RibbleValleyRover Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Andre Ooijer motm ? I can see why some would pick Andre, but personally i would go for Olsson.

1864roverite Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Blobbie misses header, falls over and theres 3 minutes left
ally Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Blobby missed again - Brighton winning against money bags
imy9 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Fowler has been excellent tonight, his first start for nearly a year. Link up play has been good and he has got an assist for the goal.
1864roverite Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 4 mins over time??? wtf is all that about?
BuckyRover Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Fowler has been excellent tonight, his first start for nearly a year. Link up play has been good and he has got an assist for the goal. Yeah but he is fat and rubbish and Ince doesn't know anything and we won't beat anybody with that guy playing....
92er Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Tugay has got MOTM apparently Oojer and Zurab were also immense. Fowler has been excellent tonight, his first start for nearly a year. Link up play has been good and he has got an assist for the goal. Not according to Radio Lancs.
tchocky Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Result! Was almost spot on with my lineup prediction too Looks like we'll line up with the same back five as at the weekend, Tugay in for the cup-tied Andrews and Derbyshire in for either Roque or Roberts. Maybe even Villanueva and Derbs. Interesting bench with five central midfielders out, as well as Benni. Marshall on the bench again?
imy9 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Agreed. Ince has played Warnock in midfield, Olsson at left back and Treacy at left wing with Carlos on the wing- did it work? Hell YES!!! As I have stated a number of times Ince needs time but that was an excellent performance, two clean sheets in two and this was against a very strong Everton side. I have been listening to Radio Rovers and they have said and I quote "Robbie Fowler was a revelation" Robbie has done very well playing off Derbyshire and obviously he got an assist in the game too. He played, he got paid and he got an assist- my kind of deal
Blackpool_Rover Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Ive just been to the pub and i havent read anything about the game other than the score but i just wanna say that i love Zurab. He is by far our best center back and should be playing every week so im not surprised you describe him as immense tonight.
ally Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Good Result tonight especially seeing as some 1st teamers have been rested. With Villa, Fulham, Pompey, Boro, Everton, Newcastle, West Ham and possibly Man City should look like a good prospect for us this season. Seems to be encouraging about Fowlers link up play too. Newcastle next game could be easier than usual with their current predicament although the attendance should be interesting, only 20,000 there tonight!
Ossydave Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Well thats that then, another clean sheet too it seems, even with Brown in goal for the majority. We're blatantly going to get Arsenal in the next round though
novella Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 another clean sheet and a double already over everton. Things are shaping up nicely.
American Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Agreed. Ince has played Warnock in midfield, Olsson at left back and Treacy at left wing with Carlos on the wing- did it work? Hell YES!!! As I have stated a number of times Ince needs time but that was an excellent performance, two clean sheets in two and this was against a very strong Everton side. Flashbacks to the first match of Souey's last season with us.
novella Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Think the highlights might be comng up on sky sports news.
John Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Its all about results and this is an excellent one.
CornwallRover Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 We're blatantly going to get Arsenal in the next round though I was gonna say this, they looked even better than last year.
allrovertheworld Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Glad i was proven wrong. Sounds like some fringe players will give a good push for starting places and create good competition. Some good teams have gone out. Hope we get Burnley away. EDDIE MURPHYS BLUE AND WHITE ARMY!
Amo Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I was gonna say this, they looked even better than last year. You never win anything with kids.
Mr. E Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Sounds like Fowler made some good passes but made poor finishes. It'd be interesting to see if he gets another chance.
novella Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 just saw the goal was a tidy bit of play and a good finish. happy with that.
grizfoot Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Anyone got any stats on how many goals we've conceded when Zurab and Ooijer have been our centreback partnership. I'd imagine it wouldn't be that many. Just hope we avoid the big four in the draw (probably won't happen).
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 City are out, well done Brighton!
