joey_big_nose Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Interesting. I wonder if we realy are going to play a 442? It could be 433 with a lineup like that, or 4231? Will be interesting.

cn_barlow Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 It's refreshing to have a manager who is prepared to make changes. The left hand side does look strong offensively, but King Carlos may leave us a little exposed. 0-2
Lurid Coat Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Would have liked to see Treacy given a chance in the starting XI against Newcastle, but I'm still positively surprised that Ince has been prepared to make a lot of changes to the side.
novella Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Bench looks pretty strong too, can change it around if things go wrong.
RoverJoexx Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I think Ince is going to make some heads turn now cos he's not a conventional type of manager!! We're really in for an exciting time under his reign!! I'm being optimistic now by changing my prediction. Going for a 2-0 Rovers win. Com'on let's stuff those bunch of miserables!!
RoverRich Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Bench looks pretty strong too, can change it around if things go wrong. I agree especially compared to their bench who I wouldn't have thought would be able to make much of an impact if things aren't going their way/
McClarky Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 This team looks so exciting, brave almost to the point of foolhardyness. I really hope it doesn't go wrong because Ince will be asked a lot of questions for making so many changes from last week. I support him though as I reckon this is a far better team with Carlos and Tugay pulling the strings and Warnock doing all the running in midfield. Cum on u Blues!
Mr. E Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 dammit Ince why Nelsen and Samba??? Didn't Oiijer and Zurab just prove that they are 100% more reliable? I have no faith whatsoever in our central defense.
1864roverite Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Personally, I would have left Tugay on the bench to bring him on when we need it as the game opens up int he second half. Looking at the barcode 11 its a team full of experience, they on paper look like a solid team with Butt pulling the midfield and Owen up front. Rovers look a strong side across the middle and we know we can score goals. I just hope the defence turns up today. Got myself an open text at the game from a mate as I attend a family function (apart from the times I am listening on t'radio/internet).
Plastic Head Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Can't believe both the centre backs got back in. No MGP a massive positive. Can't see another clean sheet with Samba and especially Nelsen in.
Amo Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 It's a 4-5-1 Brown Simpson Samba Nelsen Olsson Emerton Tugay Warnock Villanueva Derbyshire Santa Cruz
Backroom Tom Posted September 27, 2008 Backroom Posted September 27, 2008 Sounds like Derbyshire is doing his best to prove he in fact isn't the 'best natural finisher at the club' lets hope he proves me wrong eh? Sounds like we're on top but I'm always uncomfortable when we have plenty of chances and don't take them.
rovers1993 Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 SAMBA!!!! HAHAHA what a ball from villanueva!!! samba with a magnificent header! haha come on incey's army!
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 SAMBA!!!! HAHAHA what a ball from villanueva!!! samba with a magnificent header! haha come on incey's army! Great freekick from carlos, and a decent finish from big chris.
pksrover Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Get in Samba Really good goal!! Btw, has any Rovers World users got any problems with the Radio coverage today? Can't get it to work.
rovers1993 Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 defence looking extremely solid now... and we're attacking potently with lots of chances just need to put em away and we'll be fine.
Exiled_Rover Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 defence looking extremely solid now... and we're attacking potently with lots of chances just need to put em away and we'll be fine. It's because we have pace on the field now - Olsson, Simpson, Derbyshire, Emerton and Warnock can all move which means you don't get caught out half as much when the opposition have the ball. Jinxing it, but we've looked good today. Villenueva's set pieces are a cut above anything we've seen for a good season (after Pedersen forgot how to take them).
rovers1993 Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 ince has got the formation spot on... we're controlling the game and olsson is just enjoying every minute, having another game of his life. villanueva is living up to everything literally, he's involved in everything. this is just a joy to watch. so much cutting and lovely passing.
RoverRich Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 We could wrap this game up with a second before half time and, with the way we are playing and controlling the game, there is no reason why we can't score another in the next 5mins And there it is haha!!!!!
rovers1993 Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 santa cruzzzzzz 2 -0 !!! woohooo!!! joy to watch as i said before!!!! emerton with a good ball in the box. villanueva also with another great intelligent pass to emerton. woah never seen this in a LONGG time.
