I've read that the players opinion are split in two. Dunn and his "gang" want Allardyce and Tugay and his "gang" want Souness.

Well let them have a vote and they can pay the succesful candidates wages! Seriously they are getting above their station.

Souness is a backward step btw who nobody would want but for the soppy sentimentality attached to Tugay. no go area.

Let Sunderland get Houllier...We will take Big Sam thank you very much...

With what he did with Notlob, imagine what he can do with our players...Cant recall any player they had that would on paper be better than any of our players...For that argument, Id say our players are possibly better than Newcastles when he managed them...Plus all the circus hysteria wont be around our club...

Is that owing to the quality of their players, or due to the quality of the coaching? Just a thought...? On paper, they have never had a terrible squad. Having said that. We havent really ever had a perfectly balanced squad. Not since 94-95/00-01 IMO!

Well, it might not of course be bang up to date but this morning's LT has claimed that the Board have NOT yet given up on Ince and that in all likeliehood he will still be in charge for Saturday's game.

Although John Williams declines to back Ince saying: "The Board will make decisions it feels are in the best interests of the Club"

What a cop out.

Just the shot in the arm our manager needs as he prepares the team for another absolutely crucial game.

After systematically and deliberately doing everything possible to to aggravate and disappoint the rovers supporters since he's been here I'd agree that he wants shooting Simon..... maybe not in the arm though. ^_^

Isn't that exactly the line he has given to anyone that has contacted him by Email?

My guess would be that LET emailed him, and thats all he sent back...

I dont think Ince is going today, neither do i think the info provided to Hughesy is accurate...

Since Hughesy is saying pretty much the same thing as Nicko, they must both be wrong?

Perhaps...

Rev - JW said that last thursday or friday in an email to Jan and others. Im sure they have just picked that quote up from there.

True. But the article tends to suggest that that is the position FOLLOWING the Liverpool game.

And given the speculation that was in the papers over the weekend, Ince should have been relieved of his duties if it were true, or JW should have shot down those particular rumours stone dead if they were not.

Should never sack anybody on a Sunday.... it's bad luck. ;)

The 'one more game' line you have been reading in the morning papers was an agreement struck between the reporters at the game on Saturday night.

There were a lot of things going on yesterday, many of which have been mentioned here in one way or another.

You have to remember that this is a hard job to handle because of the fall-out of sacking a manager, particularly this one.

The board have to get their new man lined up first or there would be an awkward couple of days when it would be all about Paul Ince being sacked. They don't need that, I suspect.

It's down to the board to decide who they want.

I think that step has to be made - and the next guy lined up - so that they happen quite close to each other.

There is a fear within the building at Ewood that they will be slaughtered in the media for sacking Ince...so they must do this right and that means having a manager immediately in place.

That is also why those calls were being made to other, outside clubs at the end of last week. It was doing homework, even if the timing was odd.

Of course, it was unlucky that one club leaked the info...but that's football for you.

When do you think the sacking will be announced? I have a hard time concentrating on writing my penal law paper, due to my F5'ing Teamtalk, this board, the Rovers page and Skysports every 10th minute :o

Deliberately? I don't think so.

Is there any doubt in your mind at all, or is it a case of "when, not if" he goes?

the whole race issue is particularly boring- I take the Observer (read: bleeding heart socialist) and was frankly disgusted when they chose to dedicate a full page article to the significance of Ince being the first black english manager to manage a premier league club. His appointment had nothing to do with his creed or colour- as it should be. Until that point the thought never crossed my mind- which in this day and age I don't believesuch a perspective to be far from a general consensus. Now, as he fails miserably at his job the issue is turned on its head by the likes of Holt and suddenly he's not getting a fair crack of the whip due to race. ridiculous. the timesonline article wraps up the issue in a vey succint manner.

I can only take in the info that comes my way and try to make sense of it.

And all of that points to a sacking - but in this case you have to nearly co-incide that with an appointment.

It is quite obvious that the board changed their view on the manager after the Man U game. I said on here - from a contact who had spoken to a high-up he knows at Portsmouth last Sunday - that the manager was safe for a while.

Whether the change after that was down to the financing of signings, the performance at OT or fan reaction there pushing the board over the edge is something for them to explain at a later date.

However, since then they have [a] spoken to players and rung other clubs for background info on other managers.

I don't think your club does those kind of things lightly.

I don't see any point in delaying the process as it is becoming painful, but the timing is not down to me.

After reading the LET article my gut feeling is that Ince will get his chance against Wigan but he has to win it otherwise he is gone. If we lose the Wigan game and some of the sides above us win, a real gap will start to form.

After hearing these rumours in the National Press on Saturday about Ince already effectively having been replaced and further rumours about an emergency Board meeting sacking him yesterday, I'm starting to hope the situation is actually being judged on a match by match basis and that we pick up a win on Saturday followed by another and another and so on.

No-one deserves treating like this.

And outside of Allardyce what are the options? Souness? Reid? Heaven help us if they are.

As a matter of personal interest, do you think Sam would come to Rovers, even after the abuse he got in the summer? I'm not so sure. And I'm pretty sure he has a large backroom team so that could be another issue.

As long as we don't get Peter Reid...
