Antgrad
While talk of only having £5m to spend is depressing enough, how much will we have to spend if we have to pay off Ince and his mob? About half that?

RibbleValleyRover
If the the media is correct then it sounds like there is a split at board level on what to do with Ince. JW wants to see the man he appointed suceed and feels that Ince can become a decent manager in the long term meanwhile other members on the board are concerned about the consequences of relegation. In regards to £5 million being available that's absolutely pathetic, even if we sell Roque the manager probably wouldn't get much more than that. Weshtery
Absolutely LUDICROUS. This is the Daily Mail mindset that I hate. The most vocal complainers are always the ones that are listened too, and it rarely reflects the views of the more moderate and reasoned fans who DON'T throw their rattles out of the prams at every oportunity. Ince needs at LEAST another two or three games to show that he has what it takes to dig us out of this situation. If the board pay any attention to this microcosm of rabble rousers, then they need their collective heads examined.
Bobby G
Feel sickened today to be honest. Cant believe our board are this spineless that they cant figure things out on their own and would rather a fans protest do it for them...Very disappointed in our club today. accyrover
Whilst I thought Ince was the wrong choice when he was appointed, I can see why the Board have given him until now to prove whether he can do the job. Clearly he can't so Ince will either be sacked today of given 3 games to sort it out. JW and The Board are not stupid and they will realise we cannot be languishing at the bottom of the league in January. If we are we will have a real fight to get out and probably won't make it. They will also realise a club of our stature will find it increasingly difficult to get promoted out of the Championship. The Board and JW have a 'Plan B' and are probably discussing it as I type. I suspect 'Plan B' is called Sam Allardyce. Accyrover.

If the board pay any attention to this microcosm of rabble rousers, then they need their collective heads examined. I have been one of the strongest supporters of the give Ince a chance group but i cannot see any longer how we can. We're working to a timescale here that is not of our making - the transfer window. We don't want to be looking for a new manager as the window opens. If we're going to have one, then it needs to be done swiftly and efficiently. We can't give Ince another couple of games. It's either got to be now or accept the very real likelihood of relegation and let him get on with it. I try to be reasonable. But reason suggests that if it's going to happen anyway we simply cannot wait. It has to be now. I don't throw my rattle out of the pram as anyone here will tell you - or at least only on the subject of Mr Allardyce .
G Somerset Rover
For all the people demanding that Mr.Ince gets more time can I just ask this: If we lose on Saturday but put in similar effort to the Liverpool game should he stay in charge? Similarly if we lose both the Wigan and Stoke games but put in the effort?

Similarly if we lose both the Wigan and Stoke games but put in the effort? I didnt see the game as I was lashing it up in Prague with the Other Half, but, from the texts I was getting from mates at the game, we apparently played well, but still got thumped. So, the answer to your question is....he shouldn't be in charge on Saturday. Full stop. Accyrover
Bobby G
Effort is not important other than in the games against the top 4. Any other match should be winnable for us.

broadsword
The board don't know which way to jump. Personally, I think they've painted themselves into a corner. They've rung Sunderland to ask whether they were taking Allardyce, which given that it's been in all the 'papers, weakens Ince's position dramatically. They've apparently given themselves 3 choices: 1. Stick with Ince - who they've just given a demonstrable vote of no-confidence to, and who they've also told that he can't have any of his January transfer targets. Well, if you're still in a job this time next week, Paul - best of luck; 2. Allardyce - who they quickly rejected in the first place, so what has changed to want to give him the job now, he also apparently was put off the job because of doubts over the ownership of the club; 3. "Sougay" - appointed our Graeme, well, that's a risk, given what his last season with us was like. Would we get the Graeme who took us over initially and put us back in the Prem, or would we get bad Graeme, who had the Jock McMad of Madshire book of tactics? can we afford to take the chance? and why is Tugay proposed as assistant manager, is this just to keep the fans sweet? Add into the mix that we've got 0% of Ethel of the sum product of two jumping beans and a boiled sweet by Premiership standards. Additionally, this sizeable war-chest would be significantly depleted if we were to fire Ince in a cannon over the border to the Turd, as well as getting shot of his cast of thousands - and things start to look even worse. It's like going down the sweetie shop knowing you only have enough dough for a caramac bar or a panda cola or a feel of the post-mistress's saggy left boob. when what you really want is none of them, you want a quid on the pick and mix, a great big bloody bag of cheese puffs, a king-size snickers, a jumbo bottle of Cream soda, and Jackie next door to show you her monkey. Compared to that, a caramac or a saggy boob is a right bummer.
Iceman
so what happens if Ince is allowed to be in charge against Wigan, we then go onto win the game but then lose to Stoke? what then, hmm will he be allowed to continue or be sacked... im really angry that they(the board) have had so called crisis meetings, yet still wants him to continue... how many more games does he need? INCE OUT!!!

Martin
I think we all need to chill. For me Ince is either sacked today or is backed unreservedly - including January and funds. Win, lose or draw at Wigan Ince does not become a better or worse manager. He is either the right man for Rovers in the short, medium and long term or he is not. The Wigan game provides no more clarity on Ince's qualities than we have now.
