tony gale's mic Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Worst thing to think about is if Ince was still in charge. This would probably have been my worst night as a Rovers fan... No, that wouldve come about 4 games ago when our relegation from the league wouldve been confirmed.

Backroom Tom Posted May 12, 2009 Backroom Posted May 12, 2009 That makes 3 Burnley players that should have walked
bennyboyt11 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 The thought of the Dingles getting their hands on 35m plus of Sky cash next season makes me feel physically sick. Imagine the (very remote) possibility of having the dingles as our last game of next season, and we get to put the final nail in their relegation coffin
Manc Rover Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Don't worry, it will all end in tears at Wembley! Staying down forever!
Guest benmaxwell Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 2 excellent goals. Hope they get promoted to add some spice to the season, if only to see them struggle, but worringly can see this lot taking points off us next season unless we strengthen. Agreed. Reading are a way better team then Sheffield United... Granted Reading are missing 2 of their key players tonight, you can't deny Burnley are playing well... Just don't want to see Burnely in the big boys league, especially getting their hands on any money. Just hope that a bigger team makes an approach for Coyle... Their just talking about it now... Apparently Sheffield United have quite a few injury worries too...
Backroom Tom Posted May 12, 2009 Backroom Posted May 12, 2009 The fact is just getting promoted would be heaven for them no matter how badly they did. This is why it has to be avoided.
stuwilky Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Surely the most important question concerns whether or not Wembley will be big enough for the onset of the Dingles or will they all be locked outside?
OhmiBRFC Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 They'll probably not let any Sheff fans in as there will be too many Dingles.
bazza Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Imagine the (very remote) possibility of having the dingles as our last game of next season, and we get to put the final nail in their relegation coffin Or vice versa
Backroom Tom Posted May 12, 2009 Backroom Posted May 12, 2009 Ah screw it, this result will be buried in that bad archives for me as long as safety is secured on Saturday, we'll think about that lot when we have to. I'm resigned to the fact that they will come up now.
Clitherover Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Stopped watching now it's just too painful... One thing I did notice was they were singing 'no nay never will we play b******* rovers', does that mean that they don't actually want to get promoted then? Hmm true dingle logic at it's best.
Guest benmaxwell Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Just a thought, i know this is unlikely, but i wonder if Burnley are promoted, it might motivate the current Rovers owners to shell in a bit more cash. Being Lancs number 1 team has always been a certain trademark for the club. If we start getting beat by them, it's only going to push potential young fans away... It makes financial sense to make sure we have a decent squad next season to beat them...
Gav Posted May 12, 2009 Author Posted May 12, 2009 Surely the most important question concerns whether or not Wembley will be big enough for the onset of the Dingles or will they all be locked outside? My thoughts exactly.
ABBEY Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 er excuse me lads can we not talk about the dingles its upsetting vinjay because its small menatality and that....
Backroom Tom Posted May 12, 2009 Backroom Posted May 12, 2009 One last point on this sad issue, people are worried that they will overtake us next season, realistically we are in a far better starting position in terms of squad depth and quality and should be able to attract a higher quality of players. The only thing they will have going for them over us is adrenaline and determination which can go the way of Wigan or the way of Hull this season
adopted scouser Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Two fantastic goals, really top drawer. I'd give anything to see one of our lot score like that at the moment.
Hasta Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I said before the play offs that I thought Burnley were the best team and they've already played Sheff utd off the pitch recently. However it's a funny old game. Who's hosting the official bank holiday 'staying down 4 eva' party?
RevidgeBlue Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 One last point on this sad issue, people are worried that they will overtake us next season, realistically we are in a far better starting position in terms of squad depth and quality and should be able to attract a higher quality of players. The only thing they will have going for them over us is adrenaline and determination which can go the way of Wigan or the way of Hull this season The advantage they would have over us is that they would be building more or less from scratch and wouldn't have a lot of deadwood already on 20k + p.w. draining the life and soul out of the wage budget. Let's hope Sheff Utd. do us a favour and the Dingles remain the historical irrelevance they have been for the last generation or so.
Mr. E Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 The fact is just getting promoted would be heaven for them no matter how badly they did. This is why it has to be avoided. eh, I'm pretty sure that's what Hull thought too at the beginning, but if you listen at them now they're just as angry and as depressed as any of the other relegation-threatened teams.
beanie Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Did anyone else hear Thompsons laugh? What a dingle prick!
LeChuck Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Two fantastic goals, really top drawer. I'd give anything to see one of our lot score like that at the moment. Put them against second tier opposition and they probably would.
Backroom Tom Posted May 12, 2009 Backroom Posted May 12, 2009 As good as the strikes were I thought they were just swing and hopes. Theres a difference between when Tugay or Paul Scholes strikes one from outside the box to Mokoena or Patterson.
1864roverite Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Well 'nuff said, the trolls are heading south to Wembley. Lets be honet, if Readin ghad played for another 3 hours they woldnt have scored so bad was their team performance. Lets take a look at the Burnley superstars hoping to grab the Premiership lifeline and the road to riches. "Beast" aka jensen = fat waste of space who will be of use to the ground staff next season rolling the pitch during play. "Gyppo" aka Alexander, full back aged 37. Will set the best league in the world alight with his speed, haircut and beard. Caldwell - centre back with no speed. Carlisle - lumbering idiot, no pace no nouse and no hope in the Premiership. Kalvenes - Norwegian accident waiting to happen. Too slow and cumbersome. Will concede the record amount of free kicks ever. Duff - slow and inexperienced. Elliot - looked ok but too slow and no creativity. McCann - cant believe he is touted as a future star looke dawful. Blake - fat idiot. Paterson - good finish but it was only Hannaman. Thompson - Scottish striker who is 3rd rate at best. Subs - "Joey" gudjohnsson - never hacked it anywhere else why at Burnley ? Eagles - looks to be the only class player burnley have in their ranks, will probably move on. Rodrigues - homegrown inbred. Lacks quality. So, should the dingles make the promised land what does the future hold for them ? WANTED 15 mercenaries to help a survival fight ! I wonder if they will offer big money for the Axe ? a new 4 year deal for Tugay ? Bring Leighton and Kindon out of retirement homes and put Jimmy Mullen and John Bond back on the backroom staff pay roll ? Come on Sheffield, do them a favour will you
nicko Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Lets hope Mr Nixon and his gap closing talk isn't on here tonight Not needed... This Coyle chap is quite good.
stuwilky Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 This Coyle chap is quite good. He is indeed. He has worked wonders with a thin squad and managed to convert them into favourites for promotion. Still, 6 points next season guaranteed for t'Rovers eh Alan?!
