I think that the result and obvious display of the Rovers playing as a solid, unified team yesterday totally vindicates the break the players had last week up at Gleneagles, you have to admit that Sam knows his onions...

You only had to see the response of Gamst to Robbo, the mad Dunny scramble and Andrew's desperate clearances on the line to see that the break was a superb piece of man management from BFS. The lads wanted it and they wanted to get the result as Rovers and not a bunch of players who meet on a training ground week in week out, yep Sam does know his onions and this can only be a good thing for the new season ahead for us Rover's supporters.

:rover:

I thought Pederson butted him in that incedent! Didn't look too friendly. Still if Allardyce wants to take them to funnygirls and a lapdance club this week it would be okay by me if this is the response.

I wonder if your Ginger Mourinho is worrying now as its only a 1 point difference between us

Not mithered as long as we stay up, if I'm being honest 1864! :)

No issue with that from my POV - I'd take you in the Prem above Newcastle any day of the week.

Believe me, if the Barcodes get the chop I may well wet myself due to uncontrollable laughter. Deluded arrogant "big club" tossers.

... and breathe! :)

Just watched the video interview with Benni on Sky.

I noticed him wearing the club jacket/suite, same as BS's, I don't think I have seen a player dressed like this after the match for a interview.

I wonder if this a result of the team building break, turning up for games in a uniform as such, all equal and all that.

PS. noticed in the post match interview, Sam, now say's one more win, sounds much more positive, than 3-4 draws will do.

I noticed Emerton wearing it on the Rovers bench yesterday to. However, whenever I see that suit, it only reminds me of one person  Paul....

Under Sam, for home matches, players are required to turn up (and presumably leave ) in the club suit. Personally, I don't like the suit and hope they change it next season. Looks far too much like a wedding suit.

Yes, because NO other club has ever attained success with Brian Kidd playing a major role have they?!samt.jpg

Even McClaren looked competent with Ferguson.

I must be the only one then because I like it and wished they sold it in the club shop

I know Big Sam gets a lot of negative press for his long ball strategy but it occured to me while watching Newcastle v. Pompey how impotent both teams were at set pieces and i thought that with Rovers now they have become quite threatening from set plays which is unusual from a Rovers side.

I never thought I would get excited from a throw in! Pedersen flings them in at pace and you expect something to happen. The same at corners and free kicks.

It may not be the purist`s football but it has made us very dangerous. I must be coming round to Sam`s tactics at last!!

Agree, we do look more threatening and certainly with Samba up-front we are causing teams problems (obviously not referring to the Liverpool game here). In both the Spurs and Wigan matches, Samba has been instrumental in our victories.

Sam said at the evening with Sam Allardyce that if a team can take advantage of their set pieces and defend set pieces well, then this should enable any premiership a top ten slot straight away.
