At the end of the day the fans are the ones paying to watch, If the fans can see its not working

they should be able to express this! It is obvious that they have lost it!BIG TIME!

Its near enough the same team as last year, but the performances are miles apart!

Imo the downfall of Ince!

Appointing Mathias, knox etc

Signing Fowler

Signing Andrews (done ok but not the quality we needed)

Not replacing Bentley

Keeping Warnock in CM

Playing Mokoena

Hiring Winterburn(part time ffs)

sure theres more but all of the above have happened in a relatively

short period of time!

With the injuries to the squad who would you have played in central midfield?

Well, that's another thing, are the number of injuries we've had just done to chance; or is there anotehr factor at work here (I'm obviously referring to training etc, ie responsibility of the manager)?

I'm willing to be open-minded. If someone can offer evidence that ince will turn things round then, despite all the moaning I've come out with, I'll consider it.

But I can't see one single positive thing. I can just see it shaping up to be a personal disaster for Ince, and relegation for the club, and that doesn't please me one bit.

I just want to see my team do well. We don't have to qualify for the champion's league, I'm realistic, but I do need a bit of hope.

The first thing I would of done would be to replace Bentley either someone on loan or spending some money. By Doing this I could play emmo in either midfield or at right back.

I would not of got Carlos unless I was going to play him central midfield.

I would not of signed Robbie Fowler total waste of space.

I would of given Vogel a run in the team.

I would of tried to fetch some pace into the side either on the wings or upfront.

I would not play rocky on his own or derbs on the right wing.

I would try and play players in the correct position.

Ryan taking the flack for Paul's mistakes: http://msnsport.skysports.com/story/0,1952...4593099,00.html

We all know the tactics in matches are all wrong, but yet our captain says Paul's the right man to take us forwards...

Hasn't changed my views that we should sell Ryan too. He has been way to outspoken in this crisis for my liking...

Ryan needs to start taking the flack for his own mistakes before he worries about anyone elses.

He must be one of the worst defenders in the Premier League right now, and right up there as the Premier League's worst captain.

I've also got to say, that if the rumours of the board giving Ince 6 more games is true, then that's muddled thinking of huge proportions. They have seen enough now to ascertain whether or not they believe he will turn it around. If they have complete faith in him, then back him full stop. If they haven't got complete faith then sack him now, before any new manager has no chance whatsoever to save us from the drop.

Sounds like the board are "hoping" he'll turn it around, and that's not great leadership.

I'll also say this. this isn't ALL Inces fault. Since Souness left, the board have put virtually all the available cash into improving the contracts of the better player. That's left very little money for investment into new players. Now I'm not saying that was wrong, because there obviously isn't enough cash to do both. The outcome though, is that the squad is falling further and further behind the other Prem clubs.

Now, for the last three seasons, we had a very, very good manager who kept us vying with the best teams in this league. Now he's gone and Paul Ince has come in - whos' nowhere near good enough at this moment in time, the whole house has come tumbling down very quickly. I'm sure, or at least I hope the board realise what's happened here. They don't seem to know which way to turn though.

With you all the way on this one den. He either stays or goes, everyone needs to know the situation. In six games time we could be dead and buried and sadly there hasn't been a single sign Ince knows how to turn the situation around. I can't imagine what he's told JW to persuade him another six games is the solution.

Do you think demonstrating in any way against Ince or the chairman or board will do anything except get us bad publicity. The media are longing for us to fail.

The club will have been aware of the growing feeling Ince should go. At the moment it's limited to what they read on the web, LT letters section and the club's own message board - to be truthful not very good indicators, only unhappy people complain and it is only a minority of the support who post on here. You don't get 100+ pages of "Our manager is wonderful". If / when there is a significant, open demonstration of the fans' views (i.e Ince Out etc at a home game) the board will know they have to act.

For my money it's going to be pretty unpleasant tomorrow if we play badly and are well beaten. If there are demonstrations against Ince in the ground I expect he will go by Monday. The only thing which would stop this is the complete lack of a replacement or caretaker manager in the wings.

The only thing I can think of is that he has told JW that they are winnable games and that he will resign if he doesn't get (?) points-that way compensation won't have to be paid.

6 games - 18 points and we'll be almost safe. We can then look forward to a push for a UEFA cup spot !!!!

All it needs is a couple of wins and confidence will return.

Let's start with a decent performance against Liverpool

Come on Rovers

If Ince had a fit midfield to choose from we'd have picked up more points, probably than City, and is the promoted clubs had fared as expected, we'd be OK.

I strongly disagree. to me, this perspective misses the point entirely. imo we'd struggle with ince at the helm no matter who was fit. we've always had injuries but we've coped. making sure that we cope is Ince's responsibility, which he has demonstrably evidenced he is incapable of doing

he is the captain. he should try to encourage the team to do better. at least he says the team are backing Ince and that they are not walking with their heads down. thats either a good sign or he is lying.

as much as i want allardyce in, i am happy that nelsen is at least trying to turn things around. whatever happens they MUST start winning games, and thats what he is trying to make sure they do.

Paul Ince: A win would kick-start our season - only my opinion Incey old boy but by the time you're nearly half way through something it's generally a bit late to be talking about starting it! If I didn't do any work until midday each day I'm pretty sure my manager would be asking serious questions about what I'd been doing all morning, so Incey (considering the fans are the blood of the club) I feel it's my place to ask you what you think you've been doing for the first half of this season if you believe now is the time to start it? Because, again my opinion differs here, I would have started it in August!

well the club captain's not going to publicly slate the manager or the players is he? look at gallas.

he's been outspoken because he's the captain....it's his job

Matty,

You only posted half of the quote. I then go on to say that Ince has made the situation worse.

It's worth noting that I first posted over a month ago that we were in a relegation fight and was rounded on by several posters for being overly negative. Anyhow, I think that we'd have probably bumped along in the bottom third with a fit squad and Hull and Stoke picking up fewer points than they have. Not an endorsement of Ince, just an honest assessment of the season thus far. Like most others, I think we need a change, but Ince may, with players back and winnable games start to pick up points.

I just saw this from Ince: ""We're under no pressure to win the game. It's a funny old game, our form's not been the best and we're desperate for a win so why can't it be against Liverpool." - Because Liverpool are good, we are cr@p and playing worse than cr@p. As for Nelsen saying he feels sorry for the manager and that it isn't his fault, in the same conversation he directly compares the defense under Hughes to the present and admits they made far less mistakes before - well the defense is the same so if it's not the managers influence what else is it and why make the comparison with our previous manager? Maybe a little bit of doubt is starting to creep in even if it's only subconsciously at this stage.

I see The Mirror has once again been trying to keep Incie in a job. The influence of Darren Lewis & Oliver Holt, maybe? They have the main article about Roy Keane not being able to handle PL management, then another one about Sir Alex's support for Ince and highlighting that Ince lost Bentley, Friedel, and has Grella injured.

Ince could really do with helping himself and learning from his simple mistakes.

its easy you see.

Rovers play better with 4-4-2 and 2 that is TWO bloody strikers up front.

Incey old chap you may wnat more games and if you learn from your mistakes you will come good. Youhave to play 2 strikers. You have to learn to play players in their correct places and you must forget about playing pretty tip tap football.

effort and a work ethic will get you through.

So mate, my little cockney geezer.

That means NO MORE ANDREWS

It means RSC PLUS MCCARTHY

It means NO MORE FOWLER on the bench

It means 4-4-2

It means a right back at right back and a left back at left back

It means Emerton right wing for the moment and MGP left

It means forgetting you ever played 4-5-1 or 4-1-3-1-1

it means forget Carlos for the time being

It means NEVER playing Matt D on the flanks

It means learning to get Vogel match fit

it means firing Matthias the muppet and employing a younger, fresher coach, one with ideas and a fitness ethic

It means no more idiotic press conferences

It means no more buling up the opposition manager

It means concentrating on your own camp

It means convincing Rovers fans you mean well

it means employing a decent coach defensive wise FULL TIME and ridding youself of Winterburn

You get the message fella. Change is a must otherwise your out on your ar$e.

Get a grip and move forwards.

Dunny for captaincy next season! Provided he's not at the doc. Although i think the armband is a curse.

Judging by the debacle that was the end of the Souness reign when I simply couldn't believe he wasn't potted, think it's fairly clear the Board (or more pertinently probably the Trustees) would prefer to try almost anything rather than have to foot a hefty compensation bill having sacked a management team.
