gumboots Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I don't know if anyone caught it, but Darren Lewis (The Mirror journo who told us to hurry up and appoint Ince) was on SSN this morning. He ended his segment by promoting his paper's piece about Ince. Lewis blasted the short termism of football, and said Ince has been let down by a lack of money and injuries to his squad. He also said players like Cruz, Pedersen, and McCarthy haven't been playing as well as they did last year. Basically any straw he could grasp at to protect his little buddy. And when the SSN presenter said that the player's form could be down to Ince, he might as well have said 'no u.' I heard him and it's a wonder the neighbours weren't round wondering what was going on in our house because I was yelling at the tv just listening to him. He didn't even make sense becasue he said that Pedersen hadn't been playing as well this season as last. Since he was rubbish ofr the whole of last season and has recently remembered that he is meant to turn up for games and actually try to play that's a load of rubbish. He's one of the few who is actually playing under Ince this season but didn't play for Hughes last.

BuckyRover Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I think we all know that the deed would have been done weeks ago if Jack Walker was alive. He and Whelan held autonomous positions and had no need to let boardroom politics interfere or cloud their judgement..... It's why both made fabulous fortunes. "No business runs well when run by commitee" is a truism that the trustees may need to become aware of quickly...... or live to regret. WE GOT RELEGATED IN THE END ANYWAY!
thenodrog Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Why don't they wheel out someone who is not up Ince's arse and / or is not some heavily ageda'd liberal but is a true football man to give a more blanced view? Or is that not on the media agenda? I tell you all what. The more people raise the colour / race card the less likely Ince will be to get work when he leaves BRFC and the harder it will be for black managers to find employment in football. Prem managers change every 2-3 years and football chairmen simply do not need this type of crap muddying the water every time they need to relieve sombody of their duties. Are you listening Mellelieu & Co?
Wiggy Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I was against the appointment of Paul Ince from the beginning. His record so far has been pitiful ( Fowler, Andrews, Winterburn etc.) A few days ago I was devastated that John Williams hadn't replaced him with BFS. HOWEVER after much thought I'm coming around to the idea that the only way we can avoid relegation is by sticking with him and praying that he can turn it around. I think the moment for changing manager has gone. I very much doubt that another manager is lined up. If we lose tomorrow it's almost certain that we go into the Stoke game managerless, lose that and the party's over. There are one or two signs that things may be turning. The commitment shown in the Liverpool game, Dunn and Grella approaching a return and even the posting by the guy who met John Williams ( I realise that may just have been the Chairman's spin). So, as we all know, tomorrow is a most important day in our history. Everyone connected with Blackburn Rovers Football Club, the fans, players, management and board have to pull together, show defiance and come away from Wigan with a win. It could be the turning point. ( if we lose I'll be back in the sack camp. )

47er Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 this thread is destined to just run on and on! Come on incey - shove the words of the doubters back down their throats! 3 points v wigan please! No! Incey is hoping or a draw! Not very ambitious is he?
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Let's save Ince: Blackburn's stars plot a secret rescue act for the boss <Snip> "Blackburn's concerned players have held a clandestine meeting to discuss the plight of beleaguered boss Paul Ince. A group of senior stars led by David Dunn and Ryan Nelsen urged the squad to air their grievances and discuss how they can save Ince from the axe." "Dunn said: 'We had a chat among ourselves to put down a few pointers and we all know what we have to do to get out of it. Just among the players, we had a chat - the senior players all felt it would be a good idea. It was nothing major, not a crisis meeting. It was just a chat in the dressing room to get all our heads together and set different goals. 'We want to keep our standards high and make sure we are pulling together in the same direction. It was a totally relaxed meeting. But you could tell coming out of it that that "Eye of the Tiger" was there and everybody knew what was needed to get some results." "Ince was surprised to learn of the meeting but pleased his players wanted to resolve the mess Rovers find themselves in. He said: 'It's good they've had the meeting. It shows they have taken responsibility themselves and what a great bunch of lads they really are." </snip>
Amo Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 He said: 'It's good they've had the meeting. It shows they have taken responsibility themselves and what a great bunch of lads they really are." Well you won't, so they might as well eh, Paul?

"Right lads, Ince is too stupid to get us out of this, we have to do it ourselves" Rather like what I thought happened before the Worthy Cup final.
Billy Castell Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 We may get a result then Jan. I hope. If it works out, then the senior players should all try for coaching badges.
Paul Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Nope... I just don't cloud issues by letting my heart rule my head as you Paul and many on here all too frequently seem to do. Then you clearly haven't read anything I've posted on the subject. You wrote off Hughes when he was appointed and were proved completely wrong, so far you've been proved right about Ince as have I. My stated view has always been I was against his appointment at the time on the other hand I was in favour of Hughes so that gives me 2 / 2 at present and you 1 / 2

Less of the unbridled glee please. It's only taken you 10 years to get one over on me, and thats only cos of waggy's sterling efforts. However expressing misgivings over the appointment of Hughes as the 'players choice' does not constitute a write off Paul. I did of course write Paul Ince off as soon as his name was even mentioned. I'm sure that you cannot have overlooked the tone and content of the two posts. I'm just happy to see things in black and white and rely on my own judgement rather than be a ditherer who pulls the petals off a daisy every other day for six months before reaching a decision.
67splitscreen Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 how can he be match fit? According to teamtalk he'e on the bench.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 According to teamtalk he'e on the bench. So thats Vogel's return to the fold over then?
Iceman Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 This thread has clearly become a Paul vs Gordon rivalry. Much more exciting than the football we are playing at the moment.

Darth Paul Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 "It is important for me just to block all that rubbish out and concentrate on my players. They are the most important people to me." Crikey! Last week all that mattered was the support of the Chairman! I wonder where the fans come into the equation? Is anyone else getting bored of this? If Ince said the fans were all that mattered you would have pulled him for not thinking about the players...there seems to be the odd post containing constructive criticism of Ince, but the rest of this thread is just becoming drivel... I think you really need to question why you expend all of this energy "supporting" Rovers. If it makes you so miserable why don't you try something else?
TugaysMarlboro Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 PAUL INCES BLUE N WHITE ARMY!!! That's how I feel about the whole situation.
Rovermatt Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 What, you feel it doesn't deserve an apostrophe?

NO, but I do get bored of the usual lets gang up on anyone with an original view that does not fit in with the Ince supporters views on here!

JAL Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Some good news from todays Telegraph saying Fowler could possibly have played his last game at the club, then the bad news is Ince is after the chief scouts son at Millwall(Whitbread) which asks is the clown(Ince) capable of learning from his mistakes.
AggyBlue Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 then the bad news is Ince is after the chief scouts son at Millwall(Whitbread) which asks is the clown(Ince) capable of learning from his mistakes. Good grief, is there anything that happens down Ewood way that you can't put a negative slant on.
