you are senile but I stand by my other opinions of you as I believe them to be true so dont hold your breath waiting for an apology.

On second thoughts, do!

Creosote you are a liar.

Cambridge Dictionary

dementia

noun a medical condition that affects especially old people, causing gradual worsening of the memory and other mental abilities, and leading to confused behaviour:

The most common form of dementia is Alzheimer's disease.

"sweet sweet irony!" Indeed.^_^

Are you going to offer a retraction or are you going to keep digging?

Clear implication that you have a selective memory so no retractions either :P

Proven right?

Because he doesn't like the classroom environment, you think that means he has "learning difficulties"?

I am willing to bet I did better in the classroom than yourself therefore, in my eyes, you have "learning difficulties".

No doubt you did but remember academic qualifications gained in this country in the last couple of decades no longer count for much in the real world.

And before you get your shirt off in your usual froth of self righteous indignation I do concede that the fault for dumbing down academic qualification in this country is my generation's and not yours!

Why thank you :) .......... err I think

You've jumped in way to early on a couple counts today Enoch 2! A bit too eager for someone of "a certain age" and signs that "winning" a flame war give you the sort of satisfaction that even four bogs and a set of Calloways cant provide.

You'll have to give me a couple of hours now as I'm off to watch the "Steel City Derby" which hopefully wont be as boring as you. :P

I can tell you don't associate with any children.

If you did, you would know they do a lot of work and that it is no easier than it was x number of years ago.

Kids now are given maths homework at 4 years old.

A lot of kids have to sit 12+ exams these days, and anything less than straight A's is seen as poor.

The people who tend to moan are ones who maybe didn't do as well and like to justify this by denigrating the hard working youth.

These achievers are a world away from the chavs and hoodys and deserve your respect.

But then again, the Daily Mail could be right and they are getting easier?

(It's not that teachers can teach exam technique and a whole world of information is readily accessible from any PC)

Cripes. Is that what this is all about then? You've been waiting like panther, ready for the guy you criticise so much for his PR, to quote one line, and all of a sudden you're vindicated? So much for objectivity.

Jeepers, you're easily excitable!

That sounds like your agreeing with your mate Mr Ince there?
