Whatever the outcome of this meeting LD, this reeks of muddled thinking of the highest order. I can't think of any statement they could make, that would make the slightest bit of sense to the fans.

It's gone too far now.

Fully agreed Den. No doubt though we'll get a patched up club statement saying Ince has the full backing of the board etc.

It would seem that the board went so far and then got cold feet. We can only guess at the reasons.

Just 10 reasons why he should go. There are more too!

- Not won in 10 league games

- Lost 5 in a row (all comps)

- More goals conceded than anyone else in league (31)

- Scored the least amount of goals at home

- Won the least amount of home games

- Out of the league cup - 5-3

- Failed to score in 5 of the 16 games so far

- Gone from being 7th to 19th

- Only won 3 (Everton kids, Fulham and Newcastle when in a rut)

- Signed Fowler

Some would also add to that list:

- Mathias signed as assistant

- Winterburn signed as defensive coach, yet doesnt seem to have done anything

- Andrews brought from league 2

- Fallen out with several key players

- Bottom of the league if we fail to win on saturday and West Brom beat Sunderland

"Well, he brought in a bunch of unqualified and inexperienced backroom staff, his signings have been dodgy, he's turned the defence in to the worst in the league, we're in 19th place and on our worst run for over a decade...but I still think he's the man for the job. Let's keep him."

:(

I have no doubt that it's all about money.

The club aren't willing to sack him now, which will cost us 1.5 million a year, and £30 million a year when were relegated.

But hey, don't sack him. It'll cost around 5 million to get rid of him now.

Im sorry, i refuse to pay to watch this... I'm now withdrawing my membership to RoversWorld

well it doesnt look like he will be sacked today-infact he looks like he could be given a couple more games..

i think if he loses against wigan he should be gone-if he wins wigan-the fixtures set up nice for us..stoke-sunderland-man city-fulham-newcastle-bolton-middlesbrough..

for me it all depends on the wigan game..

nicko-is there player unrest at blackburn by the way???

"What we like about him is that he sets expectations incredibly low and this is important for a club like us. To realise we can succeed with limited financial resources.

He even cheekily did not deny interest in the Newcastle job, even though it was a few weeks into his 'management' of the club."

I don't think that it is possible for the board to have this situation on a game to game basis, they either back him or sack him. If they are going to back him at the meeting today then they need to come out with a strong statement to stop the current situation/debate happening after every game. It is just not possible for a club to function if the manager's future is on a game to game basis.

This has to stop after today.

The choice is simple back him (and come out with a strong statement telling everyone that the club is fully behind Ince no matter what) or sack him. Failure to do either of these will just continue the circus that seems to evloped Rovers over the last week or so.

BS from JW:

"The longer we go without a win the more difficult it becomes for us to get those wins we need," he added.

"The players and the manager believe our fortunes will change once we get that first win, but we all know we need that win quickly."

"At the moment, nine wins from 22 looks more than possible. But if we go a few more games still needing nine wins it looks more and more difficult doesn't it?"

He is expecting us to pick up 9 wins from 22 games. When we cant even pick up 1 win in 10... Well done John, you have ignored the fans, ignored the facts, and ignored reality?!

This is probably the most difficult time the club has faced since promotion to the PL in 1993.

The noises coming out of Ewood about a mere £5m to spend in the transfer window suggest that Nat West has benefited from former (and recent) monies floating around rather than the team. Those of my age and beyond will recognise that as a familiar theme over the years.

If Ince and his back room boys are potted, another considerable sum of money - in Rovers terms - will have to be paid out which will leave the cupboard even barer.

This is why Williams & co are deliberating. There is no bible-like book which, on page 73 says Paul Ince has to be sacked after x games and x number of points. It is all based on opinion. If the Board back him and he comes good, everyone is smiling. If they back him and we go down it will be a disaster from which we may never recover. In short, they have got to get it right and there is no winning formula.

They could get rid now, pay out the compo, bring someone else in and we still go down. It is far from easy and a decision I would certainly not like to make.

I don't think he'll go today. His fate will be decided after the next two games and if we get beaten at Wigan that, for me, will be the final straw.

Just to add a little salt to the wounds...

We are nolonger interested in Ahmed Al-Muhammadi or Tore Reginiussen

It just saddens me that our board aren't willing to make the choice that needs to be made! The choice that the Sunderland board have made.

The SkySports chappy is still at Ewood though, so i can guess JW is going to come out and back Paul Ince within the not to distant future!

Those odds alone should be enough to sack Ince.

Ricky - My sources are not the papers, they are all people 'in the know'

Multi million pound decisions based on bookie odds and rumours posted as statement of fact!

Truely mind blowing!
