Come on Abbey, you've watched football long enough to know that even though a team gets zero points, performances can reveal a lot, particually against the top 4. One of the things I was interested in on Saturday was the attitude of the players and the effort they put in. For me they showed that have the fight and desire to play for Ince.

This may be false hope but non of us know for sure what they are thinking and so only time will tell.

i know were you are coming from but no win since sept isnt good enough and no matter how much effort goes in the end result is a defeat and every defeat hurts. If i had got 0% on my resluts at work over such a long period then i would be fired .I think the extra "effort" was down to the crowd getting behind the TEAM and BLACKBURN ROVERS not ince.

no he is not gone so unless you want us to lose our next few games you better get behind him!

That statement makes no sense.........of the opinion we are way more likely to perform under some one else. Why is there such great optimism for the wigan game. sunderland at home was surely an easier match, and we embarrassed ourselves big time. The fact that ince admitted he is clueless as regards defensive issues by hiring winterburn says everything for his ability to organise a team, show him the door and tighten our defence before we beat anyone.

My position is that on the basis of results I thought he should have gone after the Man Utd. game.

However my ideal scenario would be that he and the club get through this current period and that he is here for the long term (in the Premiership of course)

So I'm quite happy to give him my full support whilst he is still our manager, if the Board are prepared to do the same. In fact they should be a bit more publicly supportive if they ain't going to sack him.

did you not read my post, lesser opposition than liverpool

islander200

Yes we did not get anything from the game but if the players put in the same effort against lesser opposition i think we would get some points on board, there efforts also proved to me that they are behind the manager

mmmm no mention of Liverpool ().. yep read just reads as lesser opposition to me (even though I see your meaning now) probably came in at the wrong junction , however lesser opposition at this moment in time would also mean the rest of the teams ...something we obviously haven't done anyway which I do believe is what Abbey is having his mental at.

another ince thread ...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

It's a request for some balance. Those who want Ince out have 170 pages worth of opportunity to call him every name they wish. I'm simply saying it's right to provide some balance. Don't turn this into another Ince Out thread, jsut let those who would like to express support do so without their view being buried elsewhere. I tried last week and it got buried, I'm asking it isn't on this occassion.

Well we've been behind him for 16 PL Games and it doesn't seem to have done us much good so far. Alas we battle on into the dark, Wigan and Stoke the 2 make or break games. Keep the Blue Flag Flying High for Uncle Jack's Blue and White Army.

Just a thought but couldn't the lack of movement be down to the fact that the powers that be have actually got to tell Ince he's sacked. Then sort compensation etc?

Fingers crossed.. That is, if we have a decent alternative lined up, which seems pretty unlikely what with Big Sam pitching himself for the Sunderland gig. Unless it's just mind games from Sam in an attempt to make the Rovers board pull their fingers out and go for him.

A competent (i.e. qualified with recent, relevent experience) assistant would go a long, long way to sorting this mess out. We're operating at a distinct disadvantage to the rest of the league with our management team. If the board are to stick with Ince then they should get in someone to work alongside him who can make-up for his shortcomings.

Seems the best we can hope for at present.

I'm supporting him as I don't see anyone better taking over, we don't have much money and I think some of the players should put their hands up.

Ince hasn't been faultless, but a new manager doesn't guarantee survival either. He is the manager of our club so he deserves our support for that and the board should publicly make their intentions known.

EDIT: Got to agree with LeChuck as well. Get Ince a decent assistant.

you dont need football to be 100%,all you need on match days are 10% , and the ability of a defence to be able to defend, strikers to score goals and a proper manager. we obviously give the 10% but the rest we lacking in,

I disagree a lot of posters on this mb have been against ince from day one, calling for his head when we lost a game in pre season.

Ince has my support for now. I said in August that not signing players now could mean relegation battle, a lot of ppl disagreed and felt we had the luxury to wait until January. In January his signings must be spot-on and he needs to stop making excuses after losing five straight, but it's too early to sack a manager who hasn't had time to make it his own team yet. I would give him until the end of February but it could be a good thing (in more ways than this) that I'm not in charge - we'll have to wait and see :)

im in a bad mod today paul haha ,on nights and barking dogs and hoooting horns get you this way haha.

Not good

So you want an ince thread without debate? kool i knew mb were for this.

Nope but I'm saying those who want Ince out are being given more prominence than those who want him to stay. I think it's only right there should be a thread which allows people to show support. There's a poll and thread running which by it's very nature is heavily biased against the man. The only way to get balance I can think of is to have this thread. If this simply gets overwhelmed with "we want Ince out" it would be disappointing to think those who think this way won't allow others a voice.

Good for you Paul - just what this Board needed to counteract the BRFC equivalent of Militant Tendency who believe that 300 odd votes out of a membership of 3,000 is an overwhelming vote.

I too thought Ince should have gone by now if we were to benefit from getting a replacement, but with no funds to spend I can't see we would get anyone better, although I seem to be in the tiny minority who believe that Souness MkI could keep us up. If he isn't going to be sacked then I'd be happy to back him as anything else would be a complete waste of time and effort. From now on, the Board are accountable for what happens, not Ince.
