Presty On Tour Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 After seeing Ince on sky sports, he knows what's coming. He has had his chance and enough time but when you don't win a league football match in 10 games you have to face the consequences.
Exiled in Toronto Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 As I expected, another resounding silence from our Boardroom. Ince should have gone 3 or 4 games ago, then the new man could have had a good look at the squad in games where we didn't expect to get anything, and indeed got nothing. So nothing was gained by keeping Ince but a valuable opportunity lost. Now, even if Ince goes tomorrow, the new man has to assess things and implement his way of doing things during this supposedly winnable streak. By the time he gets his feet under the table, we'll be back to the tough games. No leadership at all being shown by our highly paid executives who are making a bad situation worse.
roverfanuk Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Is it my imagination, or does Paul Ince paint a frighteningly insecure picture of a manager when talking to the media. Im just wondering whether he acts like this at half-time when he is under pressure and whether this is whats bringing the team down. He acts with all the inflictions of a person on the verge of a nervous breakdown? Ticks, twitches, gliding his head from side to side, stuttering, repeating himself and getting simple words and phrases mixed up and he does sound like someone who has just been told his grandmother has died by a doctor, and is fighting back the tears. I find it genuinely frightening that someone who holds about as much stature as a person with what can only be described as the severe symptoms of Aspergers Syndrome can be given the roll of keeping the hopes of a high pressure team up?

I think you're doing a grave disservice to people who have Aspergers. He's simply out of his depth.
nicko Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Well nothing has happened? We have lost again shipping 3 goals? Ince hasn't been sacked? Whats going on Nicko? In brief. The manager wants five more games. I think it is more likely two more days. He will know - via his media chums - that the Sunderland call was genuine. Now the chairman has to get things organised and moving. Sunderland don't want to be rushed on Sam Allardyce, so he will be available for a few days longer...but do Rovers have the players to fit his style? You can take it as read that Souey would be interested. I said before I didn't like talking about possible next managers while one was in charge. However that sentiment was not shared within the club after the Carling Cup result.
roverfanuk Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 The manager wants five more games. I think it is more likely two more days. Great, so instead of having 13 winnable (under a new manager) games remaining this season, we will only have 9! -------------------- Wigan Athletic Stoke City Sunderland Manchester City Fulham -------------------- Newcastle Bolton Middlesbrough Aston Villa Man Utd Hull City Everton Arsenal West Ham Utd Tottenham Liverpool Stoke City Wigan Athletic Manchester City Portsmouth Chelsea WBA
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 I'm looking at that table tonight and I have a horrible feeling of hopelessness, goal difference -14........god help us. Oh for a Colin Hendry right now.
Wolverine Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Great advice from a great defensive coach. That's more sarcasm from me, just to clarify...
imy9 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 I really wanted him to do well, I truly did, I also gave Ince enough time to show us something but the facts are that IF we dont appoint a new manager soon we WILL be relegated. The clubs who changed managers last year, most of them survived, we must do the same. The next decision is the most important decision in our history, lets hope the trustees make the right one.
LeChuck Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Great advice from a great defensive coach. Winterburn would say that, no-one else would be stupid enough to give him a coaching job. (not a reply to you Wolverine)
T4E Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Great advice from a great defensive coach. That's more sarcasm from me, just to clarify... What the hell is wrong with these people?! He's getting us relegated ffs! In 2 or 3 seasons we could be in the lower reaches of the Championship or worse. Do these so called experts not realise what relegation would do to us? Anyone who doesn't understand the stark gravity of this situation should be straight out the door.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 "Even talking about judging him at the end of the season - give him at least two or three seasons to work his way into the job. "It almost seems now we are very judgmental within a few games, it's absolutely crazy. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!! You are openly taking the pish Winterburn.
Amo Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 What the hell is wrong with these people?! He's getting us relegated ffs! In 2 or 3 seasons we could be in the lower reaches of the Championship or worse. Do these so called experts not realise what relegation would do to us? Anyone who doesn't understand the stark gravity of this situation should be straight out the door. Because they're not fans of the club. If we ended up in the lower leagues they'd just say 'D'oh.'
martonrover Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 If we give him five more games we'll be as good as down. Time is a critical factor here and decisive action is needed. Any further delay just makes it that much more difficult for a new manager.

I agree with you 100%, I think if people are unsure about what to do, please look at the Premier league table and realise that if West Brom win we are bottom, wake up and smell the coffee.
1864roverite Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Ince is completely incompetent. I would take Souness back. I would take Abbey as coach as short term and I would want to come back from my night on the beer to read that he has gotten the boot. INCE OUT There is a space in the local panto in Preston Paul this year, its the place of the donkey and you my friend fit the bill PERFECTLY
Wolverine Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 On the off chance JW is reading this, Burnley are now five places below us. FIVE. Tomorrow, they could be just four below us. Please sort it out. We need a strong manager now and some investment in January.
Mr. E Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Blackburn manager Paul Ince: "It was an exceptional performance. We have not got the three points but we have to take some positives from the game. "It is always difficult against Liverpool but we matched them for long spells and that was pleasing. "The scoreline was harsh and this might be the step we need to push on and get up the table." ok - yeah. Enough is enough. If you can't do anything about the situation, at least don't patronize us. Goodbye, Ince.
roverfanuk Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Ince wants 5 more games to prove himself (according to Nicko):Of course he does! We have 4 easily winnable games in the next 5... 4 are easily our more winnable games of the season! But the fact is, it's the games that are more difficult (the Liverpool's and Spurs games) that are the real test and the ones we need to be getting points in this league in with this particular manager. So why does he need more time when he has failed this particular test. Wow, you can get points against 4 teams we should be easily getting points against anyway? I know this might sound a bit stupid, but it's such a glaring mistake that i hope John Williams realises, and i hope he takes this whole situation seriously and makes the decision regardless of who we are going to come up against. This particular point is such a glaring mistake if true, that i felt it deserved it's own topic. What do people think about the whole. (Ince) i need 5 more games plea? dry.gif
sambo Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 I am worried a 3-1 defeat is what could help us step up the table! If thats the case, a win would have surely meant we'd rocket up to the top 4!
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Our Defense is conceding goals for fun. Our Midfield is weak and has no creativity. Our Attack is not scoring enough goals........ A complete new team this January anyone?
LeChuck Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 A complete new team this January anyone? Stick 'management' in that sentence and I'll agree. I still believe in this group of players, there's absolutely no way they've gone from 7th best in the league to one of the worst.
