Damn you, Hughesy. I expected to wake up this morning, put teletext on to read that Ince has been sacked. But lo' and behold, nothing!

Patience is a virtue. See it as a window of opportunity and get yourself down to the bookies!

Nicko, isn't it the case the single biggest factor ref Allardyce was he didn't like the terms of the contract on offer at Rovers?

Some people seem to misunderstand the difference between

1. a short-term contract

2. an incentivised contract

3. a 'rolling' contract.

I'd suggest the contract terms to Allardyce would be as proposed in the Summer (i.e. along the lines of 2 or 3) while for Souey option 1 would be wiser. If we offered Allardyce a short term contract till the end of the season he'd likely take great delight in spurning us.

It's history now, but:

Allardyce told people afterwards that he did not like the idea that the club could be sold.

The club were definitely concerned by the fans backlash.

However this is now.

Allardyce is still out of work and might see this is a good place to return.

The club know that they can't be considering backlashes now.

I sense an IPS driver error looming

Don't tempt fate!

:rover: what happened to the so called anti-ince songs, did 90% off the crowd backing rovers have you anti-ince fans worried like i said before faceless keyboard warriors :brfc:

I'm glad people didn't bring it to the stadium. It doesn't do the team any good to have the fans getting on the managers back. Save it for after the match. I was singing away to Paul Ince's Blue and White Army for the majority of the game.

There wouldn't be one anyway.

There couldn't be one. Whoever comes in now will see us through to the end of the season. Everything will be in the new mans hands.

Is it just a matter of sorting out the contract with the new guy, before it all comes out. Just wonder if anybody knows if Ince was on the training ground today or not.

It's a win-win situation for whoever comes in. The only way is up from here and if we fail and go down he could always argue that that's where we were heading anyway.

That didn't work for Brian Kidd though. He took us down and left us in 19th position before Souness took over.

hopefully after harford, hogson and kidd we have learnt a little about the "great coach, bad manager" complex, and we employ a good manager

Don't you get dizzy on that soapbox of yours?

The fans are concerned because an inept manager is taking us towards the brink of relegation. Your arrogance leaves a bad taste, as does your loyalty to Ince over the club itself.

Ince : "After that performance there's a bit of positivity now. The players can walk a little bit higher now."

We lost another one, didnt we ?? Produced just 2 shots on goal and had only 38% of possession, right ??

If i was a player, i would not "walk a little bit higher".

So much optimism and positivity, just because we didnt suck big time ?

I am not Ince's biggest fan, but we can;t pick up on every little thing he says and does, give him a bit of a break here he has not said a lot wrong, he has to be positive.

I actually think we will beat Wigan this weekend too, add to the optimism

I'm starting to get the feeling that he has talked himself into getting the Wigan game, hope i'm wrong.

But if you forgive me for saying so this is crud. You can't have the Board or JW or whoever behaving like this:

- approaching clubs

- approaching managers

- giving the guy in charge no support thus fueling the rumours

- not making a change

- suggesting a change

- having a think

- giving a nod here and a wink there

- putting a time on a new appointment but wait a minute cand you hang on until we see how he goes on in the next game - oh and maybe just another.

This is Newcastles approach not ours for heavens sake!

I now really think (unless compo's being discussed) the 'candidates ' have said 'HOW MUCH' get lost.

Has Ince got another game Nicko?

Nicko replied to my post earlier this morning saying that he'll stand by his belief that Ince will have been sacked by tomorrow. Look back a few pages to find it.

I think JW's lack of backing for Ince in his remarks in the LET/on Sky is proof that he'll be gone in the next couple of days.

I am ashamed to be a blackburn fan,i feel really sorry for paul ince.He has not been given a fair crack of the whip, from the outset most people on this message board have been criticising everything he does.I think it is an absolute disgrace that the club are sounding out other managers when paul ince has not even been sacked yet.It is not al down to paul ince the players he inherited are crap.People on this board kep on saying that this squad finshed in the top half and were challenging for europe but i disagree although the players are still the same they have all gone backwards, the main players in seasons past have been, tugay savage, mcarthy, nelson, bentey, pedersen, santa cruz and friedal.savage, bentley and friedal are gone, nelson since his injury is no the same player, pedersen and mcarthy are not the same players(they re crap).I think keith andrews has been an okay signing atleast he uses the ball with intelligence, grella and reid hav been injured so we wre forced to play the awful AXE in centre midfield(he has to be the worst player in the prem).I think if we had the best manager in the world he would struggle with this lot.Managers need time to get the personnal in that they want,to stamp there athaurity on the club.Whats the bets in a few months time there will be an souness/allardyce out thread!

is ince taking training at brockhall? that would be a pretty good indication of his current status.

I say again

All of this is conjecture based on media reports and hearsay, not concrete facts.

Until John Williams actually stands there and says that Ince has been shown the door, then we can only assume that yes he will be in charge at the Wigan game and any future games in the foreseeable future.

Silence is a fence around wisdom

So they say...

I asked the same earlier on. Was Ince on the training pitch today? If not he is a gone, if he was then i dont know. But if he is sacked, then his whole backroom team must go. Only one i will keep is Mimms.
