philipl Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Martins has hurt his knee and is out for six weeks. Apparently David O'Leary fancies taking on the Toon job.

Mr Creosote Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 All of the above points to a "Rovers Moment" on saturday afternoon. 2-1 to The Barcodes.
Saltysellars Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Heading off there tomorrow from Halifax- Should hit Newcastle around 12:45. Two hours drinking- a bite to eat and then hopefully to see some more Chuckle brothers defending from the Toon. To me to you- Bu**er
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Yup, misses the Newcastle and Man Utd games. Hopefully back in time for Bolton.
roversmum Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 No problem. I wouldn't want to tangle with Jason Brown and hopefully neither will they!
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Newcastle win against the odds,we all know its going to happen folks!! Robbo out for two weeks according to SSN. Oh dear oh dear!!
joey_big_nose Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 It's a bit rubbish to lose the keeper just when everyone was settling down a bit. We do have good competition though - Brown, Bunn and Bussman. I really want to see Warnock start in the centre again and Emerton to play on the right (Pedersen is awful out there). Olsson can come in at left back. I am excited about Rovers at the moment, we have loads of attacking talent.
G Somerset Rover Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Brown has never let us down in the short time that he actually has played for us, so here's hoping he puts in another solid stint tomorrow. If Oba Martins is out that is great news. He tore us to pieces a couple of years back at Ewood. We will defy our "help teams out tag" tomorrow: Geordies 0 Rovers 1 Winterburn's finally turning us into the Arsenal of old!
Hughesy Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Its disapointing but I think Brown can do well, time for him to prove it! Id go with a team of: Brown Simpson - Zurab - Samba - Ollson Emerton - Tugay - Warnock - Pedersen ------------- King Carlos----------------- ------------- Santa Cruz----------------- It gives us pace at full backs and also good defensive support from our wingers. It also keep thr creativity in midfield and gives Roque better support.
T4E Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 SSN reckons Hoddle might be in the frame to takeover them
ABBEY Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 just heard on t'radio them nigerians want keegan back...its better than fawltey towers .Even Basil wasnt this far fetched.
Claytons Left Boot Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Even Stan has turned them down. They offered him two Ferarris on top of his salary but he wouldn't budge.
Nelsta Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Newcastle in need of a miracle, Cue the Rovers charity roadshow. Newcastle 4 - 0 Rovers.
Bobby G Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Interesting that Ince hasnt ruled out playing Bunn in goal. Would be a huge blow to Brown and I can see a lot of pressure on Bunn if he is thrown into St. James Park. Cant see it myself.
ally Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Jo Kinnear appointed interim manager although Chris Houghton will be in charge tomorrow!!
Mr Creosote Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Joe Kinnear.........hahahahaha That will no doubt bite us on the @rse.
Ricky Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Its very fitting that they end up with a manager called Joke In 'Ere lol
percy Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 fair play to 'em, the level of consistency is superb, if they could only entertain their own fans as well as they do other fans all round the country. Rovers to play the better football against Newcastle tomorrow, but lose 1-0 when Owen gets left unmarked by Nelsen for no reason to score a simple header from 4yards out. Another generous donation from the BRFC 'Team in Crisis' Charity Roadshow, as nelsta mentioned........ Cue Goals on Sunday to devote the whole show to the amazing footballing phenonimum that is Michael Owen scoring a headed goal, despite only being 4ft tall......again.
T4E Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 That will no doubt bite us on the @rse. Yeah, no doubt.
OJRovers Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I think the first 20 mins of this game are the most important, if we keep the ball and frustrate them their fans will start to get restless and the team will get edgy - First goal is key, we score first then we could run riot, if they score their fans are going to go crazy. I'd take a nil nil. But my prediction: 3-1 to Rovers
