The number of players breaking down on comeback from injury - RSC and Grella in this week alone - suggests either there is a new medical team or Ince is pushing them too hard. What was the point of rushing back either of these players when we know Chelsea is a certain defeat? Now they will both be out for a home game with Sunderland we should - indeed must - win.

We are also 1 point off 10th. Bolton were below us and they won one game and shot up to the top half.

In a ideal world he'd be gone on Monday, the minute we appointed him i worried, never liked him as a player to be fair hated him. After his first press conference i feared the worst, i got the feeling he was very nervous and not sure if he could do the job, now every time i hear him speak too the press i wonder what rubbish will come out next. His comments to the press never fill me with confidence and that obviously goes for the players too, just look at what Redknapp has done at totenham in the matter of days It's all about confidence. I know we can't compete with them for money etc (as Ince has pointed out now 627 times) but so many players are under performing it has to be his fault. The only one thing that he's done is get in Robinson and got RSC to sign a new contract, sadly all that means is we may get a few extra million when he leaves. EVERYONE has said we needed a right winger or someone creative and we signed nobody,

Would we be in this position if we had signed Allardyce then? Because he was the likliest alternative. If we were in the top half of the table with him the board would be full of fans moaning about the poor style of football. At the time the board was full of people who were going to throw away their season tickets and were signing a petition to keep Sam out.He was the safe option and no-one wanted him. It seems to me those fans got what they wanted. Who else was there from that list? MacBrolly? And please no-one bleat about Laudrup---------didn't he want a 1 year get-out clause?

This was always going to be hard, something about Hughes was just right for Rovers. All we can do now is support what we have. I doubt Rovers could even afford to terminate Ince's contract even if they wanted to. Better to spend the money on players.

Avoid relegation and look forward to next season, with new players in January we should manage that.

Even since the early stages of his managerial career here, I've always had the impression that Ince is out of his depth. He was in his element in the lower leagues, living off his Guv'nor image, but now he's a fish out of water. Apart from Robbo, none of his signings have settled, and some have just been baffling, i.e. Fowler & Andrews.

If someone said we could have one season of success with Michael Laudrup or three more seasons of this, I know what I'd take.

I didn't want Allardyce either but would of accepted whoever they appointed and got behind them, at least Allardyce got the best out of the players and was obviously good at picking up good players on the cheap. The more i think about it he would of been the better appointment, Trust me if we where winning i wouldn't care how we did it, long ball whatever. So what if Laudrup wanted a get out clause, he would have to of done well if someone wanted him after one season. All i wanted from the board was to appoint an experienced head with some enthusiam, Ince is neither

Though Laudrup was my favourite - I think he would still have been a risk. The major difference would have been attracting players to the club. Laudrup was recognised by many as one of the best ever european players - I am sure his name alone could have attracted some decent players from the continent.

However - I still don't get the Ince bashing - he has brought through youngsters far more than any previous manager. The team (on the whole) seems to play with a level of confidence that belies our current run. I remain to be convinced - but I don't see it anywhere near as bad as some people seem to - and actually see reasons to be optimistic.

blinding signings he made for newcastle? how would the situation be better with that fat mug, still be having injuries. If we were a mere 2 pts better off right now would this argument be happening. Win the next and we are pretty much in the same boat as 14 other clubs. Get santa fit, emerton fit and villenueva off the flanks and more involved and we should have enough goalpower to get us through to janurary.

Going through our results and match reports on the official site makes me less concerned. west ham result in history books looks poor but for a perfectly good goal disallowed and the very poor desision to let roberts take a penalty would more than likely have seen a positive result just 2 goals after the 90th minute when we were chasing looks bad. Villa, arsenal, united and chelsea we got 0pts but i would realistically have settled for 2pts if offered beforehand.

6 league fixtures before christmas i'd expect sunderland 3pts, spuds 1pt, pompey1pt, liverpool 0pts, wigan 3pts, stoke 3pts. 11pts would be very respectable and could possibly be bettered given the rub. Going into a new year of sunderland, city, fulham, newcastle bolton and boro.

Of our next 12 league fixtures there is only 1 against liverpool were i would truly expect nothing from. These are the matches the manager should be judged on.

[bleats]You would think that generally the better managers are the more demanding managers at the negotiation table.[/bleats]

Personally I prefer an administrator who's strong at the negotiating table and tells an applicant who seeks unreasonable terms where to get off. There are clubs which change their managers once a season or more often and it doesn't work. You couldn't possibly appoint a manager you suspected would be off in a year. Ince could be off in a year or less if this keeps up but it'll down to bad results.

Ince has not filled me with confidence since the day he arrived. I agree that he looks out of his depth, his pre and post match interviews do not inspire me (so how can he inspire the players ?), and some of his signings (Fowler, Andrews) smack of sheer ineptitude and suicidal lunacy.

If we continue like this we will be relegation material, will loose a raft of players in January (to be replaced by another group of Ince's baffling signings) and crowds will plummet.

John Williams needs to bite the bullet and approach Allardyce with a bit wodge of cash.

Ince was a mistake and its proving so.

Ince seems to be on the same wave length as Juande Ramos with the sick sense to play players out of position.

Ooijer is a centre back, an international centre back for Holland. Yes he can do a job at right back but is less comfortable there and then going over to left back is just asking for trouble.

Derbyshire is a striker, so why play him on the right side of midfield where he clearly struggles.

Warnock is a left back, he broke into the England squad as a left back. Yes he has done well in midfield but the defense has clearly struggled without him.

Jason Roberts is not a footballer, Robbie Fowler is retired and now a property developer and Andrews is clearly out of his league.

Injuries have not helped this season but when you start playing several players out of position on a consistant basis your going to struggle. Arry went down the lane and put the players in their familiar positions and have not lost since he's been there!

I'm sure I'll get slated for this but here goes.

I watched MoTD2 last night and saw how much 'luck' has a part to play in the games played this weekend and indeed this season. Take the Villa V 'Boro game, two unlucky events/mistakes and two goals for 'Boro, Fulham V Geordies, one unlucky event and Fulham score (clearing header bounces off the back of another player and lands at AJ's feet). Genuinely this season sees a group of teams from 5th down who are pretty much the equal of everybody else with only small quality differences rather than a massive gulf in class so luck and mistakes (by players and referees alike) have had a remarkable amount of influence over results. I don't expect that to continue as some teams get their acts together and start to play better but given we've been on the end of some poor decisions, some god-awful mistakes by players and some plain bad luck will things improve? We've had a huge amount of injured players already this season and some injured over and over (Grella) but once we get the first teamers back and can get a fit and healthy squad we should have the quality to climb this league. I always remember a comment 'good managers are lucky managers' and I wonder if Ince's luck is going to change. I hope so. No matter what those negative posters say, we've been on the end of some god-awful luck this season. I'm hoping that swings around and as someone said 'it evens itself out over the season'.

Ivan, we've had more good luck than bad. Boro 'goal' given offside, Offside goal given against Everton, offside goal given against Newcastle, cheap penalty against West Brom (it was a pen but rarely given), Nelsen avoiding stonewall sending off at Newcastle. That's 6 points gained on 'luck' so on that basis, we HAVE got a lucky manager, question is have we got a good manager?

I'll agree that injuries are killing us at the moment but I'm not so sure we'd have the 'niggles' if we were further up the league.

We've a lot to do, and the next three games are massive.

The one year get out clause was a rumour, not sure how true it was but it was essentially meaningless anyway. If ANY manager wants to leave after a year, its very hard to stop him. Much harder to stop a manager leaving than a player leaving, put it that way.

If Laudrup left after a season, it would have meant we'd done well anyway.

Not getting Laudrup was a HUGE mistake on the part of Williams.

The squad is unbalanced, lacks a cutting edge, no wingers to speak of, still has room for a 37 year-old, no decent strikers beyond Benni and Santa, too many injuries, too many suspensions, and is suffering from a lack of investment.

I'd say we were up the creek at the minute.

I remember when Ince was appointed and a handful of members did not think Ince would be any good myself included, the rest of the people said wait and see how he does after how many games, has he had enough, wouldn't we be better off with Sam's long ball, or are you waiting to see if Ince will perform better when we are in a lower division? I could say I told you so but there are still people in denial!

One thing that annoys me about the pro-Incies is their hypocrisy. If we compare Ince's work with Mark Hughes', they'll tell us that Hughes has gone and we have to move on. But if Ince loses against a certain team or makes a dodgy transfer, they'll quickly bring up some of Hughes' lesser moments. Make your minds up, people!

I'm still maintaining a positive atitude which is neither pro nor anti Ince. I wish the Hughes comparisons would stop completely. I think they were started by the anti-Incers as a way of getting at Ince and then it has escalated from there. Hughes is long gone.
