Reports surfacing from Burnley this morning say that they have already sold out their 30,000 ticket allocation for Wembley. Apparently both families will be on best behavior fully aware that heavy petting with their sisters and general inbreeding will not be socially acceptable outside of their small corner of Yorkshire.

You can smell the fear on this board.

Your time's up. It's over. Move aside.

Heard it before. Back in 2000/2001 I think.

Keep flapping your gums Jethro, it makes it all the more satisfying when The Blades beat you or we double you again next season.

Traffic warning on BBC this morning for people to avoid congestion around central Burnley as the locals struggle to follow their maps to actually find Turf Moor in order to get their tickets for the final. Apparently discovering the existence of the M65 has confused many.

Can any of our Burnley friends put this one to bed, according to some of my Clarrott work colleagues Burnley took 40,000 to the Sherpa van trophy final V Wolves back in '88.....I believe the attendance was the largest ever in the world for a final for this Mickey Mouse trophy.

I wonder if Burnley will sell all 37,000 this time around with prices up to 90 pound(?)

Like the atmosphere of the derby but have to agree with you there Rovermatt!

I can't answer on what the split was between Wolves and Burnley fans but the stat they are talking about is that final was the last game to have over 80,000 at Wembley (pre redevelopment of course). That said it is a bit misleading because I think the capacity was reduced after it.

As for all the questions about what have you to fear? Simply the possibility that you might lose. You may feel it is highly unlikely but it is not impossible - didn't Hull manage to get results at Chelsea and Arsenal, results that seemed highly unlikely at the start of the season?

I understand those that don't want us up etc etc but for me IF (the big, huge if) we do win the final I'm glad Rovers will still be in that division. For me those Derby games are what supporting small, local teams is all about. Its great to play the Man U's etc I'm sure but it will never come close to the nerve tingling, stomach churning anticipation of the derby games.

Clearly we won't outsell Sheffield United, population of Sheffield 530,000, population of Burnley 89,000.

:rover: you need to tell your manager the pop of bumley he thought it was 60k :brfcsmilie:

I don't think that there is much fear around. I see and sense a lot of disappointment that burnley have got to the play-off final because of the prestige and financial gain in getting there.

You are obviously very excited, I was in '92.

I just hope it goes as badly as possible for you. You get beat, no humiliated, by the blades. I hope that you lose your manager in the summer - he is obviously very talented to take his team this far - and I hope that there is major disruption and delay on the trains and huge traffic jams on the day. I hope that the beer is expensive, warm and flat.

:rover: bloody hell i've just realised if the dingles get in the premier i may have to watch a rovers match whilst lardarse is in charge :brfcsmilie:

Just look at all the fun you are already having and Burnley haven't been promoted yet, it will keep a certain section occupied all season!

Oh yeah, it beats pandering to your agenda.

Dingles in the Permier League, like the FA are going to allow that! Not cause they are inbred, because they owe Sheffield United BIG time.

There will be dodgy refereeing the like of which Rovers fans see most weeks against us.

Just think of all those decisions that went in favour of West Ham to keep them in the Prem. Yes the FA can do it, they will keep the Dingles out.

Things I’ve heard today:

“Only 2 tickets per booking, families can’t sit together, so we’re not going”

“It’s the ticket offices fault if we don’t sell out”

“Tickets will be gone by Monday”

“We took 37k against Wolves in 88”

“Stockport only sold 5k in the play offs, we sold 37k”

Not even a mention about the game or their possibilities of winning.

They only care about how many they’re taking/not taking, which sums em up.

Id like to see Burnley come up..One less relgation slot to worry about..An end of season match with Burnley would be just great..With two matches to go and their survival dependant on it....Good goals as they scored against Reading shots like those dont often go in..Perhaps they have used up their luck entitlement....

You are talking to the few.

The 2 ticket thing is a bit of an issue. I want to take my 3 sons but it means we may have to sit apart which does detract a little from the day.

If we don't sell out it is because not enough fans want to buy - well except for those very high priced ones which a lot (me included, would be over £400 for all 4 of us) could never afford. After the season ticket holders all sales are via the web/phone with a specialist ticket supplier dealing with them - I can't see there being any major problems. I hope a lot don't go so I can get my tickets. Not sure if we will sell out but I reckon the bulk of the sales will be done by Monday.

The Stockport game was a funny one. As I recall we did sell around 36,000 and Stockport only around 7,500, though in their defence I think it was the 4th year in a row they'd made it - or something similarly ridiculous. Wembley was a strange sight that day with half the ground full of Claret and Blue and then what looked like a tiny pocket of Blue and white over in the corner.

As for the game itself, I think a lot of focus at the moment is on arranging tickets, transport etc etc. If anybody else is like me then they don't wish to think to much about the game. It is as giddy goat says, very exciting but also nerve racking. We are up against it, little old Burnley against the might of the Steel City with some observers suggesting Sheff Utd getting up will right a wrong (yeah, as opposed to them simply winning a few more points themselves at the time). We may find we are victim to some strange decisions etc and may well be out played and comprehensively beaten on the day. Then again we may just hang on in there and score 2 incredible goals like we did on Tuesday - who knows.

So you will come to see the dingles? I think your finally showing your true colours and they appear to be claret.

Explains a lot.

Similar situation when we played Leicester and had similar feelings - then again we did appear to get the rub of the green (and a generous ref) that Speedie day

Nah, I think YOU only care about how many we're taking/not taking. You're obsessed.

Admit it, you'll be scouring the local media for days, trying to uncover any signs of unsold tickets.

I hope we only sell 3,500 and Gav explodes.

I've got mine and after that, I couldn't give a f**k if we never sell another.

Ahh, don't worry, longsiders1882. They won't notice.

And if you're feeling a bit lonely yourself, just look around you and feel that warm glow as you realise you are just one big happy family.

Enjoy your day and make sure you make a racket with that clarrot and blue rattle of yours.

I know there's a lot of spleens bursting all over this thread, but I'm all for the idea of a season of Clarrot-filled mirth.

Should that scenario come to pass waggy .You just wait at home I'm sure that the club will send a car, a driver and a ticket for you. Don't panic if they are a little late. ;)

There are two teams in Sheffield remember longsider. Don 't forget also that both clubs have a large hinterland of small towns and villages to take into account.
