dingles staying down 4ever Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 no no and once again no Dreadful....what is wrong with the traditional Irish version
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Unfortunately 'The wild Rover'(or rather a version of it) is an anthem of that lot at the cobbled end of the M65 and has been since the late 70's. I'm sure some budding musicians/Rovers fans could compose better for the club.
gumboots Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 no no and once again no Dreadful....what is wrong with the traditional Irish version when I dared to criticise it on the official site my post disappeared!
Cocker Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I wouldnt mind if they had it on the site with it sung as 'Blackburn Rover' instead of 'Wild Rover' but no, I wont be getting that.
roverthemoon Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Its catchy and most fans know the tune and can sing along. Its not meant to be top of the pops stuff or heavy metal or whatever. These lads have made an effort and all they get is moan moan moan. Lets hear what you moaners can come up with.

These lads have made an effort and all they get is moan moan moan. Lets hear what you moaners can come up with. It is important that the moaners are not driven away from this website as their role is very important. They are carrying on a very English tradition-moaning plays a big role in the English pysche. How do I know this? I heard it today on Radio 4. So, just as there is a role for younger, positive people it is also official that there is a role for the moaners.

To all the moaners please accept my sincere apologies for my outrageous and badly researched post. I promise it will never be repeated.

Frisky Jim Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 A shocking version of the song. The lead singer sounds like Morrissey with a cold. Woeful.
