philipl Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 It's back up. Pop goes that theory! So American was right!
Ricky Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I was in the BBE lower and definitely heard Paul ince's blue and white army more often than I heard Uncle Jacks blue and white army.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 If Big Sam does come, I'm guessing Little Sam won't leave Liverpool to join him?
PAFELL Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Let Sunderland get Houllier...We will take Big Sam thank you very much... With what he did with Notlob, imagine what he can do with our players...Cant recall any player they had that would on paper be better than any of our players...For that argument, Id say our players are possibly better than Newcastles when he managed them...Plus all the circus hysteria wont be around our club... Er I wouldn't be too sure about that myself. First club in the prem to appoint and english black manager - then the first to sack him after 15 games. Then appoint either an ex-manager who was on the verge of being sacked - before jumping ship - to Newcastle if I remember correctly and failed there or a manager who once managed a rival North west club and then went to Newcastle and failed. I think the folk in the media who hate everything about Rovers could have a field day, so could the geordies. But after saying all that I am sure all Rovers supporters who care about the club, can weather the possible storm. The Ince must go.
almuncle Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 The official web site messageboard is down with the message "Server problems, please bear with me." It'll be that Polar Bear again.Always wants feeding first.
roverfanuk Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 http://msnsport.skysports.com/story/0,1952...4610313,00.html
Commondore Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Considering the current situation this is a very theoretical statement, but still; I'd have Houllier over BFS and/or Souey every day of the week, and twice on Saturdays.
Majiball Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Director of Youth Development would be a great step forward. I'd have him in as manager if possible. Knows the league, great experience with youth (way forward). Bring him in with say a Tugay in the team, so we have a man in the management team. Houllier would not be a bad shout if he's interested.
LDRover Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Didnt have time to make one due to serious problems with my ex making my life hell.......you didnt hear a murmur ? you must have had ear plugs in becuase as soon as the second goal went in there was quite a lot of "murmerings"...am i wrong about paul inces b and w army or not ..I KNOW WHAT EVERYONE IN THE BBE WAS CHANTING. Like you said Abbey there was some Paul Ince's Blue and White Army chants that quickly got drowned out with 'Uncle Jack's barmy army' plus there was a lot of 'Forever and Ever' and 'Rovers til I die'. In fact there were a lot of dissenting voices towards the initial Paul Ince chant around where I sit that kind of shut up the 'few' that were singing it. Also, like you say, the anti Ince stuff started to pick up in the last 15 minutes when it was obvious the game was up - not full blown chanting towards him but plenty of bad feeling and 'murmurings'. Having said that, it was best support for the 'team' I've heard all season.
BuckyRover Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I thought it was gospel truth that Ince's tenure would be ended after the Liverpool defeat due to the planned mass protest against his regime. Something that the board couldn't fail to ignore. Strange that....
brfc4ever Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 He's gone, decided today at emergency meeting. "It appears that Williams and the board are willing to give Ince more time to turn things around" So sick of the "Know for a fact" posts... Always make's me sit and stare at my laptop, waiting for some news that never shows.
LeChuck Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 http://msnsport.skysports.com/story/0,1952...4610313,00.html "Wigan is a derby game, so we're going to be up for that." Bloody hell, shouldn't we be up for every game at the moment regardless of whether it's a derby?!
Bobby G Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 "It appears that Williams and the board are willing to give Ince more time to turn things around" So sick of the "Know for a fact" posts... alexanders Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 "It appears that Williams and the board are willing to give Ince more time to turn things around" So sick of the "Know for a fact" posts... Always make's me sit and stare at my laptop, waiting for some news that never shows. It makes my results at work as bad as Rovers at the moment. I thought it was only summer and January, but now it's even December !
Craigman Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 http://www.oddschecker.com/football/englis...r-to-leave-post Had a small bet at 2/1 yesterday, he is now 1/2 to be the first manager to leave. Just been updated.
DingleBaiter Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 True. But the article tends to suggest that that is the position FOLLOWING the Liverpool game. And given the speculation that was in the papers over the weekend, Ince should have been relieved of his duties if it were true, or JW should have shot down those particular rumours stone dead if they were not. Don't agree Rev; LT publishing deadline prob about 0400 in the morning. Think any timescale/decision/announcement would be based on having a replacement lined up - doubt they will pot him and leave the throne absent. 24 hours isn't a long time for them to make a move and tie up any deals, plus the Liv game may have made them think a moment (even if the decision is ultimately the same). Didn't the Redknapp story break about midnight? Just think that this 48hrs being 'stretched' is the issue, not what's going to happen (or not). According to Nicko's timeframe (literally!) we're currently at least 31hrs into the 48 ;-) Think there is simply nothing to report in the LT (which BTW is effectively the Rovers spin machine) - they've put that article in to counter the stories although it's hardly a cast iron defence, is it? Like the Labour party have shown time & again, one person's 'spin' is another's 'news management'
bellamy11 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I think the problem with any protest on Saturday was that those fans, including myself felt that supporting the club was more important than trying to get the manager sacked. Above all, all of us who want Ince out want the club to be successful and our support is therefore crucial to that. Oh I don't know. Not everybody applauded the players off the pitch, even though (IMO) they gave as good as they had.

Always make's me sit and stare at my laptop, waiting for some news that never shows. did you read the article? all williams is quoted as saying with references to the position is ""The board will make decisions it feels is in the best interests of the club." the rest is just journalistic licence
ABBEY Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Like you said Abbey there was some Paul Ince's Blue and White Army chants that quickly got drowned out with 'Uncle Jack's barmy army' plus there was a lot of 'Forever and Ever' and 'Rovers til I die'. mattyboy6000 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Oh I don't know. Not everybody applauded the players off the pitch, even though (IMO) they gave as good as they had. the rows around me in JW were empty by that point

Always make's me sit and stare at my laptop, waiting for some news that never shows. Eatsleepfootball talks crap and always has. We shall see if Rovers agree with me later on or in the next 24 hours or so . I got 5/4 on him this morning.

RibbleValleyRover Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 http://msnsport.skysports.com/story/0,1952...4610313,00.html It wouldn't surprise me if there was a split in terms of support for Ince amongst the players. Pedersen has been quite vocal this season in his support for Ince, Nelsen has as well though that may just simply be the captain doing his job. Warnock is another who has been vocal in his backing of Ince. There have been numerous articles in the media about there being bust ups as well. Mate of mine who went to the game said he saw Tugay crying? He said he had no idea why. I get the impression Tugay loves the club very much and to see it in its current plight is upsetting him?
AndyC Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Announcement to follow on Monday.... Just to let you know Ince is about to be sacked from what Iv heard, There was an emergency meeting this aft an announcement will be made tomorrow. Its official and it is for sure I cant reveal the source as he wants to remain unknown. Woooooo Hoooooooo! Time for a new manager now. not being funny hughesy, but if there was an emergency board meeting, then your contact is an absolute gobshite and does not have the best interests of the blackburn rovers at heart. if ever there is a time for locking down the speculation - this is it. He's just adding fuel to the fire. John Williams - get a grip on your board. Persistent leaks should be stamped out.
