If they hadn't allowed Preston to score 6 against them they wouldn't have been in that position in the first place. Similarly, all they needed to do was draw with Sheff Weds and they would have been in the playoffs.

Only themselves to blame, shocking bottling job.

Same could have been said about Birmingham if they failed to make the automatic promotion spot, they could have won there games and that "dodgy" Reading goal wouldn't have mattered.

So why people were debating the importance of that decsision is beyond me. We get "dodgy" descisions every week, maybe not in the same manner, but it's blatant in some cases.

Agree with you though, who would've thought the 6 goals PReston got past them would be so crucial. If I remember rightly, Cardiff also missed a penalty that game?

It was a shocking performance to be honest, and if they hadn't played so badly they wouldn't have dropped out of the playoff spots. Based on their recent form they don't deserve a playoff position and I very much doubt they would have made it past the first round. It's very strange though, considering how good they were at the beginning of the season. Their fans must be gutted.

I can't understand how anybody wants the Dingles to go up? Just thought of them getting to the 'new Wembley' before us is gut wretching - heart pain inducing thought. Let them get beat off Sheff United and Nob End get promoted.

You may be, but we have our fair share of members who can't spell, use grammar correctly or punctuate- to the chagrin of a number of us!

Let's get a win at Pompey on Saturday so I can start cheering Burnley on. That might sound odd, but our rivalry has been virtually non-existent in recent times, and I'd love us to have the opportunity to play (and beat) them in the Premier League next season. If I can't have Burnley, I'll take Preston.

Furthermore, much like Rovers, neither are in an especially good financial position and would, IMO, almost certainly be scrapping it out at the bottom of the table next season. With the likes of Wolves, Birmingham, Sheffield United and Reading all having played in the Premier League in recent years and with far more extensive financial resources, I think they'll stand a better chance of surviving and would prove a bigger threat to our Premier League status.

After a debate last week about Reading's "dodgy" goal. I'd like to pose forward a question to those who were against me.

Do Cardiff have the right to appeal to the F.A about any dubious goal they have had against them?

They missed out on the play offs by virtue of Preston scoring one more goal.

Discuss :)

No.

Cardiff should not even be in the Championship anyway - they are a Welsh Club, along with Swansea.

Presty?

Burnley should dispose of Reading over two legs fairly easily, I think we are the in form team and should go up. With any luck we'll draw Rovers at TM on the first day of next season and revese the 5-0 defeat from oh sooo long ago.

I can't really see any other team going up, the way we have played this season we deserve it more than all of the others, just ask any Arsenal or Chelsea supporters.

People talk of us going bust (yawn) but it's quite obvious to most that when Rovers go down next year that will be the end of them also.

If you deserved to go up you'd be 1st or 2nd. As it stands you're one of four clubs that have earnt the right to attempt to go up, nothing more and nothing less.

They spoilt a good set of teeth when they put a mouth in your arse didn't they mate.

Will enjoy watching you crash and burn in the Prem next season (cause I got a feeling you'll manage the playoffs), just remember you can't live off a flukey cup run forever (although we all know we'll never hear the last of it.)

That's it then. It's in the bag. I would say "Well done burnley" and "Congratulations" but there's enough insincerity about in the world already.

"Next year" now is it? That's a bit if a recurring theme for you lot isn't it? It's always next year.

Whilst you're predicting the future I'll have a go. burnley miss out in the play offs, losing to Reading. Slightly disappointed Coyle takes a job in the Premier League in the summer and takes one or two players with him. The rest of the squad break up as well and join other Tier 2 clubs. burnley replace Coyle with Paul Ince. burnley lose the first game of the season at home to Doncaster 3-0. Gates start to drop off and the massive attendances of 14K this season become nothing but a distant memory. It all goes pear shaped and Ince is eventually sacked in February with burnley 20 points adrift at the foot of the table (he just needed more time).

Then again, if I'm being briefly honest it wouldn't surprise me if you did go up this year. While I'd relish the derby games and the six points I'd much rather the above paragraph happened instead.

I dont care what anybody says, I like Mr Droga.

Check out the slack jawed yokel under his elbow btw!:lol:

Just what I thought when I saw it :)

I wish I was as confident as my fellow Claret. Reading have not been in the best form, that mcuh is true. That said they have some very good players at this level and frankly hammered us at the Turf this year (yes I know we won 1-0 but to this day I have no idea how).

In the event that we do get past a very good Reading we then face either PNE of Sheff Utd. PNE have gone into the play offs in absolutely top form, having won their last 4 (including games against promotion hopefuls Cardiff and Birmingham - who of course ultimately went up) scoring 12 goals in those 4 games whilst Sheff Utd are a big ugly unit with some very good players. Yes they were poor in the recent game against us but they still made it very very difficult for us.

At this point I am simply pleased to have got into the play-offs having enjoyed a rare season where the football has been good, a decent cup run and still something to play for come May. Lets deal with Saturday first and then go from there. A long long way to go before we can even think about playing your lot next season.
