Come on Philipl that was along time ago we have our issues with Ince but theres no point dragging this one out is there.

I think Philip could be right. Ince has always had an issue with Rovers. To Ince Rovers are a very small club, which has now become a stepping stone for him. Though at the moment it is not a very good stepping stone as results are terrible with him at the helm.

There is also the possibility that Ince has changed his attitude, only because of the fact that he went to smaller clubs, such as MK Dons etc. Maybe those experiences at small clubs brought him down to reality. But -------

OK, yes I and many many older supporters have spent 20+years thinking Ince is a prize twit and not somebody we'd want within a million miles of Ewood Park.

But its not unusual for situations like this to arise and many, most probably, myself included, went into the sceptical but give him a chance column. After all, we were hardly Mark Hughes or Andy Cole fans when Souey signed them.

I don't feel Ince has remotely attempted to meet us half way but that doesn't matter- it comes down to the results.

The result today is:

17 Newcastle 13 -5 13

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

18 Blackburn 13 -10 13

19 Tottenham 13 -4 12

20 West Brom 13 -14 11

And that is suicide for a club like Rovers.

If Ince was to get the sack in the next few weeks then its a straight choice between Big Sam & Dowie. Neither of which I want.

I hope the lads win on sunday or at least draw and win against Pompey.

I also think the vote is abit unfair as it was when people were angry, like its been said people dont mention something if its positive, only when they see a negative. Only 58% (including some very angry people) said to sack.

How about a new poll 'Back until Xmas','Back for another 3 games and re-assess', 'Sack Now'. I think that vote would show different results.

Billic would also be a candidate if Ince was sacked / quit. He recently stated (last week) that he wants a crack at the premier league very soon. The probability though, is that WHU would be his favoured destination.

It's not beyond imagination that Spurs will beat us Sunday after WBA win away at Stoke the day before. I'm not saying it's probable, but it could happen. If you aren't worried now, you'll be worried if that happens and we're rock bottom. I wonder what Mensa Matthias will be saying then?

Us, Bromwich and Stoke are the only ones with negative double-digit goal differences.

Tugay player manager, that would be awesome! i'd find it so hard to ever critisise the manager. Bring Kenny back for 6 months, anyone named redknapp, george graham to tighten the defence, sell shares in the team and let the fans pick the side.............anything but those 2 deadbeats or McClown i'd rather stick it out with ince and hope it comes good.

Never pick roberts, santa and McCarthy up front week in week out, Bin the wingers off cause none have pace, carlos behind front 2, warnock and emo full backs. If he keeps to that formula we should do enough to stay above enough teams. If we'd played anyone but roberts against sunderland we quite possibly would have turned the 1st half domination into more than one goal. I'd suggest the following team when fit is ince's best chance to start picking up points, binning nelsen, simpson and pederson(regardless of his once in a season performance 1st half against sunderland), and starting carlos in every game!

-----------------ROBBO-------------------

EMO----Khiz-------Samba--------Warnock

--------------Ooijer-------------------------

--------Andrews-Tugay-(Moko/Grella/anyone fit)

----------------Carlos-----------------------

------------Santa-McCarthy-----------------

You haven't heard of Gerald Ar5eby? Berg and Lee Sharpe coming togather in the box and sharpe getting a pen?

Say "Paul Ince" and I get the image of a snarling Man Utd player.

Say "Cantona" and I get an image of a Norwich player being stamped on.

I think you might be referring to the 2-2 draw with Swindon in 1993-94 when Cantona got sent off for stamping on John Moncur.

Why a straight choice beetween Big Sam or Dowie ?

Are we in such a weak position ? I think not. There are hundreds of managers in Europe, and all you can think about are the two Mongs.

But it comes down to availability, language issues, premier league experience, cost, the undesirability of the North West of England as it is perceived by people who know no better. We wouldn't be looking for a risk - we've tried that at the start of the season when we could afford the time to get rid of the manager if it didn't work out. Effectively it would come down to a choice like that - not necessarily those 2 but similar. I think either of those would be a huge risk anyway but at least they'd be risks we understood, and would not have problems like language, or not knowing what the North west is like because allardyce has been here before and Dowie is from the area, I think. Both are available in that they are not currently in jobs and would not involve us in the same costs as we'd have no compensation to pay to their current clubs. European managers can bring all kinds of issues that need addressing before they can begin to get on with the job of buying players, training and all the other jobs that managers do that we don't even think about.

disagree

*we need someone who is actively looking at the transfare market at our level, so will have a high level job atm.

*language problems should not matter to much, as a least 10 of the first team squad first language is not english. spanish counts for at least a few?

*cost = what ever the cost of staying in the preimer league is?

the person will need to be proving there worth with a team atm, there for will have a job an we would have to pay

P.S hope ince turns it around

and training takes place in English. Ramos struggled at spurs for various reasons but one was that he didn't ever get to the level of English needed to really and effectively communicate with his team. Cost has to be balanced against the likelihood of the expenditure bringing about a change in fortunes. Anyone with a high level job at the moment is likely to be challenging for honours in their own league unless their season is already over and therefore less likely to want/be allowed to jump ship mid season.

point taken about level of English should be good, just as long as he could get his point across,

but in a month, we may have to look at the fact that we could get relegated, if that where to happen, we may not get back up for a while.

someone out of a job, would need time to asses things and are out of a job for a good reason. someone from a top 6 league would have targets and scouts in place and more chance to have players in mind for the week spots, and as such we would need to pay for our survival.

If you are a succesful manager where you are though, no club is going to let you walk out on your contract at this stage in the season. they just refuse you permission to speak and unless the manager then kicks up enough fuss or resigns ( which few do because then they don't get compensation) you can't even talk to anyone. I agree that we can not afford relegation and also that we have to be looking round, making careful enquiries whilst avoiding looking like we're tapping anyone up, but I can't realistically see this big number of managers willing to come to Rovers and I think the situation would probably be as has been said that we would get someone regarded as likely to keep us up but totally uninspiring, and then be stuck with having to get rid of them fairly soon after but having to pay big sums to do so.

I think you are deluded if you think a top European manager will want to come to Blackburn, we have not got loads of cash and Blackburn is not exactly London is it, Big Sam is the man who could get us to a comfortable position, but I must admit it is a laugh watching Inces antics. PS most Northern Europeans speak English its the Southern Europeans that will be difficult

Agree but then most northern europeans (except the dutch) aren't top managers are they?

I come back to my point that you will struggle to name mkore than 30 managers being paid more than Ince's £1.5m a year.

Plus it is a chance to take over the extremely well managed club that came 7th last season (and top ten the two previous seasons also) in the richest league in the world.

Agree but the Dutch like Spain not the North of England, there are a couple of French managers but these managers tend to go back to their own leagues for players and again they will not settle in a small club in the North of England, it is much better to get some one who knows the premiership and the area, wake up and smell the coffee! :D Any one for Sam on here.

No and that is what worries me most. if Ince can't get it sorted then there is little possibility of our avoiding the dreaded allardyce unless he decides we're not what he wants now. I'd love gourcuff from Lorient myself if only because he might persuade his son that if City is good enough for Robinho, then Rovers might suit him down to the ground. :D

I was saying don't judge him now, judge him after so many games. I'm thinking that a few more games is actually fair because of the injury situation. Does that make me a paulette?

What is a paulette anyway?

If it doesn't work out after the 12 games, move the goalposts eh!

The point is that we don't have the time to give him a few more games we need to find a proper manager now. It's not a question of being fair it's a question of the team I love being relegated, probably for the rest of my life, and the possibility of the unthinkable happening and having Burnley take our place in the Premiership. That I could not stomach.

How long would the new guy get in charge? 12 games? Say it is Big Sam and we were still in the bottom three in 12 games time what do we do then?

Do you get a second chance if you take the cheap option i.e. darwen and fail. can you then do the expensive continental jump?
