CaliRoverNYC Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Hi, I'm trying to put together an American Supporters group for Blackburn. Since i'm based in NYC I'd love to get a group together to watch games together in the city, preferable at Nevada Smiths. In NYC my ambitions are very modest in that I would be excited even to get 5 or 6 Rovers supporters together for a couple matches. This would also give UK Rovers supporters a place to watch the match while in NYC. As for the US in general, I'd like to set up a website that could put Rovers supporters in touch with each other wherever thay may live, and eventually I'd like to plan yearly trips to Ewood for any and all Rovers supporters on this side of the atlantic. If anyone is interested or knows of someone else doing something like this please resond to this thread or message me. Thank You, Jay

American Rover12 Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Hey I'd be down and would help it whatever way I could. I live only about 20 mins outside of NYC in Jan and May-Sept. And now I'm only about 20 mins outside of philly.
Hughesy Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Sounds good mate. You could use moonfruit to set your website up, very easy and quick to use with lots of good templates available for use.

Thank You, Jay I've been too lazy to organise this, but I've wanted to get a team of Americans over for the 5 a side tournament at the end of the season. Once things have settled down a bit, I'll PM you to discuss.
Tris Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 For the England game this Saturday ... any suggestions for a good venue to watch it in New York? Somewhere with decent food would be good seeing as it's at lunchtime ... cheers
American Rover12 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Not 21 so don't know a lot about these places but hopefully this will help. List of Pubs in NY with FSC showing the game
Mike Graham Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 For the England game this Saturday ... any suggestions for a good venue to watch it in New York? Somewhere with decent food would be good seeing as it's at lunchtime ... cheers Tris, try Patrick Kavanaghs; I got well and truly piffed in there watching Rovers win at Newcastle last season...even better when the wife is a Toon fan !!!
USRoverME Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 NYC is a bit far from Delaware for any regular "event" I I'm likely not much help...
berkshireblue Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 tris I usually watch sport in clancys bar when over in NY
benlloninho Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 On a slightly related note, I was wearing my Rovers top one night here in Athens and this dude walks up and shows me the Burnley crest tattoo'd on his arm what is that about? Most unpredictable event. Ever. Fact.
Tris Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Cheers for the ideas folks ... change of plan though, we're off to Atlantic City so will catch the game down there ...
dew22 Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 can't make it to NYC, but will help in any other capacity....
Rovers in America Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 I'd help any with the supporters organization. I'm a Fort Worth-Dallas Rover fan, as is Hypo-Luxa. I'd definitely like to do a trip to Ewood, which will be more feasible once I'm graduated from college in December and have a real form of employment on salary.
