Of course he deserves more bloody time! Why? Because this is real life and not and not a football manager computer game.

If he had been doing the right things since he arrived then fair enough, but almost every decision he's made since he walked through the door has been a poor one.

If Bolton and Wigan had gone with that attitude last season they'd be down in the Championship.

I am int he "den" camp.

I was shouting encouragement and I wanted my team to win.

The flip side of that is that I dont support Ince as my clubs manager because he simply appears not to have the relevant skills to manage or the nouse, he certainly has a back room team that does nothing but dampen my fires in respect of Rovers.

The fare on offer, the signings, the inept efforts at defending, attacking and playing basic football are all woefully short of what we expect.

I still want Ince out but I still want my team to go out and put some effort in and win games.

A new broom will sweep out the badness and bad feelings and it cannot get any worse than it already is.

what's your reasoning? that it intensifies speculation? but if he's true it definitively isn't speculation, is it?

if its true, there's a thing called confidentiality.

a board all working together for the common good, will be united in their strategy and the execution of it.

a board that is mixed, will see people leaking information to suit their own agenda.

its that simple.

Never mind that, have you seen Big Sam slowly mouthing the words "I've got the Blackburn job" yet?

(options as suggested by Nicko:)

- Available - Owen Coyle could be available if we made a good enough offer!

- Experienced

Has experienced 13 teams during his playing career, and 3 teams during management respecting a very healthy record:

Falkirk - 31 January 2003 to 20 May 2003 - Games managed 19 - Games won 12 - Games Lost 4 - Games drawn 3 - Win % 63.16%

St. Johnstone - 15 April 2005 to 22 November 2007 - Games managed 70 - Games won 36 - Games Lost 14 - Games drawn 20 - Win % 51.43%

Burnley - 22 November 2007 to Present - Games managed 58 - Games won 25 - Games lost 18 - Games drawn 15 - Win % 43.1%

Bearing in mind he is going to be better if at a superior team! ;)

- Local - Slightly... :D

- Know the Premier League - Not as such, but is in the mold of David Moyes with further experience... Brings the teams he manages together, which is just what we need right now...

- Can work on the cheap + willing to take a short-term deal - Im sure we could offer him a rolling deal like the one we offered Sparky? 2 year deal with additional years added based on success. Would he like a chance to cut his teeth on the Premier League straight away..? Well he would be a better option then Ince thats for certain!

Hmm... http://www.clarets-mad.co.uk/news/loadnews...W&id=420899

Also, i replied to John Williams email the other day with a list of possible managers available who could take the club forwards, and have just received this reply:

Dear ********

I am writing to acknowledge your e-mail.

You will appreciate it would be unprofessional of me to enter into any further details as the present time.

Yours sincerely

John Williams

Chairman

Centre of the Lower BBE. You?

I heard a few moans but nothing sustained. Same old suspects too.

Centre of the lower BBE too but towards the back. The truth is that although there was no demonstration as you have rightly suggested, all the folk who I speak to around me simply either couldn't be arsed making a nuisance of themselves or had more impoortant things to worry about in their lives. This does not mean they don't want Ince out.

yes and the real life situation is we are next to bottom of the PL and not looking like we can even get a draw, never mind a win.

real life, he is paid a vast sum of money to perform!

transpose that into your work environment

As i said in my original post. If the next couple of games dont improve, he has to go. Doesnt mean to say i like it. Id like to give him a chance. But he has to go.

I dont actually see him at all, I have a relative of my wife (Bolton lass and fan) who lives directly in line with his house.

There are lights on but no sign of Sam, Mrs A or anyone else.

In truth I didn't know what to expect, and to clarify, I wasn't one of the posters urging it either.

Thing is AndyC, things change quickly. It could be so different if we don't beat Stoke in our next home game. Who knows?

if we dont beat stoke, i'd think there is only one outcome!!

He doesn't deserve a thing. The gulf in money between the Premier League and Championship is so stark that any manager that fails to get a win in 11 games will be under pressure. If that winless streak leaves their team in the relegation zone at Christmas then they're almost definitely getting the sack. No team can afford relegation, let alone one like ours that only gets circa 20k on every home game.

If we keep Ince and we're still in the relegation zone in February, would you still want him given time? In March? At what point will you consider that it's gone too far? If we go down will you want him to stay and get more time? Everyone will have different views on when enough is enough - but most fans have decided that we have too much to lose to let this go on any further. I would call that sensible. Your standpoint on the otherhand makes absolutely no sense whatsoever for the future of BRFC.

Looks like you've already answered my question. So how is that giving him time? 18 games is a significantly fairer crack of the whip than 16?

I think it's because for all the ranting, raving "Ince OOT!" "I've made a banner as big as the BBE!" comments and talks of protesting outside the Jack Walker, there wasn't a peep, even during the game. For such an overwhelming percentage of people screaming "HE GUTTA GO NOW HES GORRA GO IM GONNA BASH HIS 'ED IN", the fact that there wasn't even a significant chant or boo directed at him kinda destroys the argument. It's not representative of the fans as a whole in any way. And if you think it is, who gave you the right to speak for the 18,000 others? ;)

I hate the government and want them out but I don't feel the need to childishly create a banner and stroll down to westminster to shout about it

if the board have any sense they will know Ince isn't up to the job purely by the league table and the shambolic Ewood disgraces we have witnessed for months. They don't need 250 muppets chanting outside the Jack Walker to know that Ince is out of his depth at this stage of his career

ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!! I'm sorry mate but why can't you judge a manager after fifteen games when the team is lacklustre, the same team minus one player (Bentley, Robbo is equal enough to Brad in my opinion). Do you want to be in the championship next season? because that is where we will be next season with Ince in charge. What is it that gives you any confidence in Ince's methods? Personally, i'd be delighted if Ince could turn it around because my clubs interests are the main thing in all of this, sadly Paul Ince does not have the quality at this stage of his management career to get us out of this position.

On a side note, a seventh placed club last season should have merited a better short list than Allardyce, McClaren etc. However, such has been the decline in fortunes that we are now having to look at those men who have experience of getting us out of this rut. That is why they are suddenly being called to the front-line - horses for courses.

What utter rubbish you talk, yes we finished 7th but we were never goin to get a real high profile manager we have no money to spend,Why do you think hughes left?He knew that the club would not be able to meet the same sort of level it had in the previous 3 seasons.Btw its not just minus 1 player benni nelson and peds are not as good anymore

My original post was stating that we cannot give him time because of the way football is these days. Financially. I agree that we cant give him time, purely because its too much of a risk. I was saying in my original post that 20 years ago we would leave him and hope. Unfortunately now we cannot do that.

19th on the table, goal difference of -100 and havent won in 10 games. Why should ince be given more time, based on what? Anybody? Islander you stil have not given valid reasons why we should continue with Ince

"No discontent" - I haven't said that EITHER! Of course there's a lot of anti-Ince feeling, but not at the level evident on here. 320 votes is 1.5% of the paying public on Saturday - so statistically that is not representative either.

What a terrible interpretation of statistics. Anyway, what reason(s) can you give as to why Ince should be given more time? Say im a neutral (which im not) what methods that he's still trying to get across make you believe that he can take us from the foot of the table?

Paul must have a big family. ;)

Tried that ....reckon Ste has blocked the IP address

I don't feel those of us who aren't following the crowd are arguing just for the sake of it. Let me make this clear, again, I am NOT a Paul Ince fan and need convincing he's the right man for Rovers in many aspects. Now please don't tell me to look at the table, I am not an idiot. I've been posting for weeks about our lack of creativity. I have in recent weeks become more and more riled by the treatment handed out to Ince on here, to the extent I started a thread which I hoped would allow those who don't agree with his treatment to post their views - about the abuse not his managerial capabilities. It didn't last long, which disappointed me but that's a different discussion - not a dig at the mods. In light of the Oliver Holt stuff it's a shame it was given equal prominence with this thread.

A part of my view was forming out of sheer bloodymindedness and objection to a couple of things. The insulting language directed at Ince, which is now being picked up by Oliver Holt, and the way in which Allardyce, whom 3000 people objected to strongly enough to sign a Facebook petition (which I felt was pretty bloody stupid at the time), has suddenly become the best thing since sliced bread. I've tried to ask people to think about it. Do you really want Allardyce for the next THREE YEARS? This is what you're asking for and it will not necessarily make Rovers a better or more loved club. Souness for a few months could be a good idea, Allardyce likewise but we certainly don't want to be lumbered with either for three years as a result of a hasty decision.

On Saturday Ince started to convince me a little. His team and his words after the game seemed better to me. The man is close to being sacked, clearly under real pressure but held himself together in front of the cameras. I think we might just have turned a corner. If we have I'll await the response from the Ince Out camp.

Saturday provided the opportunity for the crowd to turn. The last time this happened I think we all sang "Hodgson for England" The crowd didn't turn and Williams still has time to make the right decision for the club's future.

Souness in a director of football role, Tugay as assistant to Ince? I don't know, none of us really do.

The lack of a fans protest could have been simply due to the opposition we were playing. Most fans were surely expecting a defeat against a far superior side so what they wanted to see was an improved performance and up until late in the second half they got that. If we were playing an inferior side, a side we should be beating then i think you would have seen a different crowd reaction to the result.

I think it was probably more to do with the fact that it was bloody freezing.

Why are they not as good anymore? Is it them personally or is it the managers (coaches) influence? Obviously thats open to debate. You seem like someone who is comfortable with failure (which can be a good thing sometimes), going from seventh to nineteenth? You don't turn that bad overnight! Wake up and smell the coffee, we are heading for the trap door!

Anyway, what are the reasons you would suggest as to give Ince more time?

If you can quote me saying anything of the sort in the last 3 weeks I'll answer.

I'm talking very specifically about John Williams comment in the LET "the crowd could have gone either way".

That's now been twisted into the lack of a "demonstation" - not what I've said anywhere, or I should imagine what JW means with that comment.
