How on earth, did anyone on here deny him his chance. No-one has any influence over his transfer dealings, tactics, team selections or even his interviews. A touch of bitterness from people with opposite views methinks and a recurring theme as well.

I think you know what I mean. It's simply daft of you to suggest that I and others ever believed that what is posted on here influences boardroom thinking at Ewood. This is a debating forum and some of it's contributors didn't want Ince here from day one and you know it. There are differing views on why that was the case.

Deliberately taking comments out of context does you a disservice.

I wasn't overly enamoured with Ince's appointment but I firmly believed that he should be given a chance especially in the face of those who, for reasons best known to themselves, steadfastly refused to do so.

Obviously since then it's hardly been impressive. Firstly was his unbelievably daft remark about us not being a bottom three club YET in his press conference which clearly startled John Williams. Then there was the failure to replace David Bentley and his refusal to distance himself from rumours he was a target for Newcastle. Along with pathetic and embarassing capitulations to three of the big four, comments about other clubs, dismal performances against the likes of Boro and Sunderland and our current depressing and deeply worrying malaise means his fund of good will is now in deficit at least with me and the lads I go to the match with. It's gone last orders in The Last Chance Saloon as far as I'm concerned.

He needs to go now whilst we can still save our Premiership skins.

Problem is who will want the gig? They wont be queueing around the block to take over a disorganised rabble that seemingly dosn't have sufficient professional pride in themselves and owners who are equally disinterested.

Depressing times and when/if Ince goes I have a feeling many of us aren't going to like the taste of the medicine administered.

( I seriously hope this post bites me on the @rse )

Excellent post Mr. C, very well put.

Not wanting to be too negative but I was utterly dismayed when I read the LT last night and the e-mail comments about the Spurs match and Ince in general. It was all positive and gave the impression that we are unlucky, playing well and that Ince is the man etc. and having read the e-mails myself I know that 75% of the comments expressed grave concern and severe doubts as to the management.

As the mouthpiece of the fans they have a duty to tell it like it is, not gloss over the fact we're in the bottom 2 or have gone 8 games in the league without a win. We all want to read positive stuff and want to feel good about our club, but when it's in direct conflict with what is actually happening it's an insult to one's intelligence.

The question is (and I know it's been asked before) how much of a hold do BRFC have on what goes in there ?

Out of interest, here's when our last lot of managers left their post:

Bob Saxton: December 1986

Don MacKay: September 1991

Kenny Dalglish: June 1995

Ray Harford: October 1996

Roy Hodgson: November 1998

Brian Kidd: November 1999

Graeme Souness: September 2004

Mark Hughes: June 2008

Only, Dalglish and Hughes made it into the second half of a season (the end of, to be exact).

So, Ewood form suggests Ince is out before Christmas or in for the season.

I don't think that JW will have the minerals to get rid of Ince before Christmas. Just hope that Ince is backed finacially in January. Think we should have a bit of a clear out personally and think that Ince may well ahve the guts to do so.

Out in Jan:

At least one of the young keepers on our books

Simpson

Reid

Vogel

Mokoena

Carlos Villanueva

Derbyshire

Gallagher

Fowler

In:

CB

RB

RW

CM

AM

FW

I think he's referring to me Gunner. Creosote's was ever so quick to scream 'racist' and attempt to form a lynch mob against me and now is ever so bloody slow to admit that he was totally wrong and to praise the accuracy of my intuition and foresight.

As I predicted amidst howls of outrage from our heavily agenda'd (male :P ) members at the time our malaise is sweet FA to do with the colour of the managers skin and everything to do with his ability, his nous and his personality. How so few could see or admit to that until now absolutely amazes me. As they say some people are too stupid to come indoors when it's raining.

btw I prepared this post 3-4 months ago. ;)

Ahh, thought I'd wake you up Enoch 2! I never claimed to be an Ince fan just a fan of a bloke having a chance. You clearly aren't. If the racist hat fits stick it on yer bonce Enoch.

We are in the **** and yet you seem ever so happy about it. Says it all about you.

I'm amazed that some people think that no matter what our results are that Ince will not get the boot. If we were to lose our next three in a row then that would surely have to spell the end. Some people seem to think that he'd be here until January at the very least no matter the results. But what if we were to be winless until then? The way things are going at present this is extremely possible. We're stuck in one hell of a rut and they're notoriously difficult to get out of.

No team can realistically go 10 games plus without a victory in the Premiership and expect to survive.

It's interesting that he hasn't been given the dreaded vote of confidence as yet.

That usually signals another few games stay of execution.

The Board must be aware of the growing unrest amongst the supporters and surely has to make a decision one way ot the other,(sack or back),within the next few weeks.

I'm sorry guys, but Ince, is into game -1 for me.

BTW, I haven't voted above, and Rev, I haven't changed my mind, are you changing yours?

Personally I'd give him four more games Dave whatever, and look at it again afresh at that point.

I know it's not really a valid excuse to say "there's no-one better out there" but if the worst came to the worst I honestly can't see a realistic alternative other than Allardyce.

That said I don't think the club will sack Ince anytime soon or at all - we don't seem to like compensating managers who are taking us in the wrong direction - as we saw with Souness.

And as I've said countless times, in my view the real problem is not replacing Ince or any other manager but we need a Randy Lerner or Uncle Jack Mk. 2.

And in four games time when we are adrift at the bottom of the league people on here will still be saying give him another couple games until we run out of games !

Not me personally, to my mind that's about the latest point IF results continue to go poorly that still leaves time to realistically do something about it.

I think that would include the Stoke game on December 20th. Which would be one game too late in my view.

Oh well, maybe Ince will turn into Bob Paisley overnight and all this will just seem like a bad dream.

If he turned into Ian Paisley overnight even that'd be an improvement.

You are an absolute idiot. I am in the same boat as Theno. There are appointments you KNOW are not going to work, and this was one from about day 2 for me. The "not yet" comment in his first press conference- never mind that it was a "joke" or "nerves" should have showed all concerned that he couldn't cut it at this level. If you're nervous and a question is not actually being aimed at you, you don't say a thing. Mr Ego couldn't just do that. His first clueless uttering, one of so many it's impossible to recount them all. Actually in retrospect this was probably a high point of the Ince regime.

There were certain numptys who decided that people didn't like Ince "because he is black". NO, I didn't like him because I've seen his sort before. We have one in the office. Promoted so far beyond his competence that it is not true. Prone to making stupid remarks and now, because he hasn't been put on the promotion track for next year, has played the race card. Unfortunately, his "representative" called the whole department in one by one for a supportive statement. He didn't even get "he's a nice guy"- he's not- he's a sexist shitbag. Each one of us has a number of incompetence stories, and the representative just had to tell him- It's not "because you is black" it's because you're rubbish at your job. He's now leaving.

You're confusing racism with an ability to read character. And the very fact that anyone had to make excuses ON DAY TWO should have been a big indicator of what was to come. And yet some still persist. You shouldn't have to be continually making excuses for someone. That's simply an indicator that in the big picture, they're simply not good enough.

Oh come on, he was making a joke! You can be critical of him for how he has managed the side, but to say that a one-liner in a press conference indicated that he wasn't up to the job is simply idioitic.

The poster to whom you refer to has his "views" plastered all over these boards.

Some bloke you dont like at work reminds you of Paul Ince so he should have been sacked from day one?

You have some front calling me an idiot.

Blimey Jan your post reads as if because you've got an idiot in your office - who incidentally happens to be black - you've tarred Ince with the same brush since day one.

If the numpty in your office wasn't black (or whatever), I could understand your point.

No, Jan's right. It was a bad thing to say.

Because in football, like politics, one crass or flippant remark (or photo in David Milliband's case) stays with you and will come back to haunt you.

Compare Ince with the professional manner Hughes always conducted himself in front of the media. Or Souness.

Ince's first press conference was never the place for ill-judged humour, especially after the coaching badges fiasco.

In fact, this is what his press conference should have been all about: professionalism, dedication to the job, ability, deisre.

Not juvenile cracks about taking Rovers into the bottom three.
