Never mind all that Dave.... you can go on bended knee to pray for the greedy bugggers if you like but I certainly won't.

Has it not occurred to you that he may have been talking about the club, not the players? If the club is doing well, then the general feeling in the community is better, not just among the football following fans.

Ergo, if the club is doing well, communtiy feels good and that has got to be a positive for the district.

As an aside, theno, given that the players give their time to help (or whatever) the disadvantaged, do you ever give of your free time to offer comfort to anyone, or are you still on the golf course?

Portsmouth chairman Peter Storey was on the radio this morning in response to rumours of a fire sale at Fratton Park. He sniffyly told the press to lay of with reports of impending financial problems and dismissed tabloid tales as being "a load of rubbish."

West Ham are right up poo creek according to that link a few posts ago. Who the hell would want to pay £150m for a club and then have to fork out anoter load of cash to write off debts in a time of recession? Ray Winstone and Trevor Brooking don't have that sort of money. If someone did buy them, it would probably be some rich egomaniac with no patience and a desire to control everything within the club.

Did I hear right this morning on Five Live?

West Spam owner has less than 48 hours to sell the club otherwise he is bankrupt?

Bloody Hell!

"We're forever bursting bubbles..."

So, if they do, instant points deduction and where does that leave Sheff U's compo claim?

On a positive note, we'd be 3rd bottom...

How much debt do West Ham have?

Iv just seen that Pompey have a reported £32m debt, and there owner has already said he isnt putting any more of his own cash in.

I can't find the source but I was under the impression that Portsmouth were £95m in debt

..Great news about West Ham !

Oh so ironic if this is the season that they go down and Sheff Utd come up

Here is something on 606

Portsmouth : £30 million trading debt and a £95 million debt due to the owner.

No offers for the club even at £1 plus the debt.

One of the worst grounds in the top 3 leagues and no sign of planning for a new ground, never mind a ground.

Owner wants out.

Land in London, near where a lot of building is going to happen for the Olympics? If they can be bought for 150m, it would be a bargain. Would love to see them lose 9 points, but it aint gonna happen.

Edit: They are in a similar position to Chelsea when Roman bought them. Can be had for a comparative song due to debt, but have some good assets to make it worth it.

Are we still going to be able to afford the Olympics? :o 150m will only be a bargain if rampant inflation makes the £ emulate the Duetschmark in the 1920's great depression.

Forgot about the land and the Olympics. Surely if you were the heartless, ruthless sort, you'd buy the club, and the land of they own, then let the club die. Sure, you'd hav Ray Wnistone and a few friends wanting to pay you a visit, but you'd save a bit on the running costs and serving any debts West Ham have. Hard times can bring out the worst of these business people.

Short people are often shifty though. Pol Pot, Stalin, Tom Cruise, Hitler, Jerry off Tom and Jerry.........................

:lol::lol:

That should be on a T-shirt. After Castell takes his percentage we could use the copyright proceeds to pay for the site. ;)

Just one thing on Pompey Earlydoors, Portsmouth HAVE put in planning permission for a new stadium on the outskirts of the City just aside of the motorway as you drive into the City. Obviously theres a delay with money, but also the road infrastructure has to be put into place before work can begin to be carried out.
