You were obviously not looking for it Fife.

I never go looking for it Maureen. In the '70s I had two young sons along with me at all the matches so I was not interested in trouble makers and far more interested in avoiding both their trouble and their filthy language.

Longsider is a burnley fan who needs to post his thoughts on a burnley website, if you like to read them why not join burnleyfc.co.uk

As for getting gates lower than 23k??? are you for real? we used to get gates of 5-8k every week FFS before the bandwagon jumpers joined the parade. So to say they deserted the good ship BLACKBURN ROVERS couldn't be further from the truth.

I do know that but |'m talking in relative terms and have stated I think our attenances are good for the size of town...I said in another thread that I think Jack and his advisors got the figures wrong when they went for such a big stadium...And I also did realise that Lonsider was a Burnley fan...that was obvious..:unsure:

More than a third of the seasons we have spent in the PL, our average gates have been higher than the capacity of the stadium design Jack rejected in favour of the one built.

It would have been better for the look of the stadium to have gone with it though philipl...but we will all always be greatfull to Jack for what we have...

I'll be there for the last three matches...sometimes we should not moan about what we have...If it a great success hopefully this will bring down prices agin and get more fans out...We wiould rather see Rovers fans in the Darwen end than filled with Mancs or Scoucers...

If it had been a 24,000 capacity stadium I would be seriously worried about getting a ticket for Sunday's game with the success of the Darwen End promotion.

I hate to say this Philip but who is to say the 3/4000 sales are not just the regular matchday buyers taking advantage of the offers?

Lets all hope they are extra fans coming out of the woodwork on top of the regular 18/19,000 home fans.

SAR you are equally as immature in taking Gavs corner against Fife. You should be ashamed of yourself. Fife has made good points and has much to offer in his memories of the spirit and rivalry that our derby matches used to be played. As opposed to those since the 70's where collective ignorance, bad manners and boorish behaviour took over from attaining wealth and properity as the primary life ambition of the young in urban areas. It's plain to see why your days as a mod were short and sweet.

I must echo Paul here http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/index.php?showto...&start=1300 Accusing ADB of playground antics on an Ask Admin thread and then resorting to them yourself with your last sentence. Tut tut Gordon.

Are you sure you aren't a Burnley fan? No wait it's Lanc.arshire U.n.ited isn't it? :wstu:

When you are in a hole cock... stop digging. Your comments toward Fife were completely unwarranted and thats that.

I disagree and how you can think "get over yourself Fife" is completely unwarranted is simply beyond comprehension .

Your comments towards Gav and many other board members leaves a lot to be desired so spare me the lecture thanks.

Alright cock?

While I wouldn't want to deny you a ticket philip if this was the case it would be an excellent situation. Far better to have greater demand than supply, our problem largely revolves supply far outstripping demand.

Bleedin hell Gav, whats wrong, find my post to logical to pick apart so you go down a different route.

Jesus I've been coming on here for about 4 1/2 years now. I don't post often, just when something comes up that seems relevant. I don't abuse anybody, don't abuse Rovers but I do like to shoot the breeze now and then with our nearest and dearest.

You know I often see (in various guises) Burnley fans and the town being accused of being insular yet when someone wishes to gather opinion from outside his own teams fan base you go on a moan?

For the record I like to get opinion from here on our performances because there will never be another set of fans who will be more grudging in any praise for a Burnley performance than Rovers fans. As such I find it a really useful balance because like all fans I can easily get carried away with what I see as a great performance.

Still, maybe you are right and I should stay away for a while. Some Rovers fans, like you, are clearly getting a little bit nervous that Burnley may actually currently have a half decent team and even have a slim chance of some small success this season.

Stay awhile LS.

I've always been a rovers fan, but had the odd admiration for Bumley, even went to those early days of European football against Werder Bremen with schoolmates.

The funniest burnley moment for me? Ray Pointer running. Head down looking at his feet, and not where he was going.

My father in law was always a Burnley fan. I always respected him from when I got married, his wife died a couple of weeks before my good wife and I tied the knot. He wanted everything to go ahead. What his mates and rellos did to help him get over his loss, on a day that was our great day, was to take him to Turf Moor to watch Burnley after the reception.

So, to those that don't like Burnley, remember that it's easier to travel to Burnley than many other teams in the country. They may not be great, but we weren't great when I left England in 1969.

There but for the grace of uncle Jack go we.....

Don't be such a sensitive soul.

If you post on a Blackburn website, you’re always running the risk of getting some abuse. Whilst the Burnley sympathy society on here will have you believe different, you’re our local rivals and most want nothing but failure for each and every one of you.

I don’t want to read about your play off ambitions and I don’t want to know who you fancy in the play offs.

Hope my position is clear, if you don’t like it may I suggest a burnley website for posts talking about your play off amibitions.

:rover: it's very possible bumley will get promoted this year, they are in form but have a very small squad.if the dingles got promoted, would they totally revamp their squad,or give the buggars who got them promoted a chance to shine in the premier.worst thing that could happen is the buggars get promoted ans we get relagated,i would say there is a 20% chance of that scenario happening, but we are talking football here :brfcsmilie:

.

Oh and if you want to know why our support is evaporating

1. The Prem and the CL have ensured that the only competition that we are ever going to be in is an annual battle against relegation. How is that expected to nourish support in the area? Young people are rarely attracted to losers they only crave association with winners.

2. Go and look in the local pubs around match days where I'm sure that you will find plenty of the less committed fans. especially those around the Rishton area perhaps?

.

:rover: I'm sure the pubs that are frequented by golf loving bmw driving individuals are busier on match days too gord :brfcsmilie:
