No doubt, the supporters shouting for the team followed by numbed despair will get interpreted as being a terrace vote of confidence in the manager he wrote cynically....

Is this the first time we haven't sold out at Wigan? So much for offering cheap tickets.

He is 24. A product of the Liverpool youth system. You know nothing of his ability, you only know of our poor financial situation, yet you criticize him for this.

To be fair to Zak, he has also been linked to West Brom and Everton, and couldnt do much worse then our defence at the moment. Oh and did anyone mention that he is American? Would be nice to have a American at the club again...

It's a couple of years since we sold this one out.

DESPITE THE WAVE OF OPTIMISM IT WOULD APPEAR VERY MUCH THAT LESSONS HAVE NOT BEEN LEARNED AND IT IS STILL THE SAME OLD DRIVEL BEING PUT OUT ON THE PITCH.

WE HAVE LISTENED AND WATCHED INTENTLY AT THE VARIOUS SCENARIOS PAINTED IN THE MEDIA THIS WEEK.

I FOR ONE HAVE NOT SEEN ANYTHING TO WANT ME CHANGE MY MIND.

ACT NOW FOR THE SAKE OF OUR CLUB AND SACK THIS USELESS MANAGEMENT TEAM

be warming that yellow banner up at skysports for about 6 o'clock if wigan get 1 or 2 more! Very weird situation that you're team getting stuffed turns out to have a silver lining if this clown and posse of muppets go because of it.

Who on earth is going to talk to the press after this?

It isn't looking good for Ince...

Dunn in the local rag saying team spirit hasn't been better, yet players are actively arguing with eachother on the pitch.

The media are beginning to pick up on our super duper uber defensive coach and his lack of activities.

Sunderland are the only saving grace so far today preventing us from propping up the table.

Fans who have paid and made the effort to go to the JJB walking out in despair before the first half has even finished.

I am sorry to all you who are supporting Ince now, but this has gone on long enough. My team is a laughing stock - Burnley have bragging rights. I was against his appointment to start with but I really wanted him to prove me wrong - believe me I did. No one wants to see this crap happening but unfortunately for me, you, the players, the manager and the chairman, it has. Ince needs to go and take the resoundingly poor management team with him.

I don't hate Ince, I feel for him. He is out of his depth and surrounded himself with fools like Winterburn and Fowler. The moment he started ducking out of getting the qualifications he needed he should have been brought to task. This is a serious situation and one where he would have benefitted from some real experience to fall back on. Sparky succeeded because he assembled a very good staff and took his role seriously, Ince failed because he didn't.

If we don't get out of this hole we are in today, can we all draw a line under it and move on?

They're also a great example of what getting rid of an inept manager can do.

Maybe these talentless ex-Man Utd players will stop getting jobs far above what their ability merits in the future.

i disagree that Ince should be sacked after this game.

he should be sacked at half-time.

Couldnt agree more.

The thing that sickens me is were going to have to pay compensation to this waste of space.

If he had any pride, he would hand in his resignation at half time! :angry2:

This is what should have happened:

Sunderland capitulation - board call an emergency meeting and give Ince the Spurs and Pompey games to show some improvement.

We lost those, could've got Allardyce in fairly soonish (Sunderland wouldn't have had a vacancy just then which is what would hold us up now) and "eased" him in a little considering Man U and Liverpool were games we expected to lose anyway. He could've gone into this Wigan game after a bit of time with the squad.

What actually happened:

We heard NOTHING from the board until after the Liverpool game and even then they were vague statements of support for Ince. They took their time, Allardyce is now interested in Sunderland (who are taking their time to appoint) and now even if we sack Ince we're having to find him a replacement and put him straight into crucial must-win games.

Sheer incompetence from Williams and the gang. They don't know what they're doing, simple as.

Today was all or nothing for Ince.

The club have been in PR overdrive this week - ex-players all over the place stating that Ince deserves time, the current players talking of positive meetings amongst themselves and "the best team spirit I've ever known" according to our Vice-Captain, the chairman meeting with fans and pain-stakingly promoting our manager's apparent thoroughness - it all built up a feeling of optimism and anticipation of a turning of the tide in todays game.

It all points towards complete fabrication coming out of the club. I sincerely hope that the display this week was John Williams trying to distance himself from the apparent calls to Sunderland and well publicised first steps towards a new manager due to the possible legal fallout, rather than genuine belief in this clown.

He HAS to go after this game. We're going to be more than a win away from 18th, let alone safety, and 11 goals behind the 18th placed team, and they'll have a game in hand.

It can get worse - but we really cannot afford it to. Enough is enough.

Anyone know whether the fans are chanting anything anti-Ince?

This is the first time i have started drinking heavily during a Rovers match since the Worthington Cup Final...

My god, how long ago it feels... :(

Yes they have started singing "your getting sacked in the morning" etc. The substitutions have been so bad that Matt Derbeyshire has thrown up his hands to ask where do I play now (position) the bench just ignored him.
