Fife have you thought your sugary nostalgic stance through properly, Burnley are almost borassic and how you can even think that handing our rivals a minimum of £60m over the next two seasons is a good thing is absolutely and totally beyond me.

Someone should make this their signature, sums the craziness of the whole thing up quite nicely.

Just two problems with that Theno: Firstly they are not going to get two seasons in the PL.

Secondly (and this may come as surprise to you) there are far more important things than money in this world.

If Coyle doesn't get a sizable wedge to improve his playing stock, you may well be right, Fife.

The owners of Bumley will want some of the paydirt that is the PL to pay off some of their previous inputs.

If he's left with little to play with, he may not want to tarnish a burgeoning reputation with a struggle.

From what I've read, it could literally be promotion or bust for the dingles on Bank Holiday Monday.

The 'drog's United dream could be coming closer and we will all be embracing the dingles at Ewood next season....

But they are turning their youth sytem around and beginning to produce young talent for their club something that we sem to be idling along at.

See the ex Clitheroe grammar school boy Martin Dobson and ex players Paishley and Oversson and the rest of their youth set up are starting to show rewards dont tell rover6 though B) .

The likes of Swindon and Barnsley were probably poorer interms of being all round much less equipped to be in the PL, then there was Wimbledon...

However, I doubt any club has come up with the Directors' begging bowl extended in the way Kirby and Flood will be looking/needing to cash out if Burnley get up.

I think Gordon may have been referring to the parachute payments they'll get once they're relegated.

My dream is for BRFC to be one of the giants for very many years Gunner. Always has been.

Lanky Utd is more a vision of what must eventually be if we are not all going to see our offspring worshipping false gods at the Old Trafford alter whilst our local clubs wither and die out of existence.

You and I, and most others on this MB, will be long dead before that particular vision of yours transpires.

The only way it could ever happen is if two or more larger Lancashire teams are about to go bust at the same time. It's never, ever going to happen whilst we're in the Premier League and the likes of Burnley and Preston are pushing to get there. We're all doing far better than a lot of teams from big Cities - why change that now? There's absolutely no evidence to suggest 'we' would be more competitive as Lancashire Utd.

I can't believe I've just made a serious post on the subject.

I want them to be stuffed by Sheffield (who should never have been relegated).

What a croc of ######. They were relegated because they didn't get enough points, they were poor.

The whole saga over Tevez is a joke, th idea that he is the reason they got relegated. I know this has been covered endlessly but should Blackburn now be sued by Liverpool because that thug Lucas Neill broke one of their players leg in a shocking challenge - thus potentially costing them the Premier League title?

Oh no, one player does not a team make. Whatever else has happened, Sheffield United were relegated because they were easily one of the worst 3 teams in the Premier League that season.

Lolongsider yes The whole saga over Tevez was a joke, he should hot have been playing for spam. As it has been said numerous times on here he scored so many crucial goals for spam which saved them. I bet if your lot had been on the receiving end? you would have a different point of view.

Not the thread for this debate but you seem to be advocating that it can be argued that one single player makes or breaks a season.

As such I expect Sheffield United to be sued by Barnsley who were without there best player and record signing for the season as a result of the actions of their employees. I am sure Barnsley feel that with Hume in the team they would have been at least in the top 6 - maybe even top 2.

What nonsense.

One single player can make or break a season, admittedly these are special cases, but Tevez was West Ham's best player by a country mile. He was easily worth more than 3 points to them in the time he was there. How you can dispute any of that is beyond me.

Well, I still think that we're owed money by West Ham, as the actions of Tevez when they beat us helped them to win that game. That cost us a league place...

It's not that simple though. If West Ham played any other teams around us with Tevez in their side and took points from them, then they'll have a case too.

The only way to work out who owes what we be to recalculate the table having turned all West Ham games involving Tevez into defeat for the Hammers.

Was he? He scored 7 goals and only scored goals in 3 games that resulted in a win for West Ham. Zamora scored far more than he did.

So, briefly thats how I can dispute all of that. Let me see your evidence for 'he was West Hams best player by a country mile' - it's funny because for the first 3/4 of the season his lack of scoring was something of a national joke. Now if you wish to argue that his contribution from March onwards was more significant of course you may do so. Football results should be decided on the field and nowhere else.

Football results should be decided within the laws of the game.

I can't be bothered with this anymore, you're obviously on the wind-up.

The issue was not whether Tevez kept them up. It was the manner of the FA punishment. West Ham did wrong, got found out but were not punished with a point deduction as the FA deemed that it would lead to certain relegation.

Monday's game is decided on who scores the most after 90 minutes, not who has the biggest gripe about being relegated two years ago or who can construct the best conspiracy theory.

It all counts for s**t at kick-off time, whatever the rights and wrongs.
