BFS wasn't interested when he heard the financial situation. Maybe 5m to spend, borrowed from next summers budget.

No bloody wonder.

Considering we got 5m compo for Hughes and must be about 4-5m in pocket on transfer dealings this summer that would represent considerably worse than a NIL net spend.

Yet again.

How do the sodding owners expect us to stay in this League on that basis?

Paul ince has not been sacked so why are you speculating who the new manager will be?I think the board have shown they are behind ince by not sacking him.The players are behind,so why cant ye just give him a chance to turn things around?Since he waljked through the door people have been calling for his head which is just not fair. Some of ye are so fickle its beyond belief,ye now want sam allardyce(i am a fan of his) yet in the summer when he was linked there was nearly a riot. Why cant ye just get behind ince and the team for the next few games and see if he can turn it around, even if sparky had been in charge we would have struggled this season!

At last, the voice of sanity (My opinion BTW, so respect it as such...) The Board has backed PI, so we should and we should start on Saturday @ Wigan.

Come on folks, talk of replacements, that will clearly not happen, has got to be pretty pointless now?

PI clearly has the backing of the dressing room, they cross the white line, not PI, The Board or us, all we can do is back the players, surely?

Anything else, in my view, is counter productive. (Solidarity!)

:rover: the board have not sacked ince,to me that says they are backing the man they hired in the summer,i have been critical off the team,to me they are the main reason hughes left and ince is struggling

nelsen-injuries have finished him

samba- can't play 2, 45 minutes the same

ooijer - wants to go home

warnock- very average

dunn- injury prone

reid-as above

the axe - useless

tugay- to old

pedersen- a film star

santa-needs to grow up,either play as we know you can or go

benni- hit/miss

roberts- garbage

andrews-squad player, but when he plays never the worst on the pitch

these players preformed poorly from jan onwards apart from santa cruz, they need to earn there money :xmas::brfc:

[/quote)

At the start of august you could have written a list like that for Stoke, Hull, Boro, Bolton, wigan or fulham...........teams with individuals you'd rate from average to garbage, And they are all now mid-table comfortably and not getting thumped week in week out. Its all about organisation and tactics and making the right selections because our squad on paper is really no worse than the 6 teams mentioned. Its all down to the manager, he is taking us down, our 3 wins aside this season we've taken 4pts from 39 on offer. He has no leg to stand on to argue his cause.

Had Ince better start putting stuff back on his desk then?

Seeing as you told him on Sunday he might as well clear it.

(Better change that signature to one in twenty one)

:);)

If the board have decided to give him more time they need to come out and say so. If there is silence on the whole issue then the uncertainty will remain. If there is complete silence and he remains in his job that it means that he is on a game by game basis and his future is uncertain.

If Sam wasn't interested when he heard the financial situation then that speaks volumnes, given the constraints he had to work under at Bolton.

It's all very depressing, but I'd better get used to it.

Lack of cash at Bolton was always a myth anyway. they just didn't spend big on transfer fees but the wages they paid some of the players were always high. The thing is if we know we're stuck with Ince then it might just work in our favour in that it takes the presuure off everyone and sometimes that means you perform better.

Whatever happens between now and the weekend, it is vital that everyone of us at the JJB on Saturday gets behind the team. No boo-ing or anti-Ince chants during the game. The players need the same support we showed on Saturday. Even those of you who want Ince sacked must realise the most important thing right now is the team getting results and getting out of this mess - whoever is in charge. Come on Rovers!!!

OK so Ince is staying which will please some and make others fume!

One thing about Paul Ince is he is probably at his best when he is up against it, he showed this as a player and at Mac.

I think Ince has got support from some fans partly due to him seeming to be treated pretty badly by the board. We hear that they back him but don;t trust him with the money we have. Then he is to be given the biggest pot of money for a long time due to the trustees fear of relegation, then they are sounding out new managers whilst he is still in post.

If anyone has come out of this season with a damaged reputation, It is the board more than PI.

If Ince is staying he needs the backing of the board, including being given whatever funds are avalible. If you don;t trust him with the funds get rid.

Anyway, the Liverpool game was a improvment on previous matches so hopefully Ince will have realised that he had to change certain things. Who knows............

One thing is for sure, he and the team deserve our backing for the time being :brfc:

Manager should aim to get the best out of their players. Make them perform to their maximum. Especially when the players are not as talented, a system/formation/tactics should be put in place that makes it hard for teams to break us down, therefore we pick up points in games.

Couple of questions we need to ask ourselves:

1) Could another manager (who we could realistically get) pick up more points than Ince?

2) Could this manager spend limited funds in January more wisely?

Rovers need at least three NEW quality proven players brought into the team asap. Inces signings so far have been more than uninspiring and so below the standard required that asks the question what gives anyone any confidence in him being able to deliver on the seventh, eighth and nineth time of asking.

No manager could achieve the desired results withn the current bunch of players but then could someone else bring in the necessary personnel on limited funds one can only go off whats gone on since the summer at Ewood in that Ince and his team have proved totally incapable of being able to do this.

Times up get Moyes.

Just off Grapevine.

Souness apparently unsure.

Sunderland - mischief making - Have we a 6 pointer game soon?

Board feel like they've been made to look stupid either way.

Serves them right.

Guess who tipped off Sky.

Completely believable but where have you heard this Prof?

When's Nicko coming out and saying he was wrong?

I'm sure he said he would if Ince wasn't booted in 48 hours (which hasn't happened)

But I'm sure he'll put a spin on it instead of just holding his hands up and admitting he was wrong.

When the clock strikes midnight...

I will admit that the timing part of the story was wrong.

The background stuff and what was being done beforehand is correct.

I have re-traced a few steps today and contacted the OTHER person who got the phone call from Rovers regarding Allardyce and Souness...he confirmed all of the details.

So, something has happened since the weekend.

One way or another Rovers need to clarify the position and not just tell tame reporters about 'one' 'two' or 'five' games.

While I am at it I would like to apologise for Fowler, Andrews, Friedel, Bentley, Robinson, Carlos, Simpson, Roque, Cole, Yorke, Bellamy, McCarthy, Jack Walker putting his dough in, Kennny and Ray, Big Col going and coming back, Andy Kennedy, Kevin Gallacher, Reid, Nelsen...

I was so impressed with the improvement on saturday ,I mean another 3 goals at home conceded ,another big fat zero points earned,a whopping 32% possesion,an inspired substitution in the dying seconds to kill the game off,no excuses either......aye it was an improvement.....

Are you for real? It's quite obvious the board don't know what they want or what they are doing and have handled things in the wrong way. How was nicko to know they would backtrack or fail to find a replacement. It wasn't just him who reported it.

So your saying it wasn't an improvement????

I didn't say it was a good or bad performance, just that we showed an improvment from the week before for the first time in ages :xmas:

For those who regard Nicko - pitiful hack who goes on fans forums hoping to pick stories up from folk a bit more in the know than him - as gospel, here's some fun from Football 365 yesterday.

"Never let it be said that the tabloids stir things up needlessly, or try and twist 'facts' to suit their own needs.

The Daily Mirror this morning reports that Arsenal are weighing up a bid for Xabi Alonso, and it must be true because:

'Wenger sent top and trusted spy Steve Rowley to watch the Kop ace in scoring action at Blackburn ahead of a £12million move.'

So an Arsenal scout went to watch Liverpool eh? Scoping out Alonso is the only possible explanation, and anyone who tries to tell you it's because the Scousers visit north London on December 21 is a liar, a charlatan and a stuffy old killjoy.

Of course, all becomes slightly clearer when one glances at the byline for the story, which reads 'Alan Nixon'.

This is the same expert transfer bloodhound that brought us such summer scoops as 'Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to take advantage of the chaos at Manchester City with a stunning move to sign England starlet Micah Richards' (May 4), 'Lassana Diarra will sign for Tottenham tomorrow if cashstrapped Portsmouth fail to offload a number of squad players' (August 31) and our favourite 'Wigan boss Steve Bruce snapped up Manchester United's young striker Frazier Campbell in a shock deal last night - from under the noses of Hull City' (September 2). "

Ah, a sneider.

Rowley was at the game to watch Alonso. I would know that because he told a contact of mine. Maybe football365.com's man/woman was at home playing with their laptop at the time. Rowley does not do match assessments, he watched specific players for Wenger. Wenger tried for Alonso in the summer, Benitez would have sold if he could have got Barry. What's so hard to understand?

As for the other stories...Man U wanted Richards until Man City came into the money. Or do you know different? I didn't write the Diarra story, although the bid part was correct. The Campbell to Wigan story was written at the moment when he was in Steve Bruce's car on dealdine night...the updated and corrected story about Tottenham taking him instead was in the Mirror's later editions.

Hope that clues you up.

Although I somehow doubt it.

Did your sneaky chums have 60-plus confirmed signings in the last window?

And has one of them even had a real job on a newspaper rather than spend their time re-writing other people's copy.

Perhaps they did get a shift or two and were then kicked out...

Well he can't be expected to work miracles with no cash, I'm sure the Trustees could have opened their wallets and found him some extra funds if they thought the situation warrented it. They obviously don't see it as to big an issue that we will soon be in the championship.

I know I've criticised you over the recent story but I wouldn't take that too personally. It was written and reproduced as a bit of fun and I think most people would recognise that as far as transfer rumours are concerned, you probably have to chuck a fair bit of mud about before some of it sticks.

Ok sign the petition to get him out.

Ince Out

Pass it on to friends and family as quick as you can - we need to get rid of this man before he wrecks our premier league status for good!!

Give it a rest will you. I don't suppose you started the facebook campaign against Allardyce by any chance.

Calm down Abbey.

Screaming like this won't help anything. If you eat your tea properly you can have your desert.

Come on Rovers. Let's give Wigan a drubbing to make up for last year and get a bit of confidence in the team. We will stay up and we will do with heart and passion, backs against the wall, our favourite way!

Its going to be akin to the 80,s the way its going in the fox era with backroom staff sharing tea bags and gates of 5,000 and i dont KNOW that we could survive it.If needs be i have been before and will be part of the 5,000.HAND ON HEART HOW MANY ELSE WILL???????
