Exiled in Toronto Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 It's unfair to judge him in the context of an underperforming Spurs side. As opposed to an under-performing Rovers side? Who would you want feeding you the passes, Andrews or Huddlestone?

tony gale's mic Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 As opposed to an under-performing Rovers side? Who would you want feeding you the passes, Andrews or Huddlestone? Yeah but if he's been continually played out of his position (how many times did he star on the left wing for us?) then how can you expect him to be upto his best? They had problems with their strikers under Ramos, and I think I'd rather be aiming the ball onto the head of Roque Santa Cruz than any of Spurs' current strikers.
super_arran Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 who cares about how Bentley is doin/did? he's gone.....move on
waggy Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 i thought ince came over quite well on tv last night, looks like most off his detracctors thought so as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!so they bring up the BENTARSE situation.thought den was never going to post about him again.PAUL INCE is our manager today,PAUL INCE might not be our manager tomorrow, but whilst he is he has my support.yes i was calling for souness's head months before he left,i did not like what he had done to my club, others loved him and would not hear a bad word about him.people hark on about saint mark, but the guy jumped ship/like the guy said last night ince was left with a ageing squad, hughes wasted the transfer window last jan by cooing the newcastle job.like i said yesterday have a DEMOSTRARTION AT THE LIVERPOOL MATCH,LET PEOPLE SEE YOUR FACES ,STOP HIDING BEHIND THE COMPUTER SCREEN
Eddie Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Here we go again. Do we have to keep harping on about Bentley? He went, he isn't exactly setting Spurs on fire, he's the past as far as Rovers are concerned. Bert and Morten aren't too bad at firing crosses into the area, they may not be the answer but if we want to look into the past perhaps we ought to be thinking about how many chances to score we have actually missed already this season - there are many of them. Should we not be discussing the present situation rather than the past - we cannot change history now but we can change the future. Quite right. Many overlook the fact that Santa has been quite rubbish this season. Last season he would have burried the chance he had against Portsmouth and we would have been 1-0 up away from home and probably would have gone onto win. Creating chances really hasn't been our major problem; taking them has been.
dlukeg1 Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Just seen Ince's latest "interview" on skysports - he looks like a dead man walking, trustees apparently meeting now, lets hope common sense prevails. SACK HIM SACK HIM SACK HIM

He needs sacking A.S.A.P, before its to late for our new manager to get us out of this mess. I don't know about you Waggy but i want to see Rovers play in the Premership and not in the championship.
tony gale's mic Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Well put Gaz. Anyone naive enough to think Allardyce will automatically do a better job should be publicly flogged He can hardly do a worse job can he?!

I am not even going to comment on Benni, because he was embarrasing at Pompey on Sunday.
Amo Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 yes i was calling for souness's head months before he left,i did not like what he had done to my club, others loved him and would not hear a bad word about him. So you have no right to judge us for criticising Ince. kthanxbai.
waggy Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 So you have no right to judge us for criticising Ince. kthanxbai. i was one person who had reasoned arguements, not children following the pied piper, some off the abuse PAUL INCE has took from the forum is a disgrace, like i said show your faces

You're right Waggy so apologies to you and roversmum, who I know this rankles. It just bugs me when people continue to say that Ince "had no choice" in selling Bentley. So for the last time, yes he did - he had two choices. Hughes and Williams had already told him the situation. And while it's wrong to keep harping on about it, IMO, it's the one single reason why we're in this mess. If we had kept hold of him, Warnock would have played full back all season, Emerton would have played full back - meaning a settled back four and Bentley could have played RW or CM. One player leaving has caused us so many problems it's untrue. So there, - finished. [sorry roversmum.]
Mr Creosote Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 or at pompey on sunday when matty scored Sorry, couldn't watch, listen or then read about sunday. If I'd have known about Morten crossing into the box I would have hung out the bunting.

gumboots Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I think the fact that Bentley has been poor so far this season undermines the argument he would have definitely delivered the goods for us had he been forced to stay. Surely he had even more incentive at a new club to win over a new lot of fans, cement his role in the Spurs team, claim his England place and so on, but he has failed to do so. Why would he have been better here? Because he's never had a chance in that Spurs team to build any sort of understanding with the guy behind him. Whilst they didn't always get it right, partly because Bentley is a greedy player and Brett often plays with his head down, they did most of the time play well together and knew what they were capable of. Don't get me wrong - I don't think like some that we could have kept him, but there are reasons, some in his own head and some in his circumstances as to why he is not playing the majority of the time at the level we know he can.
gillibrand Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Why is Ince on the TV so much, maybe if he had been sacked and was playing some hard done to scenario, but other than that who gives a #### about him?
gazsimm Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Why is Ince on the TV so much, maybe if he had been sacked and was playing some hard done to scenario, but other than that who gives a #### about him? john williams by the look of things!!!!

Craigman Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 http://www.skybet.com/skybet?action=GoEvType&id=10002896 Ince is currently evens to be the next manager to leave their post in the premiership. was 4/1 this morning
Amo Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 i was one person who had reasoned arguements, not children following the pied piper, some off the abuse PAUL INCE has took from the forum is a disgrace, like i said show your faces No, I think the criticism of Ince is entirely valid considering our current predicament. But hey, we all know you just want a pat on the back for being such a trooper.
gumboots Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 thats were your arguement falls down den,you mention HUGHES,who jumped ship, now if i was BENTARSE i would have thought whats good for the goose is good for david Wasn't that exactly what Bentley said in that infamous interview - that Hughes preached loyalty but didn't do it?
bob fleming Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Ince is currently evens to be the next manager to leave their post in the premiership. was 4/1 this morning Nice one Waggy. Since you've come on here defending our manager his odds have dropped and he's now evens to get the sack. You'd be better off leaving him to sort it out himself fella!
