Judging by the debacle that was the end of the Souness reign when I simply couldn't believe he wasn't potted, think it's fairly clear the Board (or more pertinently probably the Trustees) would prefer to try almost anything rather than have to foot a hefty compensation bill having sacked a management team.

This is where the complication that you mentioned in an earlier post comes in Simon. We have a CE trying to advise on the football side of things, and owners who are not apparently committed to the clubs future. It must be very frustrating for all concerned.

Am I wrong to prefer David O'Leary over Sam Allardyce to succeed Ince, should results not pick up?

This is the stage that I am at - but I'm feeling very uneasy about prefering O'Leary who I detested with particular venom when he was at Leeds. HAS time addled my memory (and brains!) - should I be plumping D'OL with Souey amongst the OVER MY DEAD BODY brigade?

O' Leary nearly destroyed Villa as well mate don't leave that important fact off his CV. Ask a Villa fan about him....

Not sure if he has been mentioned but i would seriously consider taking Gordon Strachan on as the next manager.

He has the team behind him (backroom staff), plays decent football, knows what he is doing, has the passion, has extensive European experience and to me he looks a little bored of Scottish football.

He performed miracles at Coventry and Southampton whilst obviously winning the various Scottish trophies.

He ticks most of the boxes for me.

Im sorry but I was mellowing down and looking forward to tomorrow then Im listening to the Ince media conference on BBC's website and at about 5:00 the media tell him that people will get off his back if we beat Liverpool and Ince breaks into a chuckle and says thats easier said than done.

WTF kind of response is that from the manager of any professional club let alone one in such a precarious situation?

He must be banned from talking to the media.

All I know is if I was listening to that and I was any of the players Id lose all confidence.

As Sir Alex has said you've got to give young people a chance," he said on Sky Sports News. "We've already lost Keane now, who is a fantastic manager and he will be back, but everyone needs time.

You (Ince) has been given time, you have wasted quite allot of money on players who should not be in the Rovers first team or are injury prone. You also havent adjusted your tactics to meet the tactics of other clubs..?

Ferguson was in a situation in 1990 against Nottingham Forest. Had Mark Robbins not scored the winner against Forest he could have lost his job.

Yes and if Fergie had been given the sack and Manchester United relegated, they would have had the fanbase and finances available to jump right back up again. We don't hense, we cant take any risks...

He got backed by the board and everyone else and now he's the greatest manager there is and ever will be.

Is he implying something there? I don't know...

So why shouldn't we have time? You can't keep sacking managers straight away. How can you build at the club if you're going to sack them after 10 to 15 games? Otherwise you might as well sign a six-month or year's contract because that's all it is nowadays.

Because stats show that teams at the bottom of the table or in or around, are more likely to get relegated. The last opportunity for us to sign players who might make a difference stopping us from getting relegated is coming up in January and we need to make sure the right manager is in to make those signings. Also, quite frankly, i don't believe you will sign the players we badly need to save this club. We have one shot at spending. If the 5 million signing of Grella is anything to go by, i don't want you to have anymore money!

People need time, especially young managers coming into the game. They need time and it annoys me, especially the press, start harassing mangers.

Not arguing that. But we cant give you a year or so to get it right. Relegation could very well kill this clubs future... If you want time. Apply for the Sunderland managers job. They have the finances to survive relegation. We do not!

I watched a thing yesterday and they were going around Blackburn asking 'Is Incey the right man the job 15 games into the season?' For me that's rubbish. That's bang out of order.

Bang out of order because they were getting the fans point of you and not yours? Bang out of order because the majority of the fans wanted you out? or bang out of order because the media are reacting to exactly what they know is going to happen? I doubt very much that its because you worry it might effect the team. The run of dreadfull performances and players played out of position and ditched for no reason is enough to do that! Roberts, Vogel and Carlos for example...

I have zero respect for those people as they failed their task as supporters. Anyone who totally doubted Ince after two weeks was doing so on no evidence whatsoever. Many did not have Ince as their first choice, but after he was appointed realised that he was now in charge of the club that they love and, because of that, fully supported him. Fans should still support him as long as he is in charge.

No one will ever be able to convince me that it is in the best interest of the club to lose the game. No one will ever be able to convince me that it is in the best interest of the club for the supporters to turn against the club.

It's alright for you to say.... you dont ever go to Ewood and pay good money to watch the ruination of the BRFC that was Jacks legacy to the town and the supporters. I've seen the other side of the coin for the 25 years before JW came in and I damned well don't want to see it again. Quite honestly I've no respect for your opinions on the matter cos you know Jack sh1t about what supporting BRFC is all about. All you know about is Rovers in the Prem. Basically the club is just not in your soul and never will be.

There is going to be something pretty revealing and explosive in a few papers in the morning.

For obvious reasons I can't go into more detail.

But tomorrow is going to be an interesting day.

Noticed this:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...wait-wings.html

Though its the Daily Mail...

<snip>

Blackburn manager Paul Ince is facing the sack following the game against Liverpool and the club are already considering alternatives, with Sam Allardyce and former manager Graeme Souness on their list.

Rovers made enquiries yesterday to see where Allardyce stands with regards to replacing Roy Keane at Sunderland and were encouraged to learn nothing has been decided.

But their other option is to bring back Souness and unite him with highly-popular midfielder Tugay.

I do worry about bringing back Souness after what happened towards the end. Most were pleased that he left...

Surely if Ince is out, we should enquire as to whether Owen Coyle would be interested in a jump to the Premier League...

For me, bringing back Souness who has been out of the game for 2 years is a bigger risk then Big Sam!
