It's a bloody big mistake in our position though, Derbyshire's goal is given, we more than likely get three points, live to fight another day, confidence is restored slightly and the pressure is taken off for the Liverpool game, with a point being more than adequate, setting us up nicely for the Xmas fixtures.

(Sigh)

I'd still give Ince three more games myself, Liverpool, Wigan and Stoke.

A minimum of six points from those three fixtures or it will be time to try and change things round.

In the meantime we need to stop shipping goals NOW. The Winterburn thing doesn't seem to be working, get rid, or get him in full time instead of fannying about for a few hours a week.

How many "just 3 more games" are you going to give him?

I know it made some of those who care more about being pc than they care about the Rovers happy to give a black English manager a chance and are desperate to have him prove he's not the useless ignorant drongo that everybody sees, but he just is. There is no way he has the ideas or skills to turn this round. I wouldn't care if we beat United and Liverpool, I'd just believe that the players sorted themselves out.

Nelsen's seriously gone backwards, and like I said about Samba one moment he's a giant the next he's giving goals away for fun. I think it's time those two were dropped and Ooijer & Zurab were given the green light.

Welcome to the club, PIL.

What worries me is that Ince has not realised what we have seen for a month or more.

Call me mad if you like but I am willing to back Paul Ince. Very tough start to his PL Career and frustrating and worrying times for Rovers. Next game Liverpool. However, it is after that game where we can start looking to pick up our points. It is a must to go through Decemeber with a minimum of 1 defeat!

We have the following teams coming up:

Liverpool

Wigan

Stoke

Sunderland

Man City

Fulham

Newcastle

Bolton

Boro

Villa

In them 10 games only Liverpool is a tough game. Other than that we know and i'm pretty damn sure that the players know they are capable of picking up points VS the other 9 teams. If we could pick up around 20-25 points out of them game that would hopefully leave us in a good position come the run in.

It isn't all doom and gloom yet. Well for some of you it may be, but me, i'm looking at the glass half full.

Interesting to see what happens!

Chin up!

Listening to the interview Ince seemed a broken man. He sounded totally upset and moments from breaking down and crying. Not nice to see - but at least he now realises the gravity of the situation - if a couple of light years behind everyone else.

Whilst I'm glad he seems to at lasgt realise the mess he has got us into - I'm even less confident that he can turn it around. Based on his interview demenour it is hard to see him inspiring the troops at all, let alone telling them that such a defensive performance is utterly unacceptable and to enforce the team to get the basics right.

If this doesn't get the board to sack him I don't know what will. I'm worried as this was our best chance of 3 pts in the forseeable future against a tired mentally and physically pompey team. We can't afford to let ince waste any more "easier" opportunities for 3 pts.

I said before today's game that I would give him four games and after today's game I said I would still give him three more games.

Not too difficult to comprehend for an accountant is it?

As for the rest of your post it appears once again you are prejudiced against Ince for all the wrong reasons as much as for what actually matters like our results on the pitch.

having already failed to beat bolton, boro, wham, hull, villa and sunderland where do you think we can pick up 20-25 points and on what evidence do you base that on ?

Rovers havent got a clue on how to win a game, they are even worse at home than they are away.

If we capitulate to a very poor sunderland team then we sure as hell wont beat wigan or stoke. Its a shoring up exercise against liverpool and brazilian man city, and you can bet yr last pound we wont get anything at the Stadium of light as we become sunderlands only season double.

Sorry - did Mark Hughes ever see that ?

Nelsen has yet to get back to his performance levels prior to his injury - and Samba has been inconsistent since his first six months at the club.

I think you can lambast Ince as much as you want - but no manager can be held wholly responsible for the stupid school boy like errors our players have been doing most of this season. I don't just mean the defence - but an attack (incl Santa) that seems to be missing chances on a regular basis.

Could it be that our players over achieved during the Mark Hughes era - and they have just found their level. For anyone about to single Ince out as being responsible - I think we all saw the signs of that towards the end of the Hughes era.

Blimey! Tony Parkes has aged recently!

Absolutely Den!

Errrr............ who is it? :D

Jesus Christ. Some people say their fans of Rovers, and don't know their basic history.

He's Rovers legend John Coddington. He's dabbled in coaching as well...

Im 24 and even i know that!

Nelson looked shaky from the first minute, but Samba played well. He got caught in a one-on-one in open field with Defoe, not the big man's game to say the least. Two of the three Pompey goals began by careless giveaways by our midfielders in the center of the pitch. Andrews and Gamst looked like the Keystone Kops out there, running into each other on numerous occasions and galloping around aimlessly. Then again, Gamst has played like this for two years now. It's sad to watch the team fail at even the most basic tactics and strategies.

Errrrrrrrrr.................

He was a down to earth, old fashioned, no frills, take the man - then the ball if possible, they shall not pass centre half. He joined rovers in really troubled times and turned rovers dire defence around with sheer determination.
