I am told, from a source close to the boardroom, that Ince will be sacked this week. Not exactly earth shattering news in itself, but the wuality of source means it is pretty much all over for Paul now.

Shame, as I really wanted him to well, as I do any Rovers amager (for obvious reasons!) but he has proved himself out of his depth here I'm afraid.

How much old ground gets covered at times?

BRAD FRIEDEL...for those with short memories, moves were being made for other keepers BEFORE the Villa deal reared its head...I checked with Brad when the stories first came out and he assured me he wanted to stay...there is no bad feeling on his side because in the end HE wanted to move.

KEITH ANDREWS...I back-tracked on that story? I don't think so. Took pelters from it. One or two with egg on faces still have that smell about them

ROBBIE FOWLER...ditto. Total lazy journalism once again.

ANTI-INCE STUFF...I had my reservations but that has not influenced any reporting. Check back and you will see I gave him a chance and said things in his favour. A couple of weeks ago I said it was too soon. It's not me who has been lining up other managers.

OLIVER HOLT...where exactly would I reply to him in the Mirror? Think about it. I don't like what has been said by him, but I detest some of the names Ince has been called on here. It only takes one idiot to get others a bad name.

EGO MASSAGE?...yes please.

WHEN AND WHERE THE NEXT MOVE IS MADE...that is up to the board, a process was started on Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday. It is up to them to finish it.

48 HOURS...usually means two days...which would be Monday or Tuesday [at a stretch].

interesting. Did your source offer any reason as to why the club have neither backed him or sacked him after the embarassment of what happened in the papers over the weekend?

Nicko, this process you're talking about, would you know whether it was made with a definite conclusion i.e. sacking Ince or was it just to check availabilty in case they finally lost faith?

Nicko, can you answer my question from earlier. Is the reason the board are unwilling to give Ince the cash because they are worried he will waste it on players who wont develop the team? Ie, he isnt the right guy to spend the money?

Would a more experienced manager be given more money, you think?

Or is it that the money just isnt there to spend?

IMO if Ince goes it will be tomorrow. Teams rarely sack on a Sunday. Equally it puts us in a decent position with BFS, if we go to him and offer him the job but give him a time limit, he will be likely to take the job above taking the gamble that he may be offered the Sunderland job.

I don't believe the club deal in hypothetical situations.

To have made the calls they made tells me they have made their minds up.

I don't know what would have happened if BOTH candidates had been unavailable.

I know the wish list was quite expensive...that caused a disagreement.

Whether a Rovers manager gets millions in January is really up in the air and down to other factors that I am not going into right now.

That can either be taken as a takeover hint (doubtfull)...

Or a hint that players will be leaving, ie, Samba, Warnock and Cruz (likely!) :(

If managers have been approached, Its the end for Ince!

Hes a decent bloke but he is just not ready for the battle were facing!

This time it will have to be an un-attractive but experienced manager ie BFS, AC,GS etc!

Were in trouble and we need some discipline!

Could you imagine we got a new man in but kept the backroom staff?

So...................two candidates have been approached according to Nicko, but the names are either being kept under wraps or Nicko is keeping quiet.

I reckon the two are BFS and Curbishley

Isnt it Allardyce and Souness? I thought we figured that out first thing yesterday morning?

Already been mentioned:BFS and Souey/Tugay partnership.

BTW if we get Allardyce will he be known as Big Friendly Sam? :D

My heart likes the idea of Souey returning but my head thinks it would not be a wise move.

Souey was very much old school when it came to training etc, so if this has been a problem for the players, I cannot see it being solved.
