Longsiders, from this end of the world, enjoy the moment.

They don't come along too often for many anywhere.

Have a good time, don't be too disappointed.

Remember, you could have been a Manc supporter living in Bumley

Yes - Iv heard alot of Rovers fans are going drinking in Accy, just incase they lose! ha ha!

I've heard a daring bunch of Wovers fans are flying down to the capital, completing a fly past of Wembley, loop-the-looping around the Wembley Arch with banner in tow, flying straight back up to East Lancs, jettisoning said banner onto the motorway bridges of the M65 before landing in a field near Oswaldtwistle where they'll watch the remainder of the game whilst swilling 20 gallons of Uncle Jack's ale.

Should be quite something, up until we win.

Indeed. I find all the post Walkerites truely sad. They forget that until Jack came along you had won nothing since the FA cup in 1928. We won the title twice in the 80 years between your most recent successes (1913/1914 and 1993/1994).

Sure Jacks money has allowed you the upper hand in recent times - and certainly our own fall from grace allowed you that from the early 80's.

I love how the jealous inbreds go on about Jacks money as though we should feel ashamed lol. We got Jacks money, it bought us success so what.

We have felt success and come used to being a top flight Premier league club, many of us have been lucky enough to follow Rovers in Europe, keep playing the Jacks money card as much as you like, stretching back to past times is just sad mate.

Up the Blades !

Indeed. Just as you had your biggest game after you spent what, 25/26 years outside the top flight when you got into the play offs?

So yes, it is our biggest game for quite some time and we all intend to enjoy it - even those who rarely go on to watch a match. SG suggested you only took around 33,000 to your Wembley play-off - how many more than your recent seasons average was that at the time? Honestly it is quite churlish. You wish us ill then I understand, you wish to criticise then I understand, you wish to mock then I understand but commenting on our crowds or ability to sell tickets for Wembley, that I don't understand, your own track record in this area is hardly stellar is it?

Edit: Why did I feel the need to explain myself to a Dingle?

Up the Blades!

Surely there will be a pub inside Liverpool airport with Sky Sports?

The Wetherspoons doesn't show Sky Sports. There is a bar once you go through passport control that has Sky.

However if I wanted to catch the kick off I'd have to check in over 4 hours before my flight which I doubt sleazyjet will let me do.

My God, it really is the land that time forgot.

Have seen the Sky news report from the Dingledome and Dingleville. When asked what she will do at Wembly, one woman said...."ooohh, I'll chee-ahh." That's cheer to me and you. Some lads emerging from a tent shouted, "come on Buhhn-lah." That's Burnley to me and you. Then some halfwits drove off in an old claret and blue van shouting, "Buhhn-lah." The van made the yellow Trotter's three wheeler look like a Rolls.

They are really are something else and quite rightly their fans are the laughing stock of the football world.

I'm off to Mallorca on a 4 day stag do shortly with 40 Sheffield lads, so COME ON THE BLADES!!!!

Not jealous at all. Had it come our way I would have accepted it gladly but it didn't. I have no feeling that you should be ashamed at all, merely pointing out realities that so many chose to forget or ignore.

Now in the unlikely event that we win next Monday we will have achieved it all on our own, without starting something that ultimately has been to footballs detriment. So I guess yes, I would take some satisfaction from the achievement of little old Burnley. As a journalist once famously said, we are, after all a real football town unlike Blackburn.

As for whoever mentioned Cardiff, I didn't realise you'd won the league there so I apologise for my error. Oh, wait, hang on, you can't win the league at Cardiff..... Oh you feel I've short changed you by not mentioning your cup success? No problem, congratulations on your cup success at Cardiff. In return I'll be sure to let you all know next week what the New Wembley Stadium is like.

Dave I agree. These days come around rarely for most clubs in England, even less so for the little clubs like Burnley so I will take my sons, enjoy the day come what may and spend the summer reflecting on what has been a truely enjoyable season of football. Lets face it, if we do the impossible and win there will be little to cheer next season.

Indeed. Just as Kilby and Floods input has saved Burnley FC from ceasing to exist. Very similar except of course except that Jack had a hell of a lot more and it wasn't tied up.

The real shame is that successful clubs now cannot be self supporting financially. It's an unhealthy situation brought about by the greed of the big city clubs.

I was going to say if we played in your league we'd be able to get to the New Wembley. However we'd probably have gone straight up with the winners and not trying to prove ourselves best of the also-rans.

What a load of ######!

You come across as though you're playing Manchester United! It's Sheffield United FFS! You have every chance to beat them, is the negativity there so you could use it as an excuse when you lose?

Wake up to reality you stupid dingles! You will never achieve what we have achieved, and as Yoda said, you'll forever be in our shadow.

You have no case for an arguement with Rovers, you've been hammered by us and humiliated by us in your own "fizzy pop" league.

Hate is the word, when you ask all Burnley fans what they think about Rovers. Feelings mutual!

You may well be going to the new Wembley before us, but what for? To get to the promise land where we've been for several years. Go there for a cup final and you have a point to brag about it. Other than that hush hush dingles.

One thing we did have before JW came along was a better side and better support than you, this despite the fact you've had top flight football relatively recently compared to us. All your so called 'supporters' had deserted the club, and by the mid 80's you struggled to get 3000 through the gates

“As a journalist once famously said, we are, after all a real football town unlike Blackburn” probably from the burnley express, or he needs to check his facts because we deal in facts not burnley fiction.

I never said we were playing Manchester United you clown. We are though playing a team who have the following advantages:

2 1/2 to 3 times our average gate

£30 million for a season in the Prem

£12 million parachute

£XX million from their claim against West Ham

So in truth, the odds are stacked against us quite heavily.

Oh how bitter some of you are sounding. In your shadow? Not sure I agree but if we are then its been for what, 25 years? You were in ours for around 60 years - what goes around comes around my blue and white friends.

No it didn't it provided a platform to compete and lead the way in some respect.

We won the league fair and square and before what the club had actually anticipated or budgeted for - just we messed it up straight after.

rem we scraped into the play offs in 6th position when we first came up hasta.

Also after being 10pts clear ...

As a journalist once famously said, we are, after all a real football town unlike Blackburn.

That journalist must have been a dimwitted Dingle, Tony Livesey perhaps ?

Lets have a look at what Blackburn has football wise outside the professional club.

1. A vibrant saturday local amateur football league (Blackburn Combination) containing over thirty teams in three competitive divisions - what does Burnley have to compare ?

2. A vibrant youth league thats almagamated with Accrington to make it even more competitive and also help share resources between towns to ease the pressure on the pitches.

3. A vibrant Sunday amateur football league (BSFL) containing again over thirty teams in three extremely competitive leagues.

4. JJB soccerdome now called Powerplay with over ten small sided pitches providing competitive leagues for all ages.

5.Blackburn Rovers Indoor Centre (BRIC) provides two indoor football pitches for small sided games providing leagues for various age groups.

6. Audley sports centre and Astroturf providing small sided leagues of all ages predominantly Asian users.

7. Two full size astroturf pitches at Witton Park that also provide small sided games and full sided games predominantly run by the council for various age groups.

8. Plus many more leagues and venues that escape me within the Blackburn with Darwen area.

Thats the local amateur scene almost covered, dont forget that Blackburn due to the Rovers co-founder John Lewis has the oldest refereeing associaition formed in 1899.

Plus Blackburn the town boast TWO totally different FA Cup winners in Blackburn Olympic and Blackburn Rovers. What with over 140 different nationalities currently in the town supporting many a team other than Rovers and dont forget there are Rovers fans sitting with the burnley fans at Wembley watching a game of football.

To say Blackburn isnt a football town is a bit one eyed and blinkered to say the least that extends to complete stupidity.

Whats Burnley got ? :rover:

True. That's not the point I'm trying to get at.

Whilst it's a great day out, getting to Wembley in the play-offs is no great sign of success worth bragging about. If they were good enough they'd never be going to Wembley in the first place.

As a journalist once famously said, we are, after all a real football town unlike Blackburn.

Now I take on board the points you have made except the one above, who was the journalist?? Oliver Holt or the Daily Sport Journalist and Radio Lancashire Rovers Hater presenter???

As Blackburn Rovers were founded before Burnley, (Darwen was as well) I find the comments strange, Blackburn always has and always will be a real Football Town, unfortunately, to one side we have Stanley and Burnley and on the other side, Preston, Bolton, two Manchester clubs and two Liverpool clubs all closer than Burnleys closest rival Bradford or Leeds which gives you a much greater catchment area for support, verified in your hey day when the roads from Keighley to Burnley were packed with Andertons coaches on their way to the Turf!! thats a fact.

Do not forget when Colne Dynamos were drawing crowds comparable to your lot and that your former chairman was the one who had the casting vote to remove Accrington Stanley from the league for debts of £13,000!! Prior to that, Burnley voted many years ago to remove Nelson from the league, they did this in the hope that competion for 'gates' would be removed, so please dont speak of Burnlley being a real Football Town.

To conclude, I am proud to be a Rovers fan, despite living in Colne, proud that Rovers, unlike Burnley were founder members of both the football league and the premiership and proud that in their hour of need, gave their support, despite they being local rivals, to both Accrington Stanley and Nelson!!

Each comment on the bove post is fact, not hearsay or pie in the sky stuff, I wish you well in your quest at Wembley, lets see if you can get a squad to grace the premiership, but it will take three times more than £7,000 per week (your top earner) to do that

Arte et Labore

Oh I do love that quote - always gets the Rovers blood boiling. Actually the stuff about Bob lord voting Accy out of the league is rubbish - read the full true history and you will see that. Colne Dynamoes never got crowds comparable with Burnley.

If we get up I hope we don't even try to compete with the silly money signings but as for 7000 being our top earner, another fact pulled from that pie in the Sky

When was the last time burnley won the FA Cup 3 times in a row? (Did we do that with Jacks money too!!)

Like yourselves, certainly not since Methuselah was a lad.
