Ossydave Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Am I alone in thinking that it would be good if Burnley went up? Mainly just because we haven't had a "proper" local derby in what seems like ages. That's my take on it yes, and the easy 6 points.

Blue n White Rover Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 That's my take on it yes, and the easy 6 points. I'd be very happy, although I'd not be as confident of 6 points as I was last time we shared a division with 'em. I'd also be happy if Preston manage it. The beauty of opinions I take Ossydave's view on it
nicko Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Funnily enough he did a question and answer session in Sabden recently, I wasn't there, but someone who was has posted on claretsmad that he said he had turned down 3 job offers while with us. Can't say if it's true but no one else has disputed it. It's not true.
Blue n White Rover Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 It's not true. Why would he lie then? Is it something that happens gradually overtime being a Dingle?
Hasta Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 If Newcastle went down and Shearer did bugger off that would be a rather attractive job for Coyle I would imagine provided that he could work under Ashley. After having Burnley fans jumping with glee at our season having a disastrous ending and there's being a success it would be rather pleasing should they actually screw it up on Sunday and North End made the play offs.
nicko Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Why would he lie then? Is it something that happens gradually overtime being a Dingle? He wouldn't have said that...the story isn't true and the approaches are not true.
No Nay Never Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 He wouldn't have said that...the story isn't true and the approaches are not true. My boss at work was also at the Owen Coyle questions and answer session and also said there had been three approaches for him whilst at Burnley.

nicko Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 My boss at work was also at the Owen Coyle questions and answer session and also said there had been three approaches for him whilst at Burnley. Just checked with the horse... What Owen said was that he had turned down three approaches while he was at St.Johnstone before he took the Burnley job. There have been no approaches since he has been in charge at Burnley.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I would rather contract a sniffle from Mexico than those b******s win anything.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 A Dingle mate was on the phone for an hour today trying to get tickets, but they've sold out. Well, that's what they say.

No worries, I did think three approaches in the time he had been at Burnley was a bit much, he has done a very good job with a limited budget but I do think its maybe been a touch early for him to step up to the premier. See what the summer brings.
thenodrog Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I don't. Just read to see if anyone was discussing the Lancashire Utd thing in this thread. After all people don't mind mergers being discussed just seems to be takeovers that are annoying. I beg to differ! oh btw not takeovers at all it's you thats annoying and you know it.

Can't say if it's true but no one else has disputed it. He might have had but I'd put a lot of money on the fact than NONE were from Premier League Clubs! Otherwise he'd have been off like a shot. He's done well at Burnley but they are absolutely borassic and as such he has likely taken em as far as he could.
T4E Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Plans to make the CSI:Burnley TV series have had to be scrapped after producers discovered that no one there had dental records and everyone had the same DNA......
T4E Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Got it by text from a mate, who likely got it from sickipedia.
Gav Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 A Dingle mate was on the phone for an hour today trying to get tickets, but they've sold out. Well, that's what they say. Complete and utter tosh, they've got 2000 tickets left in home areas for Sunday as of 4pm today, apparently. I need another focus, where's that **** nodrog

waggy Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 if reading get promoted on sunday, what about the goal that never was.never mind sheff utd going mad about tevis, reading gained a point from a goal that never was
T4E Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Great point waggy, can't believe no one else has mentioned that.
Blue n White Rover Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Great point waggy, can't believe no one else has mentioned that. Not really. Every club will then start to complain about "dodgy" descisions against them! They even themselves out over the remainder of the season. Take us for example. Vidic on Brown....Samba on Kirkland. It happens, it's what makes football a great sport to watch. They'd be no debate if the game was played by the rules. Suck the fun out of football.
T4E Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 That was a millions miles away from being just another "dodgy decision". The "it evens itself out" arguement is completely devoid of any science or logic. They may do, or then again they may not. If the officials get the decisions right in the first place then we wouldn't have to debate it.
waggy Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 reading were on fire when they played watford, they could have easily let watford walk the ball in the net.i hope they do not go up,cheats should never prosper

What's the difference though if a clear offside goal is given ala Tevez VS Rovers, and the goal in the Reading Watford game? They were both given, they were both mistakes by the ref. If that game was replayed then i'd want the Rovers V West Ham game to be replayed.
