not a complete non story as I have stated previously the board have grounds for dismissing Ince on misconduct grounds

Good grief.

Firstly, unless I've read that blog wrong the author is trying to make great mileage out of the fact that Ince was not part of the intake on the second part of a coaching course in 2007 and 2008.

We already knew Ince hadn't done those badges before he arrived, hence him agreeing to undertake all relevant parts as part of his Rovers contract.

Secondly, if he didn't attend the courses now as agreed with Rovers or was guilty of a fraction of the general misconduct alleged on here, do you not think he would have been out on his ear long ago?

Credit the Board with some intelligence.

Emerton has improved as a winger - but that is maybe from watching Bentley in front of him and with playing at right back.

Out of curiosity has Emerton ever played up front? I am not suggesting he should play there, just wondering if he has ever done so professionally. Because he does have pace which is what Rovers lack.

Has he?

Emerton as a striker, just what every team needs - a striker that can't shoot.

Sorry Pafell, I'm not well.

John Williams told Paul Ince that if he wanted to keep Bentley he would back him.

Ray Matthias said that we can understand Bentley wanting to play for a better team [i wonder what he thinks about those words now, with hindsight]? and we couldn't stand in his way. He followed that up by saying we would have to sign someone better.

Paul Ince said that we had Emerton for the right wing spot if they couldn't find a replacement.

selective editing their den !

there was no way bentley was staying. under hughes, ince or anyone else! I think we all know that really!

agree though, that the matthias comments were very poor.

We played Warnock as a striker against Man U in the Carling Quarter Final.

Dangerous talk Pafell- your suggestion might come true!

As for summer bids- I don't remember offers being made for Lennon or SWP. A bid was definitely made for Joaquin but the next action on a right winger was on the Espanyol guy and Pennant at the end of the window if I remember correctly.

Nothing disputes the fact that Friedel was not sold until Robinson had signed so that part of Ince's comment (if he is being correctly quoted) is pure rubbish whilst Ince himself could have not sold Bentley or made him stay until his replacement was signed but chose not to.

20 pages of hysterical outpourings and I'm not sure why! It does make for pathetic reading though, it's like a whole bunch of kiddies have just been told by their mummies that they can't have the sweeties by the supermarket checkout.

My take on yesterdays developments isn't much different to what I posted last Saturday evening. Namely that the performance on the pitch and in the stands got Ince another week.

I would view that as the reason why JW hasn't come out with a strong statement backing the manager. He might have to sack him in 3 days time, so it's not rocket science to suss that an official "backing" at this stage is the wrong thing to do. The best thing for JW to do is keep schtum - ie keep options open depending on how the Wigan game goes.

For now everyone's energy should be focussed on that because at the end of the day, 3 points is the best outcome for the club.

Raking over the same tired muck (like allegations about Friedel, Bentley, coaching courses, etc etc etc) doesn't do anyone any good at all, especially with all the outsiders reading this as guests, looking for any tittle tattle to further undermine the Rovers.

I agree right now 3 points is the best outcome for Blackburn Rovers.

If that comes then we will take it from there.

Only thing Im worried about is IF, we survive under Ince, then he will be hailed as a hero who kept us up, when it was he, who turned us into this rubbish outfit we currently are! I just dont want to hear any of the I told you so's by him or his staff, as if that would be a successful season for us.

A win is absolutely vital.

We must get it, no matter who is the manager at the end of the season.

Firstly for morale, who wants to go 11 games without a win. Secondly because we're already more than a win away from getting out of the bottom 3. If we don't get a win soon, we'll be well adrift and it starts to be a mountain that needs climbing.

Do we?

One or two reminders:

“One of the great things about being the manager of Blackburn Rovers is that you can rely on the support of the boardroom.”

The decision on Bentley’s future will lie squarely with Ince after the midfielder publicly stated he wanted to leave Ewood Park in the summer.

Williams added: “It’s for Paul to decide that ultimately but contractually David is one year into a four year contract.

MARK Hughes is adamant David Bentley will still be a Blackburn player next season - regardless of whether or not he signs a new contract.

Now I'm showing you evidence of Hughes's stance and Williams stance at the time. You show me evidence that the decision to sell Bentley wasn't all down to Ince.

This thread is becoming a joke,we have a manager unless ive missed something paul ince has not been sacked so i think it is pointless going through the pros and cons of countless managers. Why cant ye just get behind the team and the manager for the next few games and take it from there?

It would be much more interesting if you came out and discussed the situation Tris, and gave us your views on the team performances and the dilemma's the club face, rather than just sniping at the posters.

does anyone know if one of the 9 games that we need to win to stay up is this saturday against Wigan. If so what happens when we loose, will Ince get sacekd then. To late Williams Ince should of gone straight after the Liverpool game to give the new manager as much time needed to get us out of this mess.

Well John Williams has come out and said that we need 9 wins for premier league survival (i don't agree i think we need more points than that this year), only he and the board know if the Wigan game is a must win. If we continue our run of defeats against sides that we should have a chance of taking points from then i don't think Ince will last long enough to try and achieve these 9 victories over the remaining part of the season.

We just have to wait and see what happens, we don't know for sure what has been said and what the board expect.

Dude. Why are you trying to make yourself look clever when people are coming out with perfectly valid points and observations? Your making yourself look very silly...

As for Avram Grant, he oversaw Pompey's second most succesfull season (ever!) as director of football and then got promptly snapped up by Roman Abramovich and 'The Special One' when they saw what good work he did...

Ive seen the league table but the board have decided to give paul ince a chance to turn things around a couple of wins and we would be climbing the table.Give him a chance!

i have backed Ince all the way if you look back to some of my old post Islander.

But enough is enough he is just not good enough to manage Blackburn Rovers Football Club. He has had plenty of chances, but keeps coming out with the same old remarks after each game like "were playing good football, but ladyluck is not with us at the moment" its a load of crap islander and you need to wake up and realise we are in one big bloody mess.

What happens when we loose at Wigan Islander??????????
