Not much point comparing Ince and Allardyce these days (unless you're talking to Eddie or waggy), but it is interesting comparing us with the likes of Villa, Fulham, Spurs, City, West Ham and Everton in that time frame. That's nearly half a season up there and we're certainly in the same league as those teams in that half season. Fingers crossed Sam can bring in one or two recruits and we can get back to similar positions as under Hughes.

We are all but safe now thanks SOLEY to Allardyce.

Remember, just like Ince etc. he had a sub/no quality backroom staff.

UNLIKE Ince he inherited a team in the bottom 3, at it's lowest ebb with confidence shot at, no pattern of play or organisation, and 13 points thanks to 2 very lucky wins. And UNLIKE Ince his major player decided get his knee sorted out and was unavailable.

You should look at the job he's done here in 4 months as little short of a miracle people!

We've bought nothing but time but if we didn't keep faith with him we'd be stone cold crazy.

Any true Rovers supported would have took to digging tunnels into the opposition goal if need be which is why Vinjay (real name?) and Waggy don't belong on this board except for our sport and entertainment.

Vinjay's a wind up so his purpose is entertainment, but Waggy is to my knowledge a proper poster, which makes his viewpoint all the more confusing.

I think Big Sam has done an excellent job. Some people just won't come round to liking him though and will look for anything to have a go at the man.

On the Setanta Friday football show, they were going on about Harry Redknapp and saying he should be given the manager of the year award, as the work he has done at Spurs has been 'nothing short of miraculous'. Granted he has done well in his tenure but he has spent a significant amount of money - also had a very talented squad to work with.

Big Sam has been nothing short of a miracle worker, a number of posters are still under the same illusion that Ince was under and that is that we will get out of the situation if we give it time... well after 17 games and 13 points and conceding TWO goals a game, how much time was needed?

Sam has now gained nearly DOUBLE Ince's points total, conceded about ONE goal a game and that is whilst playing with ONE recognised striker for the last half dozen games!

That is before you take into account that Big Sam has done this in FOUR months and took over when the players were at an all time low, the time to judge the style of play will be next season but thankfully it looks like we can look forward to next season in the premier league... I am Sam believer... :rover: :rover:

You never hear from them when we win!

He's not even the original Vinjay, he at least talked more sense!

Just watched the video interview with Benni on Sky.

I noticed him wearing the club jacket/suite, same as BS's, I don't think I have seen a player dressed like this after the match for a interview.

I wonder if this a result of the team building break, turning up for games in a uniform as such, all equal and all that.

PS. noticed in the post match interview, Sam, now say's one more win, sounds much more positive, than 3-4 draws will do.

I think that the result and obvious display of the Rovers playing as a solid, unified team yesterday totally vindicates the break the players had last week up at Gleneagles, you have to admit that Sam knows his onions...

You only had to see the response of Gamst to Robbo, the mad Dunny scramble and Andrew's desperate clearances on the line to see that the break was a superb piece of man management from BFS. The lads wanted it and they wanted to get the result as Rovers and not a bunch of players who meet on a training ground week in week out, yep Sam does know his onions and this can only be a good thing for the new season ahead for us Rover's supporters.
